Beautiful! This is the last song sung in church on Christmas Eve... between the glow of the candles and the words to the song... I always get emotional. Silent Night... Holy Night! 🕯 Peace to you all! 🕊 Thank you for sharing ! 💖
To me, this song has a spirituality that transcends religion. The wish for Peace on Earth embraces us all, regardless of our individual belief... or lack thereof. A most beautiful song, a most hopeful expression of what this world could be.
Took me back to that era when I was a young child singing in a boy's choir going from home to home, including nursing homes. I learned and never lost the true spirit of Christmas, which seems so far removed from the world today.
I was born a year and a half after this program aired. I had the same experiances you had growing up (early '60s) in the junior choir in church. We also went to the homes of elderly church members before Christmas (usually the Saturday before). What a lot of work it must have been for the adults getting all us kids around town! I still remember those days when I pass those houses. The old folks we sang to probably passed away within a few years of our visits.
@@rugerscout308 - I think of those old folks periodically and realize I am getting near their age today. It was tough for me as a child to see all of the lonely elderly people in the county home. It was so cramped we hardly had room to move through the hallways. This this was before advocates for the elderly finally brought to light the abuse and changes occurred. I wish I could go back and hug each and every one of them. But I trust they have been firmly planted in heaven the past 50 years and their pain is no longer a memory.

Formidable. Ou sont les jours heureux? Merci pour cette merveille.
Ed and Sylvia Sullivan listening to the Carolers singing “Silent Night” beautifully sung😀👍🏿
Beautiful, the way it should be now.
Toast of The Town Christmas Edition😀👍🏿🎉🎊
This reminds me so much of Going My Way and the other Bing Crosby Christmas movie; both of which, I adore. Great singing.
They're all bundled up for the performance, you know the sweat is rolling off of them.
