That thing sounds like another world...it must be the most futuristic synth Korg have made yet. I'm glad they left the very distinctive diamond shape around the vector joystick. That is what makes the look of this syth.
I've just bought the Wavestate and having watched various RUclips video tutorials I found this one the best for ease of understanding in how to get started using this amazing instrument. Thanks.
Had the wavestate for a week and the online tutorials move way to fast for me . But this is perfect even if I do have to read subtitles , I shall now go give it another go following this . Thank you sir
Thank you for the great synth review! I’ll definitely be getting one. It was a tough choice for me between Minilogue XD and this machine. Looks like the wavestate requires much more in depth studying, but once mastered this guy is a killer. Looking forward to many sleepless nights :) In fact I think it’s pretty close to what NI’s Massive X software synth is. Except you can have a unique preset for essentially every note you play. That’s mind blowing.
I have had my wavestate since July/August of last year, it has so much depth to it and is a lot of fun to play - and your review / tutorial here was very good, thank you.

This sounds great and the price is fair. But I don't understand the packaging. Why do you want a 3-octave keyboard on a polyphonic synth? Either make it as a module or put a proper 5 octave (at least) keyboard on it. As it is, fitting it into my rack setup is quite difficult.
its perfect for people like me who are limited in space, and i find it more immediate than having a rack / desktop version, although i agree one of those would be better for people who want to use it with a full keyboard
Peter Walker I know somewhere in your mind that made sense, but spoken out loud... it doesn’t. The Wavestate has all the sounds of the Wavestation and MORE. Fully programmable on the fly. In my opinion the only thing it lacks is an app or a full editor for pc/Mac. It’s portable and can be upgraded when Korg puts out updates. He didn’t even show you how many of the sounds are manipulated by the mod wheel too. I’ve had it over 3 months and still exploring and finding new things it can do. Wait until the price drops or get it used. This thing is so much fun
The writing is translator. :) The korg wavestate is so bad that I had to throw up. The sound alone, worse is better. I just waited for that, now I am a proud owner of Korg Wavestate. I just bought and I hope so, I love Synthwave and I've looked a ton of Keyboard Synths and this seems to have the right roots for it, guess I'll find out. Though I saw some more expensive ones that have access to similar Synthwave type sounds they didn't seem to be as fun as this Wavestate.
@@wisildur You're welcome! The only other one I saw that is damn cool is the Hydrasynth but I don't think I have the knowledge to truly push it the way it deserves. Maybe next year. I want to work my way up to things like that. But you know the Wavestate just sounds like a dream literally. Hope you get or find a Synth that inspires you. 🤗
@@wisildur Hey I'm back I want to give you some more advice info before you spend your money. I have it now but haven't used it yet because I have alot of other things to connect. But I learned that if you get Pro 1 by Behringer and some kind of midi controller it makes similar sounds to synthwave only thing is you have to know how to change knobs sounds on your own thats the only problem with that because its not patches it's all manual and I guess alot of learning. I intend to get a Pro 1 also when the price is right maybe not sure yet.
Hey Wis I hope you're still out there and see my message, I had more time to finally play it, i'm gonna have to say this wavestate is wayyyyy complicated, so I'm gonna say it will probably take a loooong time to get synthwave out of this unless you're some kind of pro with patches. So I'll say easiest and best way is use a simple midi keyboard and something else like synthwave pack or something, anyways to a noobie like me the wavestave is way over my head right now to make synthwave that's what i'm trying to say, hope that helps. The pdf manual is wayy huge too. 😀

Can this be connected to a midi keyboard ..I have a novation impulse with after touch

No, it has more than 3 octaves, you can switch up and down. I guess you meant to say that it has 37 keys.
