The blue purple and red heat Mark's can be added with tamiya red, blue and mixed purple clears. Add multiple layers or for ultimate heat staining with clears try E7 clear.
If you use the pens I would reccomended buying an empty paint pen and filling it with alcohol to blend the lines of the pigma pens.
The heat lines are caused by the heatsinks that draw heat away from the control rods for the nozzles. Unlike western engines they control from the end, not from inside. It's done so there is more room for high altitude restart injection.

Great video! When I build mine I think I’ll leave the vertical stabilisers off during this stage...

    Hey!
    I really like your work.
I'm a modeler myself, but more in terms of armor. I bought myself a set of GWH 1/48 Su-27UB # L4827, but I can't figure out exactly how to paint the engines correctly. Specifically, in what metallic color to paint the entire engine from below and above, so to speak, the main color. Then what colors to paint the individual parts of the engine and how to tint the individual elements of the engine nozzle. And also how to paint the inside of the nozzle. If possible, tell me in as much detail as possible, since I am a beginner in aviation.
If you can tell me the paint company and the numbers.

Hello Matt, nice work on those engines, looks very impressive already.
So, if you were to build the GWH kit again, as a stand-alone build, do you think you would leave the vertical stabilisers off, until after the engines were painted, at the risk of damaging paint during final assembly.

I don't think so. I wanted to, but they're one of the very few areas where the fit isn't dead to rights.

Hi, please help me to solve one issue with the painting of my models airbrush. When I paint with Tamiya paints and Mr.Hobby on plastic often formed the rough places like the sandpaper like a solvent to dissolve plastic. Can give any advice, can I use a lot of solvent? Thanks

I also experienced that part using tamiya acrylic paints. When I started using Mr. Color Leveling Thinner, it really works. Though I have X20A, I prefer MLT as they say that it has retarding agent. Try it yourself. Will start to use Mr. Rapid Thinner soon.
