- The 2023 Ibis DV9 V2 Hardtail was just announced and I'm lucky enough to have one in to talk about and ride. Today we take a first look at this completely redesigned bike to see what's going on under the hood. I'm extremely impressed by what I see. What do you think? What did Ibis do well, and what did they miss? Where would you ride this bike?

Every time I watch HTP a new bike for the list it’s over a hundred bikes 😂 ✨✌️
XT build purchased. Thanks for the review.
Bike looks awesome. I'd also be curious to hear how you feel this compares to the Team Marin 2, especially considering the ~$1k price difference. I just picked up a TM2 based on your review and 100% agree that these bikes fall into a special and under-appreciated category
I'll try to remember to compare the two a bit in my ride review.
Totally agree that many people are over-biked. I see so many enduro style bikes on my local trail system, and the popular downhill is a flow trail with no chunk. I'm faster on it on my xc bike than on my Switchblade, and it is more fun on the hardtail. This Ibis looks amazing.
Great over view! I bet this bike would be pretty rad on some of our all day biking adventures. 🤩 I'd love to see how the frame rides with a light rider like me compared to the last version. If it feels a little gentler, it could be a good black canyon Trail bike.🤔
PERFECT black canyon trail bike. You've gotta take it out on the trail and review it, since you're even more familiar with the v1 dv9 than I am.
Listening to you makes me want this bike. You could be an Ibis salesman Steve! I’m excited for the review!
I fell in love with the first DV9 from your review and used your patron service when I bought a used one. It’s been an amazing bike and I’ve never felt like it’s held me back. Really looking forward to the ride review of this new DV9. Very curious to how this bike compares to your previous DV9 with the angled headset.
I really like the angled top tube. I’m 5’10 in a medium with short legs and the added stand over looks nice.
Last time I weighed it, my DV9 checked in at 25 lbs and I’ve made a number of upgrades since. Never thought I’d be a weight weenie but I love how this bike is so nimble and just flies.
Thanks for the review. Looking forward to seeing it on the trail.
Agreed on the high engagement hubs on hardtails. Looks like they took some feedback you shared about the Yeti Arc and implemented into their own design. Such a good looking rig. Thanks for the content.
I agree. It’s the most interesting, versatile and modern hard tail on the market. You can’t beat that weight, and smartly spec’d. I want one. The bend in the tt and square looking seat tube at the BB is immediately recognizable as an Ibis, no logo needed. I like it.
I don't know of any other reviewer who physically verifies the tire clearance. When this was released, I was hoping it would fit 2.8 Rekons.
Thanks. It's extra time and energy, but I try my best to provide as much useful info as possible.
This is my favorite feature of your videos. I love 29x3. Honestly that’s the #1 reason I bought the Maniak. Btw I put a Vigilante 2.8 on 40i rims on the original DV9 and it fit everywhere except the seat tube (even with that groove they put in). That new seat tube is genius.
I am running 2.8 x29 recons on 45id rims! Love it!
Mine will be here Tuesday, had been looking for a hardtail the last year and basically stuck between full on XC or Hardcore Hardtail. But this split the difference exactly where I wanted. As you said " Bravo Ibis!"
Beautiful bike… I need to get to this “party”. Nice review thanks!
Seems like my jam. I love hardtails with 140 forks. Nice job Ibis
Nice stuff, glad I found your channel yesterday. I'm in the market for a new HT, and bike shopping these days is quite overwhelming. The trails near me in Denver are steep and rocky. I'm going to check out your used bikes, but I'm def looking forward to your review of this new Ibis. 🙏🏼
It sounds like you'd benefit from my bike consultation service..when you get close to pulling the trigger, if you're still not settled, I recommend becoming a patron for a month.
It doesn't just fit, It fits! Funny. Beauty of a bike.
So excited. Can't wait to see the ride review. At $1500 for a carbon frame with those specs and lifetime warranty this is a deal. This bike would do really well in our tight in the trees singletrack that are not well designed for the super slack rowdy geometry. Great review as always. Of course if it has a super stiff jarring ride than its probably not the ride for all day missions. Comes down to how it ride and I am really looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
Just rode mine yesterday and it was awesome. Kinda feels like an aggressive gravel bike. Super responsive, easy to handle and very comfortable for being a hardtail. Climbs really well too. Looking forward to testing it on more aggressive trails that I ride with my Full Suspension. If it handles it well which I believe it will, Adios to my full suspension. Not really needed anymore.
That’s great. I am planning to get one too. If you don’t mind me asking, do you find it fits large, small or equivalent to standard sizing? I am always between sizes
@@milesholland6826 Hey Miles, I think it's equivalent to standard. I'm just over 5'11" and Ibis told me I'm absolutely a size Large. You can double check with them. Just shoot them an email. They're pretty quick respond. My Large DV9 feels perfect whereas my Large Giant Trance X feels huge. Never really enjoyed riding it.
@@mruizsr thanks so much for replying! I tried reaching out to ibis and they said I could go either way. I am 6’1.5” so right between L and XL. Some larges can feel just too small, but usually they work. Sounds like it was a perfect fit for you! Nice
@@milesholland6826 Hmmm...the Large feels pretty on point for me. You're 2"+ taller than me. The Large might feel too small for you. It's significantly smaller than my Giant Trance X. Possibly by as much as 5-6" in length. Ibis did a great job on this one. I can't recommend it enough. It feels amazing and so much fun to ride. Can't wait to see how the ride review goes.
@@mruizsr that’s great feedback. I did notice the large wheelbase is smaller than most so maybe the XL is the way to go. It’s just such a big jump in reach (470mm to 511mm!). Glad you like the bike so much! Look forward to the review as well
I respect your opinion more than anyone on RUclips!!
Thank you so much, that means a ton to me.
Steve, this offering was a long time coming. Ibis listened to the customer ( you'd be surprised who listens to you when it comes to hardtails) and produced another light XC/Trail bike that can wear different shoes. I'm a big proponent of changing shoes on your bike for the terrain rather than changing your bike. You, as a human just change your shoes, not yourself, to do different tasks. The rim and rubber sizes keep getting larger as does the spacing for gearing (what comes after superboost?) Add a set of carbon wheels? That's your race setup. Big and wide, maybe double down casings for the gnar you may encounter when your riding some of the newer "blue" trails or you're just out and can't afford a failure, say an overnighter where you don't have to pack heavy. Yeah, I'm interested, 120 to 130, but like you, around $3K sounds much more fair for NX.
Killer videos. Nice job touching on nuances that matter to experienced riders. Just ordered one for Michigan singletrack.
The only nitpick I have so far is internal cable routing. It sucks out loud. Totally a solution looking for a problem. I’d love to see a brand with balls enough to buck that stupid trend.
I feature a lot of bikes on this channel with external cable routing
NX on a 3400 hardtail...that's outrageous.
$3500 😂
Yeah overpriced for its spec it should be atleast a xt or slx drivetrain 😅😂
There's a reason they're on sale for 25% off.
Wow, this is one of not-many this years products that took me by surprise. This does look like quite capable HT!
I’m with you, a hardtail is definitely at the same as a full suspension as far as value and spending a lot on a hardtail is not an issue with me. I totally agree that IBIS did an amazing job designing this frame with tons of details that matter. Bigger tire clearance ☑️,shorter chain stay ☑️,modern Geo that isn’t too slack☑️,nice low BB height☑️,threaded BB☑️,ability to run a 150 or 170mm dropper ☑️, ability to use a 140mm fork☑️. Honestly I’m not a fan of carbon hardtail’s and mine stable is all steel and Ti frames but this is the first carbon frame that has made me consider adding it to my quiver. Thanks Steve for your detailed review, nobody does this as good as you!
Oh I’m glad you’re doing this review. I noticed awhile ago that the frame has had changes which I thought you would like 😊
Glad to see a review, finally! This bike has been out a while, and aside from the press release, there hasn’t been any other coverage.
With all of the holiday sales late last year, I had been stockpiling parts for a “light”(weight) carbon XC-trail build, and when this came out, I purchased the frame. A lot of what you mentioned (2 bottle cages, threaded BB, ISO brake mounts, UDH) were what drew me to this frame. I wish it had adjustable dropouts (later-in-life singlespeed advocate) and toptube and under-the-downtube mounts, but we can’t have everything. . .I’m not a fan of the toptube bend, but I have a long torso and shorter legs, and the long reach and low standover combo was appealing to me.
I haven’t had time to build it up, yet, but I’m looking forward to it (and your review). . .
Wow, Ibis knows what they're doing. Short chainstays, moderate wheelbase on which you doesn't feel like you riding 29er, modest head angle.. love it
My question is: how do they know what they're doing if the chainstay on size S is the same for the size XL? I mean, we can all agree the bikes will handle differently depending on size, right? Different front-back proportions altogether.
@@mircea5013 I think there always was some “discrimination” against tall people , most bike frames (and all air suspension , carbon parts etc) optimized for medium and small people :) so I think it’s a quest for XL guys to find a manufacturer and a frame that got it wise
Previously my dream hardtail was Yeti Arc. But this Ibis with 130mm fork should be better (at least on paper). I ride Stumpjumper (130/140) and NS Eccentric Cromo (140), they have similar travel, but definitely ride differently. Would like to have even more difference between hardtail and fullsus, so Stumpy Evo (150/160) and this Ibis with 130 fork would be a perfect combo for me))
Sweet that you could run 2.8s. Nice that the frame only runs $1500! That's much cheaper than the Spot Rocker. Wish it had sliding dropouts though! Can't wait to see your ride review!
My niner has drop in head set, worked flawlessly since 2015.
75 seat tube might be the money. The 77 deg seat angles push me right on my hands on long rides
I'm thinking that this whole steep STA = better is nonsense. Maybe for some people, but is this a general truth? Maybe I'm wrong, but a steep STA means you're more over the BB, right? This means that if you have longer legs (thighs), your feet will end up far more back than they should. Because when your pedals are paralel to the ground and you have your feet on them, the tibia and thigh should be roughly perpendicular. So, consequences are: improper position on the bike => knee pain and other related issues. Also, your weight will be pushed forward, on the handlebars (which, by the way, is the reason why I hate pure XC bikes with low stack).
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but too steep STA isn't for every body type. I'd say the longer legs you have (proportionally) the worse it gets.
PS: Tested an "old' 73deg STA. Felt great to me..
nice bike for sure! it is crazy how bikes are reviewed these days as time goes on. love the new geometry but also love the bikes of the past few years . Do it all vs razors edge. Love both!
So glad you got this one in for review! I really wanted the previous version but held off due to not finding a used one for a good price. Bought a different frame in the interim & then Ibis came out with this one right after, lol! This one is on my short list of future hardtail purchases.
I’m so excited about this review, I just bough the same color frame size medium from Jenson for a great deal. I have the Team Marin 2, I bought it based on your review and I will swapped all the parts from my Marin to built the Ibis. Thank you for your helpful reviews.
There's good reason to be nervous of CB pedals. I know a lot of people that ride them, and they all say "I have no problem get out of egg beaters at all...". I'm happy for you if that's the case, but I can't ever seem to get the kind of consistent and effortless release out of them that I can with a SPD pedals.
I think it's because release with e-beater mechanism is totally rotation-dependent in order to work. If you don't rotate all the way to the release point - for whatever reason - they are not going to release unless you rip the cleat out of your shoe (I can hear CB guys saying "well, duh... Isn't that what you want?" Me: "NO"). The thing that impeded my release was that, based on where I run my cleat (all the way back) and the size of my feet (11.5), sometimes if I were at the 3o'clock or 9o'clock crank arm position, my toe would hit the crank before I had rotated enough, and I'd be stuck clipped in. I tried the recommended cleat positions, switched shoes, and even tried the "dremmel mod", which actually worked, but then I didn't get the retention I wanted.
When the egg beater pedal came out in 01', I was instantly in love with the minimal aesthetic and elegantly simple mechanism compared to all the tiny springs, pressed-in pins, and stamped metal parts in an SPD. I went out and bought some, and spent the next month coming home from my rides with less flesh than I started with. I really wanted them to work, so I gave them more time than I should have. I still think they are a really cool design, that unfortunately, just doesn't work as well for me as SPD's.
Excellent and in depth review. The DV9 has been on my radar for a while and with the new updates I finally decided to pull the trigger! Had to sell my chameleon though. Used your jenson link as well! :)
Steve, regarding your last question of the video... I'd run a 120mm fork to preserve the reach measurement (size M), but possibly look at something like a Pike Ultimate and take a slight weight penalty for the more sophisticated damper (vs. a 35mm chassis SID, specifically).
The straight Seattube with offset to the BB is something we see a lot more often on recent fullsuspension bikes.
The first one I remember was the 2022 Orbea rallon. Now the Transition Smuggler and the new Canyon Neuron follow this design aswell.
Its weird how knolly chooses to sue some companies over that and ignore others.

Can't wait for your ride review
Thanks, I just filmed it this morning (now to go into the cave and edit it for several hours). In fact, I filmed 4 reviews this week. Lots of exciting stuff in the pipeline. I'm excited to share my thoughts on this bike in the review.
@@hardtailparty Excellent - yours is the first channel I look for new stuff on. Keep up the excellent work
Looks like the perfect trail bike 😊
Well done Steve. A very in depth look at what could be “the bike”. I have a 130mm full suspension for all around riding but something like this would be my grab and go bike for the singletrack 5 minutes away from my house. I would also use this to ride the rail trails when it is too wet to be on the singletrack especially coming in at a weight 5 or 6 lbs lighter than my full suspension. Thanks for the video Steve. 👍
I have a Paradox V3. Best bike i have ever had. This Ibis is looking very nice though.
This frame is amazing! Love it!
I’m stoked, I’m moving to Clarkdale in a little over a month. Hoping I run into you on the trails in Sedona.
Welcome to the neighborhood. I post my group rides over on Instagram..I'm sure our paths will cross on day
Straight lines may be esthetically pleasing but what Ibis did here is also pretty nice. I like that you brought up that Ibis is a bird because I can see that in the bike, whether intended or not
Same here. It's definitely intended. Their designer loves swoops curves and I think it sets the Nike apart because of that.
Wow, Steve - thia was one of your best bike reviews imo. Ibis deserves all your praises. It's such an amazing looking and designed bike. Can't wait to see the ride review. I can tell how excited you are for this model. And i love how you described this hardtail catergory in general. It sounds so true what you say and your enthusiasm is contagious 😊
I like the kink in the top tube. It lowers the standover and it looks like the neck of an Ibis bird. I think all of there mountain bikes have it.
I'm a huge fan of the 2015 Rockhopper. Excellent geometry and it picks up speed way better than my GT Avalanche 2020 :)
Wow ! great video . i'm going rigid on my 98 avalanche le tonight or tomorrow. I'm going old school for a while
😳😳25 pounds! Wow!! I absolutely love my Santa Cruz chameleon mx but it weighs more than 30pounds I’m hoping they do a carbon version again can’t wait to see the ride review for this one ☝️
I really wish they would've straightened out the top tube... I know aesthetics aren't everything, but it would look so much better.
that's the ibis curse lol
Looks are subjective, def an advantage in standover and ride feel.
bro, you're killing me. every video you put out, I'm like, "I need that". I finished my bike build template using Neuhaus Hummingbird in Ti but I am not sure if that's what I want. I know this is where your expertise comes in and I'd say I'm ready to talk. I assume I need the 100 patron to take some of your time and help point me in the direction. Neuhaus, Spot Rocker, Sage, and there's another I can't remember right now. Titanium, carbon or steel!?
FYI I'm nutty about weight. my Neuhaus Hummingbird (assumed frame weight of 1815g) in titanium comes to a total of 24-25lbs
the $50 bike consultation tier is what you need. I'd be happy to help you over there.
@@hardtailparty done 👍
My 2022 Honzo DL is doing the same thing with the forward positioned seat tube. Fits 29x2.8 Coronados on 35i wheels with 5+mm clearance all around. Could possibly fit a 3" with the dropouts slid back. Frame was 1/3 the cost of the Ibis with fairly similar geo. Love that bike, but like you said in your review, it can feel a bit harsh on smaller tires. Problem solved for me by going for 2.6" tires+rear insert. The Kona is a great affordable frame-only option. Would recommend to anyone looking at the dv9, but can't quite afford the Ibis.
Had the previous gen dv9; couldn't do 2.6 tires with adequate clearance on the stock wide rims due to that slack seat tube. Nicely made bike, bike but wasn't very exciting to ride on my trails. That said, I like Ibis as a company, and I have a sentimental connection to the DV9. Hoping that this bike does well (eg: preferable to yeti!) In your tests Steve.
Another great first look and your excitement only makes the review that much more wanted!!!! Looks like Ibis did a great job revamping this hardtail!!! Can’t wait for you to break it down and compare it to the other great bikes in this category👍👍!!
Reminds me a bit of my Honzo CR, I’m sure it will rip! looking forward to your ride review 👍🏼
a frame up build with XT parts off pink bike would be well worth it. Cheaper and better then the sram builds they offer. Overall the bike looks so good. Will be building one up soon but scared i won't ride my full sus xc anymore :)
I really need a bike like this. I'm so close to buying a Niner Air 9 frame but the PF BB puts me off. Not a fan of the internal cable routing on the DV9 but it ticks all my other boxes, and the Purple Crush paint job option looks awesome! 💜😎
Sweet category of hardtail for sure. Love the geo, the color, but not the frame shape (I think the rocker looks better there). I agree completely with the GRIP 1 damper comments. I just got in a Step Cast 34 factory and unfortunately it has the FIT4... testing in progress.
Please review FAIRLIGHT HOLT
and Mason Raw
I can't think of a single things I'd change on this build. Love the geo, shorter travel and weight. Where I ride, this would be more bike than you'd ever need!
Tire clearance is Spot on.
My reaction when I saw the geo was that they took it a bit too far. I'm happy with the shorter chainstay, but I think the 470mm reach on the large is just too much of a jump from the prior DV9 which was 422mm. I was hoping they would maintain a bit of a CC feel with the new one and have the reach in the 460mm range.
I was surprised at the long reach of the L too. I'll try to remember to mention this in the ride review. The large was only a 422 before?
Yeah that’s brutal… for full sized adults you can just downsize but for some of us fun sized adults or kids we have no chance :(
@@hardtailparty Sorry, my mistake. The reach on the old DV9 was L/435 and M/418 (from the IBIS website). It's only the reach, nothing else on the new DV9 has increased quite that dramatically. Curious to see what you think during the ride review.
then buy a smaller frame?
Fork length is an interesting one! I feel like a 120mm seems like the best option here though.
I had to think this through with the Ragley Big AL im building up at the moment. Was originally planning to go for a 130mm fork but ended up changing my mind and going for a 140mm Fox 34 performance. I should finally have the bike finished in June so very keen to see if I'm happy with my choice in fork!
I've been waiting for this one...
Awesome to see the DV9 is back! I wonder if I can rent one of these while I'm in California next week 🤔 I would also like to see how it compares to my Rocker.
They're different for sure.
I was still watch all ur videos was such a hardtail guy until my nuckproof mega and parks just no going back still have my scout maybe build it to play with but for fast dh and jumps I went to the dark side lol
The geometry looks very similar to my Ghost Nirvana Tour. Same chainstay length and similar reach as well as the offset seat tube. The only downside to my Ghost is that I can only fit one bottle cage into my frame and the seat tube is 440mm on a medium. But this bike is looking good. Im looking forward to the ride review
Oof, a 440mm seat tube wouldn't work for me. Glad to hear you dig it otherwise.
Another excellent review, I love my current HT but have wanted the SPOT for awhile and now I want this DV9! Don't see 2 hardtails being a reality though since I really also want FS XC race bike (especially after last nights race on cobbles... ouch!) and need a new FS trail bike first... Anyway, well done!
It's an exciting time to be shopping for hardtails. Fortunately I have both bikes here in my shop and I can compare the two. I'll talk more about the comparison between the two in the review.
Sweet mocha color and bike, awesome bike!
How about an alloy version with a 130 fork and a degree slacker like Ripley AF?
That'd be fun.
He's looking good
Have a 140 fork on my Arc, love it. Really curious to see what your ride review is….
Def not an integrated headset guy either. I like options :D
Can you elaborate sometime why you prefer external routed brakes? Maybe on the next HT that has that.
Because disconnecting a brake line, dripping fluid all in your frame, and then re-bleeding is an unnecessary set of steps. External routing makes brake swaps/maintenance a lot easier.
Ibis making XC great again
I hope this is the start of a trend, my current list of lightweight trail rather than pure XC race hardballs that I'd like is pretty much limited to the Yeti ARC. We need more lighter weight options without the twitchy Geo!
Check out the spot rocker too.
@@hardtailparty doesn’t seem to be available in the UK unfortunately! But I’ll do some more digging
@@JamesMkII I recommend contacting them directly to see if they ship to the uk
65 mm BB drop. That's almost gravel bike territory. Again, short stays - great for where you live Steve, but here on tech climbs with wet roots, or dry pebbles, that's a spin out waiting to happen.
We have plenty of kitty litter and dry pebbles here. My technique (and body shape) definitely suits short stays, buy I know a lot of people like you who much prefer loner stays.
Love the SC fork. This would be perfect with a proper wheelset on it, that’s the obvious missing link imo.
I agree, a really nice wheeelset would really tie this together.Their higher end builds come with great wheels.
wow that weight is insane.
I think a lot of people are in the market for an enduro fs bike at this price point but if they demo’d this side by side the enduro/trail bike weighing 10lbs more they would quickly consider the hardtail.
Depending on the trail, I wholeheartedly agree. Though $3500 is a tough price point for most companies to provide an Enduro FS. There are a few companies providing amazing values, but 80% of the companies out there have their Enduro machines starting at $4500-5000.
@@hardtailparty I wish the chain stays were a little longer on the larger sizes but there is a ibis demo coming to my city and hopefully they’ll be bringing some dv9’s.
@@brassmnky33 I hope they bring some too. I've never seen ibis bring a hardtail to a demo event, but hopefully that changes soon.
The frame only option is surprisingly affordable!
Agreed!
I retracted my post from yesterday. I mentioned I saw the price of it but I hope I didn’t make it sound like I thought it was overpriced or not worth it. I just meant It’s not in my budget yet due to just buying a bike in the fall!! I hope I didn’t come across as bashing it or negative.
It's not an inexpensive bike, that's for sure!
Slacker eff. seat tube angle for people with legs is a no go. Never considered such a frame, doesn't matter if there is a kink in the seat tube or not (as long as it's long enough to not be stuck to the longest of droppers). Ibis at least considered that and compensates it by steeper actual seat tubes for the larger frames.
Great bike, but still USD 3,500 for the base model is expensive no matter what. I would like to get my hands on a frame and throw it all the parts from my current hardtail.
Fortunately that's an option. And the price for a carbon frame is reasonable in my mind
Great looking bike, and great geo too; somewhat similar to my own bike, but with the $ 3000 price tag difference. 😂
It should come with full GX, but it compensates in other ways.
I don't have the experience you do with bikes, but I would ride this as is. My current HT has SRAM NX shifter, derailleur, and cassette, with no issues at all (3 yrs). To some, $3500 might seem steep in price, and it kinda is with the NX stuff, but one of my many "dream" bikes costs more. I love the steel version of the Esker Japhy with the Shimano XT build and the Fox upgrade package, it's around $4350. Comparatively, the Japhy with the upgrades does come with better wheels and dropper. Is it worth the extra $850? To me, yes, but if I had the cash, I wouldn't have an issue spending over $4k on a good HT. It's funny how riders overlook the small stuff and only look at whether the bike is full suss or HT and not the whole package.
That color BTW, is gorgeous in my opinion.
I dont know if anybody already asked you this, but have you considered reviewing stif squatch? Also, I am looking for new fun/not so long hardtail and it seems like rsd middlechild would be ideal for me, is there any similar bike in the same price range?
yes, I've been trying to get one in for review for years now. sadly, no luck.
I find all Ibis bikes not very good looking (to me) but I've only heard praises on how they ride.
I’m curious as to where this bike would fit when compared to the Spot and your RSD? It seems pretty versatile given the fact it can take 2.6 and also be a legit XC bike since it can take a 100mm fork
Will you ever get a chance to review a procaliber? I know theyve been out for a really long time and they are due for an update to keep up with every other brand, but thats what Ive been racing on and Id love to see how it compares to more niche brands like Ibis, Spot, etc.
As always, love the videos! Thanks for doing what you do ❤
I've been trying to get one, but usually the bigger the company, the tougher it is to get a bike for review. Hopefully soon.
@@hardtailparty thats weird to hear. I would have thought as a larger company, Trek would be happy to send bikes out if they have them available (they do, the procalibers usually only sell to NICA riders and coaches now).. maybe they haven't sent one because they know they're behind the ball on the hardtail XC game! Lol
Ever since the supercaliber came out, the procaliber has been left in the dust and it saddens me because I know how good of a bike they can make. They won't because of pro racers only using full suspensions now.
ProCaliber did have an update 2 years ago.
Having broken 3 of the older carbon ones including a SL. I won’t be revisiting.
Too much of an XC race machine, than a trail shredder.
Modern Geo has left the ProCaliber behind.
@@rufuswainwright8171 thats what im saying! Trek needs to up their hardtail game like they did with the roscoe and the farley. A few small updates would make the procal a great option again!
Would love for Ibis to make this in a (AF) model
Hello! You said the head tube is really short, so you expect the stack to be really low. Was it? I found the DV9 at a good price, finally, but I'd order it with a 130mm fork to raise the stack a bit.
Would you recommend this NX/GX build over the Deore build for the same price?
Really into this bike.
Sweet bike!
With a 1.5* angleset, slacking the headtube angle to 65* would improve this bike. The stock head angle not quite slack enough for me.
I think they're a bit reluctant to move too far from the xc camp. It makes sense, I assume most people buying this bike will lean more towards xc than trail, but we'll see how it does on the upcoming ride review. You could always toss a slack-r on and get it to 65* if you wanted.
Man endurance XC race bike. Throw some BERD wheels, some XT or SRAM trans on it, and Maxxis aspens🥹
I have the S35 wheels on my middlechild, think im gonna replace the rear hub with an onyx.
Have you ever ridden the Ibis Tranny? It was a geared or singlespeed belt driven bike. I wonder how the frame geometry numbers would hold up to todays hardtails.
Nope, I've never ridden an ibis tranny.
I love Ibis as a brand
And I’ve wanted a DV9 for some time. But these new color options, why?
No Black
No Ibis Blue
😢
Can you explain why the shape of the frame in your video looks different to the one on the Ibis website?
