I enjoy the crafting in DayZ, it's rewarding. I do get tired of getting 50 sticks for the shelter, but never feel like dragging tarps sheets around.

Bruh that's how me and a good friend of mines met he was hiding in a shed outside of my base and I was about to go on a lot run and when I opened the door bro started shooting missed his shots then I ran around the shed pulled out my gun walked around the corner and dropped him the discord had the kill feed so I found him and gave him his stuff back for some reason then we were a duo for the longest and after we became good friends he told me he was planning to back stab me but after the wars we done fought there was no way we would shoot each other
No shit ... when i was young in the DayZ mod i met my best friends by trying to kill them. After my mate said " no lets talk to them " we played first some hours and after that years together. after nearly 10 years i moved to them to austria. My whole life would be different if i had killed them.

Bruh i just started playing DayZ a month and a half ago, ive already run into like 6 people who've told me they "never cooked" in DayZ.. Its an epidemic 😂

The first time i tried to, i had firewood, my food i wanted to cook, and some matches and it was at a homes stove, and it didnt ever turn on or anything cause i assume i needed more. So i just gave up

They really need to expand the crafting by a lot. Some more improvised weapons maybe a pistol a bow or a throwing spear, grenades like molotov cocktails or smoke bombs, improvised flask from pumpkins, maybe some medicine that you could be able to make from certain plants and it would function as a weaker version of tetra.

You can make an improvised water bottle from tanned leather

You can't craft the leather clothes in vanilla anymore only the backpack
You have to treat the animal skin with fertiliser

Unless I’m wrong, you can’t craft a full set of leather gear they can only be spawned in, you can craft the backpack tho

You can craft a knife out of bones.
That one has helped me a TON.
You can turn the bones into hooks and the guts into a rope too and you have a fishing pole right from the go
Almost any tool up against a boulder will get you small or large stones. Then you take the small stone to hand against the boulder to craft a stone knife. A pipe and a rock are a knife factory.

@@table3310 to find stones on the ground you have to be in the area for 15 minutes like with fruit and shrooms. The tool method is much easier, and most folks don't know you can do this. GL on your adventures.
Me and my duo keep a stack of bones minimum for that exact reason. Bone knives have saved us more than we’d like to admit

Quick tip for making a spiked bat, use hose clamps to hold the nails instead of hammering them in. This will save time and effort along with helping to retain the bat’s strength

The amount of content in this game is nuts, played it for a while but there are games that just look better and are getting there.

Lifelong friendships, the most valuable and overlooked thing in DayZ, where most people would rather have temporary loot they're just going to loose, or the brief sadistic instant gratification of killing fresh spawns in boring uncreative ways.
Slap a guy with a fish you caught and it actually says killed by ‘Name Of Fish’ instead of killed by a fish LOL. I became a lifer on DayZ after learning that and how wonderful the developers pay tribute to us players. 😊

The improvised explosive is the only thing on this list that i didnt know about honestly i just make improvised explosives by just getting a small bag filling it with grenades and pulling the pin on one and just throwing it back in the bag and trying to run away before death

Well I built the fireplace.. and u can cook with a pot .. or fryingpan on it.. not to bad.. the best thing about it is it doesn't make any smoke

Most of the craftables use that name because it's accurate:
They aren't actual fishing rods, backpacks, explosives, knives, spears, gas filters, suppressors, eye patches, gloves, footwear, shelters or camping tripods. They are improvised ones.
How to craft Lucille
I’m surprised no one has said it but you can’t actually make the leather clothes in game rn
always craft a improvised backpack in minidayz cause it will help if backpack don't spawn just need a rope and a sack with sticks btw stick needed is 4 so keep an eye for this items

Has anyone taken the time to try the bottle fish trap or snare? If so, how long does it take to catch fish/rabbits?
Ive done the fish trap. And it takes like 20 or so minutes. Think you have to be a certain distance away from it though before a fish will be trapped

Only one I didn’t know was the rope belt. But you left out bone knifes, stone knifes with two stones, stone knife with stone and a rock, rope from guts, fishing hooks, improv fishing rods, the stick thing for the camp fire, fishing traps, burlap bag without sticks, and I’m sure some other stuff.
Also, a lot of people dont realize you can craft rope out of cloth
Don't forget, those shelters also provide storage!
