Valdosta definitely has grown in recent years. From indoor bowling, virtual golf, escape rooms, downtown amphitheater and virtual reality at the popular trampoline park. Of course you still have Wild Adventures Theme & Water Park and Grand Bay for the nature lovers. 🚣🏼🏊🏾♀️ Seems like every month a new apartment complex or subdivision breaks ground. 🏡 I would say if Valdosta had a bigger/better mall, more flights at the airport, and higher paying jobs (like factory work or an Amazon distribution center), Valdosta would be a great place to live!
Speak for yourself, the more development y'all do in Valdosta the higher off the cost of living will get and the more subdivisions moving north towards Hahira and Cook County. We like it how it is and we don't want some developers to clear our land and throw up hundreds of sub standard houses that will need major repairs if not fully torn down and rebuilt in 10-20 years.

Thanks for sharing that and for watching.
My mother was from Lake Park. I was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC but growing up we made yearly trips to the Valdosta area to visit family. The community of Clyattville near Wild Adventures theme park was named for one of my ancestors.
@@orgrichard Vety cool
Downtown is a very small part of Valdosta. And that’s why most shops down there are closed, cause the shopping happens around the colonial mall area!
Thanks for sharing that info
Valdosta is a good city to visit and a great place for vacation with Wild Adventures Amusement Park or for the avid golfer there are courses to explore 🎇
Thanks for the tips!
Definitely should try MO’s Mediterranean downtown
Mo does a great job, an amazing chef! I second this!!!
What type of food do MO's cook?
I really enjoy the beef shawarma, lentil soup, and the baked zatar chicken. Decent prices for the food too
@@ALLUMALLUVUS Thanks I'll try it next time I'm in town. I appreciate the info.
It's the way it is because it's basically owned by one family.
Thanks for sharing that.
Cheers mate nice one regards from Eastbourne in the United Kingdom.
Thanks for watching! Much Appreciate!
Hi I live here in Valdosta but you may have got a census number of just Valdosta. There is also the county's just outside of Valdosta city. Valdosta County consists of Lowndes, which is, I think, the largest. Then others etc Brooks and so on. I've been here for 5 years and love it.
Thanks for sharing that. I will be back soon to checkout more of Valdosta.
You haven’t had the Valdosta experience unless you ate at Chili’s, bought candy at Walgreens, and snuck it into the movie theater. I do that every year for my birthday
lol Thanks for sharing that and for watching!
WHEN YOU SAID DOWNTOWN, I LAUGHED LIKE NEVER BEFORE, BUT I LOVE IT, VALDOSTA IS SLOW AND I AM SICK OF THE BIG CITY, WHY DO STORES CLOSE SO EARLY ?
I received an insightful comment explaining the early closing of stores in the Downtown area. I wanted to support black-owned businesses while in the area. Therefore, during my next visit, I plan to arrive earlier to ensure I have ample time to engage in patronizing local black-owned establishments.
It may be expanding for no good reason but it's still a small town. Everything excluding some restaurants are closed at 5 or 6.
The locks are for lovers/couples put their name on and lock on.. Locks of Love 💞
Thanks for the info. Much Appreciated
@4:21 that's the old court house there's a lot of animosity about the oak trees surrounding the building. It's said back in the day there were people hung from those trees.
Wow, Thank You for sharing that.
@@TIMJMEANSBUSINESS not a problem there's a lot of us that would like to see them cut down but at the same time there's a lot that wants them to stay because of "historical" purposes.
@@one1onetime935You probably couldn't find any Old Courthouse in the state that doesn't have a hanging tree. Crime used to be severely punished and the death penalty was indeed given out for the most heinous crimes. I don't know if it's true but I could fully believe a death sentence being carried out on the Courthouse lawn
Hey! My home town! I'm currently living there now!

You visited my office ❤ Azalea Business Consultant 🌺
oh Okay, I said something about that in my video. I was really happy to see black owned businesses in downtown. I tried to look you up on Fb to send you a link to the video but I didn't find you.
@@TIMJMEANSBUSINESS I am taking a break from social media. I normally fast the first of the year. I’ll be back soon 😌
It's prettier at night. That big building is the old court house. If you Google Fried green tomatoes courthouse scene you can see the inside of it. Zombieland was also filmed locally. Not sure why the shops were closed. Not alot for the 20 year Olds to do. Plenty for kids and elderly to do. Maybe two night clubs. Lots of parks.Plenty of jobs. Not many pay too good. People are nice for the most part. Crime could be better.Come check us out dureing Christmas. Hope you enjoyed your visit. Do the speed limit. These small town cops are revenue hungry. Not good at all. Sad to say that..Take care and be safe.
Its plenty of stuff to do it's like 5 clubs in valdosta
I never got pulled in the towns, only on 75 by the state troopers. Thanks for sharing all the info, I appreciate at that.
@@TIMJMEANSBUSINESSIt's the State Troopers you have to watch out for, they'll stop you for 1 over. County and City depending on the road you can easily do 5 or 10 over and they won't stop you because everyone excluding them take out back highways 60-65

It looks kind of rough 🥴
It is in some areas of Valdosta
It's not bad. I take my kid out walking at night. No issues down town. We do have two bad areas. Both near projects. All it all it's not bad.
He went to historic downtown which is near the low income area. I used to go to church in the salmon coloured building he walk by a few times across from the Daniel Ashley building you see in the video. We served a lot of homeless people there for years and got them off the street. Unfortunately, the church had to close because the neighboring businesses were getting tired of seeing homeless people around us several times a week. He's also close to where a friend of mine was shot and killed. That's also a prime area for negotiable affection. This is one small part of Valdosta though.
Thanks for sharing. Next time I'm in town, I will checkout the whole city.
@TIM J MEANS BUSINESS cool, let me know and I'll tell you about some places you might like. I can also talk about what it was like starting and running an entertainment business in Valdosta.

Even from the mid 80s into the 90s downtown Valdosta was never a hot spot
Thanks for sharing that. What is some hot spots?
You don't want to be there after 5. People ate have dinner at 5 and or getting g off work. And it's just not fun going there anymore
Okay, Thanks for the info.
Thanks for sharing this info and for watching.
The mall is pitiful. Nothing but apartments and fast food and 2 walmarts.
@@sharoneuby-62 There are 3 Walmart’s in Valdosta and a rumored 4th location coming to that city.
@@tahj677 theres one by the mall, one on inner perimeter and just a food store on bemiss.
Can confirm Valdosta sucks
LOL Thanks for watching!
Valdosta looks boring
