If you have more of these keep them coming! Even if you don't plan on using them, it's always better to have the knowledge and not need it then to need it and not have it. I will be using this one though. Thanks Chad
So glad you made this instructional video. I actually used this last night to create some arches(specific dimensions) for templates for an adirondack chair. NEWS FLASH!! THIS METHOD WORKS!! Such a great tip. I will now be the envy of my neighborhood because I can draw specific arch dimensions especially when I am sitting in my chair(s)!! 😜 Thanks Chad and Keep on Dancin'!
This is brilliant Chad mate. I wouldn't understand how this works without the video tutorial to go with. Nice one pal. So I wanted to ask about the bigger archways let's say for under a double doorway inside between the Living Room & Dining Room?? How do u build those arches? I'm going off the premise that using plywood to build the archway out?? Is that why u used the board just there? U have great experience in this game so I want to ask could u do a full video on how to build the archway under a double door between rooms. I would love to see how that is done. How u get to the final finish, etc. ALSO, Is there any chance of u making a video on how to set the jams of a doorway in correctly? Do u have a video for that in the playlists on here?? The back door to my workshop is damaged badly and I want to put a whole door jam/Frame in but I don't know how to go about it. I want t remove the old one and get the new one in straight away on the same day so I can build and hang the door too.. I bought special locks for the doors of my shop to stop ppl from breaking in. In my area nothing is safe unless it's glued and screwed down.. haha! I need to put new doors in but I'm not well versed enough to put the door jam/frame in. I would very much appreciate a video on both the Archways over a double door and the Door Jams/Frames.. I enjoyed this video very much Chad mate. Thanks for these helpful tips. I'm learning so much from ur channel..
Hahahah Sorry Jim. I guess i have issues still with my 9th grade English teacher. Maybe i should see a therapist? Hahaha thanks so much. Check out tomorrows video, you might smile.
I've run out. Hahahah no just kidding. Yes, i will do more. Hope you subscribe to our show.

These geometry tricks are amazing. In my country, we used to learn about these tricks - obviously not to be applied only to woodworking but everything else. Not anymore - too bad!
I’m Impressed by your videos not just your mathematical skills but you seem to enjoy yourself and that makes all the difference to me watching your videos
Your videos are very educational. Thank you for sharing. you brought back the geometry learned in school. Can you produce a video showing the cupid bow and cyma or S-curves?
I have a Radius Calculator app on my phone put in the rise and length you desire and it tells you the Radius you need from a pivoit point. Yep... layout table too.
Really great video Chad. Keep the Geometry coming. I hope you playlist these on your RUclips channel to make them easier to find in the future. Thanks again.
Great job explaining how it works! Had an old timer show me something similar with a framing square years ago but never got to use it for a real project. Now, I'm making cabinets like the ones you showed and this will save the few hairs I have left! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much. And I'm thrilled you can watch me in your country. It's quite an honor when i hear from folks from different parts of the world. Thank you again
Grate video. I can see how you have taken every thing on board, when you ask a question and you deliver a good product. Keep up the good work but Don’t work to hard.
I'm glad yo liked it. I have plans to do more. So if you subscribe you won't miss one single action packed episode!!! Did i just over sell it? HAhahaha thanks again.
YOu bet, Scott. I have more coming but a few quick tips before i do another geometry. Please subscribe and then you will be notified when the next geometry video will be out. Thanks for watching
That is magnificent.
If you have more of these keep them coming! Even if you don't plan on using them, it's always better to have the knowledge and not need it then to need it and not have it. I will be using this one though. Thanks Chad
Great! I'm glad it helped Mark.

HAhahaha i'm thrilled it worked will for you. I was totally making it up. I had no idea it worked. HAhahah just kidding. I'm happy to help.
Some more please. And yes, you're smarter than you think you are.
Great tips. It has been more than 40 years since I studied math. These really help.
I know! Who knew math could actually come in handy other than counting upi the change i make as a woodworker. Hahahaha thanks for watching
Fantastic. I knew about drawing the arcs, but the two sticks is even simpler.
Outstanding Chad. I've always had trouble with arches. This is really going to help. Keep the geometry lessons coming.
Thank Robert. I'm glad it helped you.
chad, I thought this was the same vid so I didn't watch it till now. Another great vid. THANKS
I plan on doing some more. I'll make a play list that way people can refer back to it when they need it.
Thanks for the video, I've seen a lot of arches done with routers and jigs but I use hand tools and don't have a router. These tips are very useful
Thanks Holly. I'm glad you enjoyed it
Hey Chad that was great, I'm now inspired to incorporate curves into a project. Now I'm off to get a compass!
Thanks great, Robert. I love curves in my pieces i design. I think you will too.
Great video, Chad. Thanks muchly.
Nice! Very useful.
Thank you David. Hope you subscribe because we will be doing more int he future.
Thank you Chad :) This will come in really handy, I'd love to see more of these ॐ

"So the way we're going to get a perfect arch ....is by using math" You almost lost me there lollll. Another truly great video.
Awesome!
If you think of it, woodworking is the reason why geometry existed in the first place.
Can you hive me link about that formular of algebra and radius for made arch? Thanks
I actually watched that first one with my 7 year old daughter. It was great man. Looking forward to this one.
You're making math teachers seem cool. Can you do something for English teachers?
Nope, English teachers still suck! Hahahahah thanks Jim.
Chad Stanton ouch, that hurts. Lol
Hahahah Sorry Jim. I guess i have issues still with my 9th grade English teacher. Maybe i should see a therapist? Hahaha thanks so much. Check out tomorrows video, you might smile.
Chad Stanton fair enough, I have a shop teacher that caused men nightmares lol
What's his name? I'll send Safety Dan after him. Hahahaha
Wonderfull
Nice. I’d really like to see a video of this technique on a large scale. 😁👍🏼
Useful ! Thank you!!!
Really like this geometry series!! Practical and well-explained; please don't stop until you run out of techniques to teach!
I've run out. Hahahah no just kidding. Yes, i will do more. Hope you subscribe to our show.
These geometry tricks are amazing. In my country, we used to learn about these tricks - obviously not to be applied only to woodworking but everything else. Not anymore - too bad!
Sometimes it helps to actually see where these tips can be used, otherwise it just feels like boring math. Thanks for watching
I’ve been rejuvenated with this method....I graduated in 1966 and had good math skills back then, but if you don’t use it, you lose it ....thanks....
That's pretty brilliant. Thanks very much.
Thank for watching Mike. Hope you come back again and subscribe
So simple, so obvious, (after the fact), so not widely known. Awesome video! Great job showing that, sir! Thank you!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍😍
What kind of sorcery is this. You evil bastard!!!
Hahahaha I've been called a goofy bastard before but not an evil one. Thanks for watching
I’m Impressed by your videos not just your mathematical skills but you seem to enjoy yourself and that makes all the difference to me watching your videos
Chad this is great thanks heaps.... how would you transfer this to a door to raise the inside ???
Send me a picture so i can see exactly what you are dealing with. I'd be happy to try and help you.
I could have used that trick three days ago working on a cabinet in my shop
Oops. Sorry. :-)
I love to find new ways to NOT use math. Great video!
Math hurt my head. Hahahah I'm a simple guy. I can't handle complex. :-)
Please please please do a video on wood finishes. When to use on what type of wood in what application. 🙏
Not a bad suggestion. I'll make a note of it. Thanks
How to make hart shape...
Ok the 2 stick trick, Oooo I rhymed 😁, was pretty awesome!
Hahahah thanks Brian
Love your channel Chad! And drink one for me Safety Dan!
I'm sure he'll drink a few for ya. Hahahaha Thanks Brian
Norbury53 Oooo you rhymed tooo lol
Yes, more like this.نعم
Will do. Thanks for watching
Unbelievable that people have given this video a thumbs down.
Your videos are very educational. Thank you for sharing. you brought back the geometry learned in school. Can you produce a video showing the cupid bow and cyma or S-curves?
Yes! As a matter of fact I’m probably going to have it done tomorrow. How’s that for timing? 😆
@@ChadStanton Ok. Many thanks
This could have been done with string too. Great concept.
Brilliant idea 👍
Great info..thanks much!!!
Thanks for watching
anytime i can use a compass instead of a calculator, i say HELL YEAH! great one, thanks Chad!
Great tip. Please keep them coming.
Will do. Thanks for watching

Great video, Thanks Chad
Your welcome Deathy. Hope you are still around for the next one. Hahahaha thanks again
This trick is very handy for future projects 👍🏼😉🇨🇦 Thank you for helping us , the woodworkers , to have less of a headache at the end of the day 😜
I can help with the geometry, but the headaches you should probably see a doctor and not a woodworker. Hahahah thanks for the comment.
More!
Thanks for sharing. That was a cool tip that will be very handy. I have thought of several applications already.
That's awesome Ed. Good luck to you!
👍👍
Very Good technique 😉
thank you. We will be doing more in this series
Great job explaining how it works! Had an old timer show me something similar with a framing square years ago but never got to use it for a real project. Now, I'm making cabinets like the ones you showed and this will save the few hairs I have left! Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad to help. I love being able to share and keep this wonderful craft alive. Send me some pix when you are done!
Thanks, looking for more. How about andding more to your plate and publish a book, Geometry for Woodworkiers. Been looking for this for years.
Books are a LOT of work. I have one coming out this Sept. It is no fun at all. But i am proud of it.

Chad, thank you for this and the previous video - is there anyway thing in print that covers these geometric applications?
Sorry i do not, but that's a good idea. I should add that to my newsletter. Sign up here if you want, it's free. www.woodchoppintime.com/
Reminds me of the "draw a circle w/ a square". trick. I have never ever needed that nor tried. but that two stick thing is da bomb fo-sho.
Thank you. It does come in handy
Awesome techniques, precise but simple! This makes me wish I paid attention in geometry class !! Keep up the great demo's !!
I know, right! I hated school. Now i wish i paid attention. My mother always told me one day i would. I hate it when she is right! :-)
Man your a life saver with this video I have been doing it the hard way lol thanks allot for the knowledge

Keep'em coming!
Will do, Gerald. Thanks for watching
Thank you. This will come in handy. I would like to see more
Will do, Michael. Thanks for watching.
What is the reason to connect the width to the height did I miss something?
Based on Chad's answer, I think I misunderstood the question
It's important because if the height was taller than the width it wouldn't work out right if you didn't use that step.
Absolutely brilliant demo of 3 ways to draw an arch 🎯
Thank you Ian. I'm glad you found it useful.
Great video
thank you
Thank you !
YOu are quite welcome, Travis.
Good stuff!
Thanks Shaun, i will probably do more in the future
Way too cool.
Thanks Red
Brilliant!
Yo mean the math, right? Not me. Hahahaha thanks for watching Dan
Thanks nice job
