Correction, the beetle came out in 1938 right at the start of the Second World War. It was the recommended choice for the people’s car to drive. It was basically a copy of Henry Ford’s model t that the Fuher was admired to use its blueprints to craft a car that hitler wanted his people to drive. Hitler used them during his marching parades and police cars of the ss and Gustavo. And in 1947 the beetle was now in production for civilian use until 1950 it reached the US market.
Thanks for the context and additional information. However, the Beetle did not come to the states in 1938. Since this is a VW of America, I am speaking of the American history of the Beetle. I appreciate you trying to correct me though!
@@iLikeTigerz101 lol ok, I just dont see how that is a correction to the info I provided. An addition and contextualizatuon, sure! But not a correction lol.
@@iLikeTigerz101 I'm sorry, but that is incorrect. VWoA was established in 1955 to streamline the importing of the Beetle. The first Beetles landed in the US before VWoA was structured. I will give you partial credit since your statement has merit, but only if you consider the Beetles delivered under the official banner of VWoA.

@@johnpittman7762 that’s what I said. No American beetles came out until the 50s. Before that they were military vehicles for the nazi party.
