    Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. You are a cut above most of what is out there these days.

      Thank you, Daniel. I think the other guys doing ww videos do a great job. But a slight advantage I might have is, I do it for a living and youtube is just a side job for me. I probably face more challenges than the average hobbyists. But I can't say that for certain. :-)

      Oh thank you very much, James. Some might say it's a waste of time and it's such a slow process, but I find it truly is helpful.

    These are great videos keep them coming.
    I have used the cardboard box mock-up of a desk hutch before, as well as tape on the floor and walls many times, 3d models before, and all have been very helpful in ironing out bugs in a design and refining requirements.
    I am currently trying to plan some benches for my porch. The plan is to let my son who is a beginning woodworker do the build. So we are trying to find a simple plan for him, a design that will stretch his skills just a little bit -- but not too much as he has to build several. I think we will glue together several smaller scale models using different designs. Thanks! It'll be fun.

    I always click thumbs up (to crush a troll) before I start watching. I've been enjoying and learning from your favorite cabinet making book, and, of course, that refers to other books (which are shipping now) and so on, ad infinitum. Thanks for the help, the video tips, and especially for your positive attitude. May you and yours stay safe and healthy.

      Hey Mike. I'm glad you appreciate the effort. It makes me feel really good knowing others are learning and growing in knowledge.

    Great practical advice as always, Chad. I got your book and really enjoy the projects you picked out for it. My next build is going to be the library chair as a gift.

    Another great video Chad. I appreciate the advise even though I make furniture mostly for my own home your ideas are great. I need to try making some life size mockup. You must have recorded this a few years ago when you were setting up your new shop. Stay safe my friend.

      Hey Don. No actually I film it a few days ago. That is the corner of my shop I use as my spray booth. I have tarps the hang down and a fan in the window when I spray.

      Chad Stanton it just looked so empty compared to your usual backdrop. What confused me when I thought it was an older video was that there was a plate around the electrical plugs and you didn’t add them for quite a while after you setup your shop.
      No matter it was a very well done video with great ideas that have made you more successful in your woodworking business. Some of the recent pieces you’ve shared have been outstanding. I, for one, appreciate your efforts and techniques to share with us.

      @@wb_finewoodworking Thaks for the support, Don. It's been a pleasure getting to know you. BTW I still have a TON of things in haven't finished in the shop. Window jambs and casing, insulation in the artic and so many little things I seem to ignore for another day. Hahahaha

      Chad Stanton I certainly can relate to that. This month marks the 10th anniversary of us moving into this house and I still have a lot of those projects to do. I’m still working on the organization project that I started in earnest about four years ago. If you’re enjoying your shop and working in it then those projects will come eventually. The fact that you can make such super pieces in your “unfinished” shop is fantastic. I really appreciate your friendship and expertise. You truly are dedicated to make people like me a better woodworker. Thanks.

    How do you find clients that are willing to pay for all the extra time, effort, and materials?

    • @ChadStanton
      @ChadStanton  4 года назад +1

      Since I have been doing this for over 20 years it clearly takes time to build clients that have deeper pockets. But this extra effort proves to them that very few people give this level of customer service. And of course it comes at a price. Here is a video I did a while ago that helps price your work. ruclips.net/video/4ChGeAwWk3I/видео.html
