Sailing an old fixer upper sailboat around the Caribbean was way more work than I ever imagined. The boat was able to get us from point A to point B but the whole time it was falling apart just a little faster than we were able to fix her. So for years as we limped around the Caribbean, we had a ton of amazing adventures, but we were slowly losing ground.
When we were given the opportunity to outfit our dream boat from the ground up, we quickly realized that building the ultimate off-grid sailboat comes with it’s own set of challenges, and compared to coastal cruising in Central America, crossing oceans with thousands of miles to the nearest land is a whole different ball game and it felt like we were finally jumping head first into the major leagues of long distance sailing.

You mentioned that you failed because it took you 10 years to do what others do in 1 year. That is not failure! That is never giving up on your dreams! Many if not most people would have given up, indeed most of us watching you would fall in the category. You are special, we admire you and experience what might have been in our lives through you. Your dreams have come through due to your hard work and dedication. Looking forward to what the next 10 years brings!

I've seen a few episodes here and there from you guys before, but not much I'll admit.. This recap series was great! It's amazing the hardships you've endured. Big applause to you! I have been trying to leave sweden for 20 years now, every time I've failed and had to come back. Lately I've felt like giving up on life since I've realized that i'll probably be stuck in this godforsaken country until I die. Just wanted to let you know that you just inspired me to try again. Thank you for that. Safe travels!

I watch quite a few sailings channels here on utube, and don’t dither if in my opinion they don’t come up to spec. Am pleased to say you on Atticus do not fall in that bracket. The last 4 week look back has been most enjoyable, thank you for them. Keep up the good work and looking forward to further ventures from the team in Project Atticus.

Jordan and Desiree, I loved this series, especially the final episode. You guys are so good at finding the mix of narrative, camera angles, editing, and sound track. Mostly though, I just love your honesty, humility and sensitivity to each other. Just a joy to watch! And, so cool to see Atticus II handle the Atlantic crossing with such courage and strength😊

You said the key word to not only in your life, but everyone’s life -“Adventure “! Life is an adventure. Some choose a much less exciting trip through life, but they have fewer great memories and don’t get as much out of life as the very Adventurous, like the 3 of you. You are very lucky that both of you share that same level of excitement for new “Adventures”! That is very rare, so be thankful for each other, the wonderful ups and downs of your exciting life and the memories you will share together!
Great summary videos! I really enjoy watching your “Adventure “! Keep up the exciting trip through life! 😊

We are on our final 2000 mile journey back to the Chesapeake where we will sell our beloved MeiHua (Allures 45.9). It’s been really interesting watching you guys go through this whole journey over the years, from newbies with no clue to seasoned sailors and a family aboard. So happy you guys stuck with it. There’s so many times you could have easily given up! Or, one of the two of you could have, but you stuck together. That’s probably one of the most overlooked aspects to boat life with a family. It’s the difficulty of keeping everyone ONBOARD!

Your memories brought back my memories. Your sailing across the Atlantic reminded me of being on an 82' in Viet Nam for a year. Twenty years in Coast Guard I experienced rough seas but VN I think was the worst. Luckily I only got seasick once and that was in Gulf of Mexico on a 165'. Don't see how you can function while seasick. Look forward to your videos. Been following you since Atticus 1. Good job editing these last 4.
