That Aquatic Ambience feeling made this the most gorgeous track I could ever ask for from a level like this. You are the god at these chiptunes, John Tay, and this alternate project is gonna be great once it all comes together.
it would also be a tad bit consistent but i pretty much still am a composing amateur so i guess that's forgivable i think i'm about halfway done with everything so i'm excited too

I always loved these kind of beautiful stages in gaming because their songs always amaze me with the ideas the composer creates and how much their mind can wander. This reminds me of the Hallow theme from Terraria

Hidden Palace deserved to be a stage that deserved a track like this.. if that makes any sense. There's so much going on in that level from a story perspective but the devs wanted to emphasize the story in that level so the platforming's not a challenge, Knuckles goes down easy and you don't even fight Eggman despite his appearance. The stage is even more boring when playing as Knuckles. The zone always left me wanting more due to the importance of the Master Emerald. I wanted Hidden Palace to feel like Wing Fortress Zone from Sonic 2, where you're navigating challenging platforming to get into somewhere you're not wanted (the Death Egg). Then once you finally make it there you have a tough as nails boss fight with Silver Sonic and then the Death Egg Robot? That's what I wanted for Hidden Palace Zone, for the Knuckles fight to lead into an Eggman fight to build up the tension even more for the big arms and doomsday fights. Imagine Eggman was able to use the power of the Super Emeralds to turn Super like it allowed Tails to and you had to fight Super Eggman and some more crazy shit!!!
This gives me vibes of coming out of a dark corridor and emerging into Hidden Palace proper, only now as a full stage instead of a single boss fight and a cutscene.
I like the idea of this playing for Knuckles’ LRZ2 instead of the intended theme, gives more of a different feeling for the level where Sonic’s version of the level is more boisterous compared to Knuckles’ more serene and tranquil interpretation.
I see this is the only way to get original content to be seen out there these days.. naming it after an existing thing. Keep up the good work regardless.

The beauty, mysticism and awe that the area as a whole itself gives. Seemingly not quite focused on the action, and instead encapsulating the theme and beauty of it. I like that change of pace for this brief zone.

@@BComet im aware of the alternate knuckles theme, but i never really considered it a boss theme (though his theme is used as a boss theme in s3nk so i understand what you guys mean) i was just curious if he would get a boss theme exclusive to the hidden palace boss fight specifically. i dont expect it because no such theme exists in the original game, but it would be neat. (unless theres a knuckles boss theme i missed out on)
@@showsomeid there isnt a separate theme in the game. also the length of the knuckles cutscenes in game tend to not be that long so you only end up getting the full song when you fight him in hidden palace
