The commentary on the video was really insightful and interesting, thanks for letting us get a peek into your mind! I'm sorry to hear you've struggled with depressive episodes and dealing with dumb comments, but I'm grateful you're still here making music (and while still in high school; I'm jealous!), and I hope my yapping helps you feel a bit better about the comments, at least. Oh, and great music as always; Star Light's my favorite Sonic 1 song, so this is a dream come true!
Not sure if they read the replies at all, but in all seriousness. Ignore the awful comments you get. Some people are pretty ungrateful that they get to hear such talent as yours. But remember, for every bad actor there's probably 2-3 people who actually care about you and your music. Personally I really like the sonic 3 alt soundtrack and hell, you've inspired people to do something similar to other games (There's literally an undertale alt soundtrack in the works by people who were inspired by your work.) Who cares if "Doomsday zone" was full of references and unoriginal. It slapped and that's all that mattered to me and it was also pretty funny when my friend noticed the miku reference. Seriously though, I understand the pain of going through depressive episodes like thinking you're worthless, no-one likes you or other thoughts that sometimes get a little too deep. My advice is to ignore all of that junk and just do what makes you happy. Either way, please. Do not let us stop you from enjoying what you love to do. Edit: All my homies, we must hit john tay in the feels so they know how much we care about them and their music. Lend us your power!
i may not relate to depression, but to be honest, i think you should have more confidence in your work, cause your stuff is awesome like all the time! I mean this song is beautiful! That ending is gonna be in my head for the next month! *Clearly* the haters don’t know what they’re talking about. Do what you want, and let it write your story. So you can look back and say “of course im good at this look here” Let your channel be you, ya know?
my heart really aches when i read the text while listening recently it has been quite a hard time for me as well, among other things i struggle to do anything at all so sorry to hear that you were dealing with depressive issues for the course of over half a year... i do agree reading comments from videos sometimes is a mental tax on itself.. i gotta applaud you for having an unwavering mind to deliver the best you can offer though.. something i really appreciated you doing and also maintaining, i'd never have the mental capacity and integrity to do that sort of things certainly your works had inspired a lot of other young people to pursue music as a hobby as well, i felt happy knowing that there are people who still guide the blind to the right way all in all i hope everything goes well and remains improving for you, all the things youve accomplished to not go into waste due to someone making your nerves twitch... i dont really know what to say anymore but, i appreciate you, joy, for being there with me and other people in the community as we all grow together i hope it's all a pleasant time for you from now on :) (apologies for the long comment, its something that i really had in mind ever since you've gone inactive on socials, which i understand. managing life is tough..)
I honestly relate to your struggles, but if it makes you feel any better I’ll tell you this. If I didn’t discover your channel back in 2021, I wouldn’t have been inspired to practice making chiptunes until I was comfortable enough to start my own channel. :)
Your perspective on art got me choked up a bit. "It helps us grow eyes were we previously couldn't see," in particular. This has me feeling motivated and I hope I can act on it soon... Thank you for the hard work you've done.
Real sorry to hear you've been going through mental health issues this year, but I'm really glad you've got people to rely on as a support group. I've been through a rut or two, but I imagine it could be more difficult especially for an independent artist who gets a lot of questionable comments or reception to their work. Sounds like things are turning up for you again, though, so that's good! I hope you know that both your original compositions and covers bring a lot of joy to people like me. Take care of yourself! ✌️
When people have things for free, they dont think on the guy who spend countless hours making it, people never look at the credits of the countless workers who work at movies, its just sad. but theres people that care, people that know how to appreciate the small details in life. Ive been 2 years trying to make music and theyre not even a bit of what you can do with a sound chip released 36 years ago. you are an inspiration to me, you are not just a silvagunner, even though you take inspiration on songs, what you turn them into is amazing. ngl i was the guy who said "sonic music", i didnt event realize there was commentary on the songs till recently after looking at the original stuff you make, but youve opened my eyes and taught me how to appreciate the hardwork behind using trackers (im definetely struggling with furnace). Thank you for introducing me into FM music, it was exactly what i was looking for, and also thanks for giving feedback to my eardrum drilling arrangements it means a lot to me
MILLION KISSES REFERENCE!!!!!!! hell yeaaaahh also yes. yes you most definitely inspired many people lmao, you've had such a massive influence on my life in the past years that its rather insane, not only in the music aspect but also in the groups of people im in, my aspirations, my english skills, and honestly you just changed my life lmao. not even saying that to make you feel better, i actually have no idea where i would be now if it wasnt for you. so yeah, thanks i guess lol. thanks for being a huge inspiration for me and tons of other people. keep it up :P
This is fucking fantastic stuff. And my favorite song from the original game, too! I never could've dreamed that people would do stuff like this when we began cataloguing and dumping this stuff for Project2612 almost 20 years ago, but I'm happy as hell that this is the route that it's taken, and that people are continuing to breathe new life into these chips all over the internet. Don't let the negative folks get to you. You just keep on rocking exactly as you are, and do this under your terms - and nobody else's. You've found your voice - have the courage to follow it. Thanks for making my day a little brighter. I hope this comment does the same for you.
teared up reading the commentary. you've been a huge inspiration to me the past many years, so your words on the reasons one should make art made me quite emotional. sorry you haven't been doing the best lately, though i'm glad you have a loving support group who help you through the worst. there are issues in our community for sure, but im so happy you're in this community. your works seriously mean so much to me and a lot of other people too, far beyond just being "good". i've learned so much just from analyzing, transcribing, and studying your music. seriously, thank you, for being a large part of what brought me into this community 💙 love the arrangement, btw. hit the style perfectly, while still making it uniquely "you". some of your best yet (3
I know i don't normally comment, but holy fuck i just wanna say thank you. Thank you for making this. Making me download furnace tracker, making work on a song and actually finishing it. I've been trying to create music for the past two years, and I'm making a sonic fangame, so music is an important part of my personnality. I can beatbox anything, and everytime you release something, I learn it and try to sing it as most as i can, heck, i even made lyrics for ddik. I know this probably won't be helpful very much, but joy, don't forget, thank you so much for making who i am today. I probably wouldn't have a channel, hell wouldn't have started beatbox, if it wasn't for you. I can't say this enough but ill have to stop, thank you so fucking much, Joy.
I want to say as someone who has been lurking in your channel for some time, I'm really sorry that you have to deal with that kind of non-sense. It's one of the reasons why I have been so shy of putting myself out until August 2020, and in some ways I'm glad because I see what kind of a positive influence my music has towards others, and I hope yours continue to do the same during and after your lifetime.
That commentary gave this so much more meaning. You have been a notable inspiration to me for awhile and the amount of people your arrangements have an effect on is incredible. I hope soon your niche becomes better understood and people realize how much effort really goes into it. I’ve loved chiptune and fakebit stuff for years and you are genuinely one of the best artists I’ve heard in the genre. Keep it coming, tay, and to a bright future. ❤
Jeez, my heart skipped a beat when reading the commentary. You really inspired me to do music, as well as silent dreams. So seeing the situation you're in is completely unfair. I know you won't see this comment but I want you to know, Thank you. Thank you for making me happy with your music. I can relate with you because I was really depressed last and this year, but I kept going because of your music to remind me that you never give up. Of course you're not gonna read this stupid comment but that's okay. Thank you Joy. Thank you for making my life better.
i remember your old version of this, i loved it so much. hearing how much youve improved honestly makes me really happy and inspired by you. your music will always be an inspiration to me, thank you for being you
Hey, Joy, this track absolutely rocks. I just wanted to take the time to say that you've been a huge inspiration to me ever since I first stumbled across your channel. You indirectly introduced me to Deflemask and later Furnace ( which I admittedly still need to get a handle on using ), and your music constantly inspires me to do better in my own. I always try to learn what lessons I can from the way you make music, even to the point of downloading your music files so I can go back and study the way you do things -- from the way you utilize the square channels, to how you make certain rhythms work, to something as integral as how you shape your melodies. You're my biggest inspiration for how I produce chiptune music, which is a style I thought I wasn't ready to [ahem] ...delve!!! into until I came across your work. Nowadays, I consider chiptune ( FM especially ) to be an entire half of my music, the other half being what I make in FL Studio which tends to take on a completely different style. This is getting a little rambly, but to put it short: Thank you, Joy. Thank you for being such an important inspiration to me, and thank you for all the things you put out on this channel ( and over on your Twitter as well ). Thank you for introducing me to an entire musical style that I now consider an important part of my work, and showing me just how it's done, too. I hope things in your life can start really going your way soon. Thanks for sharing another incredible, special song with all of us.
Had a read through your accomodating commentary and it's unfortunate that you've been going through these personal problems this yearr, being a content creator and artist always has its fair share of drawbacks either from the social or personal aspects: not feeling like you're good enough, getting flak from others (not of the constructive criticism kind) and comments that eventually wear down the walls to be motivated with things, becoming obsessed or feel a really strong need to indirectly or directly involve yourself with whose got drawn to your works, and sometimes even having to pressure yourself to keep posting for the sake of it. The creative process and what comes with it can be super draining at times, mentally and physically (speaking from experience). That and if mental health is generally affected it can cause you to do things you may regret if you don't have any intervention It's really good to hear you have such a supportive network of people behind your back that are willing to help ground you when your mind flies too high and help you up when you fall. They'll certainly appreciate you as much as you appreciate them! And judging from the other comments here it feels like there are also tons of people that also care about your work and yourself as well, and you have helped to inspire and draw more people in with all the work that you do! You will definitely get some people here and there just casually strolling by and leaving comments that might irk you or those not in the know with niche aspects like chiptune, it definitely be what it be sometimes, but with every bad there's a diamond in the rough! Always good to focus on those who care at the end of the day! I only discovered you recently though sheer recommendation coincidence (being the Mario Paint composition), and you are probably one of the few composers for Chiptune I know with such a unique and distinct style. Every single comp you've produced oozes with creativity and always has some sort of a unique twist, be it following something more closely to the source material like the Mario Paint composition, or a remix that has inspirations from various other music genres like Synthpop or Indie like here. It's feels like an audible canvas of colours to me, every piece being a different experience each time, always carries me away with what you do! You're very strong for pushing forward still and producing things for everyone to enjoy, but know that as long as you enjoy what you're making you're guaranteed to draw others who love it just as much to you! Know you are loved and cared for by those around you, and that you will defs be inspiring a ton of people out there to pursue their own creative endeavours! But that's my lengthy two cents on the matter!
always love reading the commentary on these videos, i dont know a ton of other creators that do stuff like it its always super interesting to read. love your stuff by the way! your music makes me so happy it feels so uplifting and fun, all the little changes and little musical effects sprinkled across your take on this song hits all the right spots in my brain for me. u are a fucking genius!!!!
Hey, man, your music brought me joy on a dark day. This arrangement is really off the charts, some parts of it even reminded me of Tee Lopes' amazing work in Sonic Mania, which is one of the highest praises my mind can come off with. Thank you so much for making this and sharing it with us. I wish you a long, happy and productive life. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
4:28 your music has absolutely been an inspiration to me! I have downloaded a lot of your modules and am still learning all kinds of techniques from them. For a few years now you have inspired me to try and make music in my own style with the same attention to detail and polish as some of yours :)
Dude, reading these cheerful comments, you dont even need to feel bad when you have a supportive community, your fans (the good part, yes i know there still are some suckers). You rock man! Btw, I also love star light zone.
i did not see the commentary of this video before but i simply had to leave a comment now that i read it all i genuinely don't comment much but i want to thank you SO MUCH for doing covers like loretta and the first one i heard of gnome forest, it has gotten me to collect all trackermusic i can find and i am forever grateful for it i adore your work and i really want to see you grow more and more as time goes on, it is awesome to have these sort of songs pop on my recommended now that i have gotten into it and all i can say is just thank you for getting me into tracker/chiptune music, i legit can't thank you enough thats enough of my rant, go listen to dubmood the scene is dead whoever is reading this
Just wanted to let you know that you're one of my absolute favorite fm composers and I look forward to each and every upload. Keep on doing what you do cause it's sublime.
had it in a reply but ill put it here too! --- i may not relate to depression, but to be honest, i think you should have more confidence in your work, cause your stuff is awesome like all the time! I mean this song is beautiful! That ending is gonna be in my head for the next month! *Clearly* the haters don’t know what they’re talking about. Do what you want, and let it write your story. So you can look back and say “of course im good at this look here” Let your channel be you, ya know?
your words here have an amazing amount of worth to them. thank you so much. i havent teared up like this in a bit haha finding your works got me into chiptune properly, and, though i may be young and inexperienced, i only hope to improve at it, create it because it brings me joy. thank you for that. im sure everyone else who shares this sentiment is similarly grateful. daily troubles and terrible internal struggles may wear on my soul but its things like these that make me want to keep going. i wish you nothing but the best
Listening to this can be compared with having an amazing dream. This rearrangement is just somethin'. I love it, and the sounds are absolutely incredible. Thank you for making such a masterpiece
"I hope that my music, original or not, has inspired you to be creative and start anything artistic" It did for me. I used to go to piano classes, and then quit for quite a few years. Some years later, even when not going to piano clases, I discovered that I could play songs by ear, one of them being one of your songs (to where no soldier has returned). We could say that your music helped me discover that I could still develop my skills at piano. I retook piano classes, and performed at a recital. I even played that song of yours there! (I think you saw it, I posted the video and all) You, among some other things, were one of the reasons I wanted to get better at piano, and music and general. Thank you c: PD: MY GOD, THIS SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL
As a long time fan since the mere beginning of your channel, the way you've improved your covers and original songs in such a short time is honestly really outstanding! This sounds so beautiful Thank you for always motivating me to keep making music, and can't wait to see more of your works in the future
im so glad i took the time to take in what you had to say in the text commentary, genuinely some inspiring and incredibly relatable stuff in there and it further cements my respect and appreciation for you as an arranger. seriously i often start and end my day listening to what you make because it has such a clear love for the craft within all the little finetunes and details that nothing else i listen to can easily compare. i love seeing you try new chips and extensions and such, even if i admittedly still am not well versed as to how it all works yet (although tracking and arranging is definitely something i would love to take the time to learn in the future) i can still quickly figure out the meaning of those changes and that sense of purpose makes me respect the arrangements even more. sorry for yapping so hard in a comments section but i thought you would like to know that i, like so many others, love your work for so much more than it "aounding good", cant wait to see what else you have planned for the future but no rush!
I really should be commenting more often. I listen to your tracks all the time and have a bunch of your stuff in my daily playlist. Needless to say, I think your work is really incredible. The original motifs and flare you add to any cover is always a positive addition, to the point where if I heard a random unknown song I could probably tell if you were involved? Maybe? I should test that lol. There's this fun jazzy flare you add to the end of your melodic sequences that is distinct and that I really enjoy. Also, my favorite game of all time is Dynamite Headdy and I swear I can tell the exact moment in your music career that you played it and also seemed to fall in love with the soundtrack. It changed you forever! I really enjoy that you are able to tangibly incorporate all these different influences into your work, and you're not afraid to play around with that. And to top it all off, you're high school age and this talented? That's crazy, man. I'm a few years shy of 40 and hearing someone so young do amazing things with my favorite soundtracks from my own generation's childhood is wild. I am so glad you're here and doing what you do. I hope you continue!
'ey Tay! i know you very much will not recognize me, but i'm quite the old viewer of your channel, remember the time you did that Megalovania B Rush cover? dang that was such a long while ago... just came here to say that your songs have inspired me to try out chiptune music, i love your work, i love to see the dedication to make what you love, it's great, video game music has always been a big part of my life and i can't get enough of the covers and original compositions you make with these old console chips!
Thanks 4 being so open about ur journey thru all this Joy, where i won't deny that u managed to endure quite the struggles, seein a talented and dedicated artist such as urself grasping with these issues well into ur journey makes me feel silly 4 even being scared of even taking the first step into making tracker music. We all individually grapple with our own personal issues, and while each struggle is unique, it's nice to know that we're not alone in that regard. I wanna be able push thru and make that kinda change too, startin now is as good a time as any!
Thank you for continuing to share your art and talents with the world, even when things are personally difficult for you. Your music helps me and countless others keep going. ❤
Lovely arrangement, and thank you for the commentary! ^_^ I'll admit, you were one of the handful of chiptune artists that got me into tracker writing! You're a big inspiration to me and other people in the community, dont ever forget that. I'm only a stranger, but I'm sorry that youve been feeling that way for months. I was in the same spot myself and like you said, having good support will help you significantly. o7
I can't really add anything that hasn't been said, but. I cannot overstate how much I love your compositions. Your music and art have gotten me through some rough times of my own, and inspired me to continue pushing for my own artistic goals - please. Don't let the world get to you. I know it's easier said than done. Never give up what makes you happy.
This is probably my favorite rendition/mix/thing-related-to SLZ I've ever seen. Sorry to hear you're struggling. Keep the self-awareness and always mind the perspective. Don't get dragged down by things that shouldn't deserve it for too long. I do that a lot. Teenage me could have stood to do that more for sure.
oh my god i love this. the commentary hit me hard and combined with the music and stellar arrangement i literally almost cried. genuinely one of your best works.
While I don't know a lot about music, I know that your songs and arangements have a vibe to them that never fails to get me in the groove. I think it's wonderful how you create music and art that appeals to you, and discovering how much I enjoy it too ❤
The commentary really struck a chord with me, and i can relate to a lot of what you're going through, and im glad you have those who are there to help and support you through it all
Hopping on the support train. I've been such an active follower of your work since that commissioned Hydrocity 2 arrangement, and it is SO clear how much fuller and more rounded your music has gotten. You're doing incredible work, and you don't deserve to deal with the lethal amounts of stupid in the comments. I know what it's like to struggle with strong bouts of depression, and I hope you take the time you need for you, and for your own creative work. I'll be listening when you do! Also your LAST Star Light arrange made me ascend and this has topped it twice over.
I appreciate you bearing your soul in some part in this video with the commentary. Somehow it made the arrangement feel even more important and relevant than it just being another upload (and a brilliant one as usual, no less!) I look forward to hearing what you do with your own projects after this of course, and thank you for your epic Sonic jams! 🎉
I think is genuinely the best version of Star Light Zone I've heard so far This genuinely goes so insane Though dang, reading through that text while did kinda hit me. I hope things get better for you mate!
What a beautiful song and a nice commentary! Your music has inspired me to keep drawing, I listen to the sonic and knuckles alt soundtrack almost everyday and it always get me in the mood to draw. Thank you!
im just glad to know there is someone out there my age who actually does this shit and does it too good like you are NOT normal and i even like your original stuff to, not just the sonic stuff keep going I am sure you like what you are doing and thats all that matters I wish I got into trackers and DAWs when i was in middle school probably still could but dont know where to start you are a lucky individual
Commentary was pretty insightful, I liked it. Honestly, disconnecting from like, getting invested into reading comments and stuff... most definitely isn't healthy. Real life goes hard. Other than that, good music and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year and every other following.
Don't too hard on yourself. I've seen tons of dumb comments myself on other channels and I just ignore them. Focus on the better ones. By the way, this remix is amazing. The 2x ym2612 and sn76489 was a great choice.
-Mom, what are these two mega drives doing?
-They're making an arrangement, dear.
The commentary on the video was really insightful and interesting, thanks for letting us get a peek into your mind! Oh, and great music as always; Star Light's my favorite Sonic 1 song, so this is a dream come true!
Of course, it's Dream come true, it's a name of the band!))😂
Get it?)

It slapped and that's all that mattered to me and it was also pretty funny when my friend noticed the miku reference.

Do what you want, and let it write your story. So you can look back and say “of course im good at this look here”
Let your channel be you, ya know?
I hear some of that Ginger Root influence. Fantastic track.
(EDIT:) THE WAY YOU INCLUDED THE BOBBY CALDWELL AND DCT MOTIFS IS ABSOLUTE GENUIS
Actually the start sounds like loretta's intro
my heart really aches when i read the text while listening
recently it has been quite a hard time for me as well, among other things i struggle to do anything at all
so sorry to hear that you were dealing with depressive issues for the course of over half a year... i do agree reading comments from videos sometimes is a mental tax on itself..
i gotta applaud you for having an unwavering mind to deliver the best you can offer though.. something i really appreciated you doing and also maintaining, i'd never have the mental capacity and integrity to do that sort of things
certainly your works had inspired a lot of other young people to pursue music as a hobby as well, i felt happy knowing that there are people who still guide the blind to the right way
all in all i hope everything goes well and remains improving for you, all the things youve accomplished to not go into waste due to someone making your nerves twitch...
i dont really know what to say anymore but, i appreciate you, joy, for being there with me and other people in the community as we all grow together
i hope it's all a pleasant time for you from now on :)
(apologies for the long comment, its something that i really had in mind ever since you've gone inactive on socials, which i understand. managing life is tough..)

THANKS FOR THE HEART! :D Like I said on your other video, you should really upload more videos with your singing!
Your perspective on art got me choked up a bit. "It helps us grow eyes were we previously couldn't see," in particular.
This has me feeling motivated and I hope I can act on it soon... Thank you for the hard work you've done.

I know you won't see this comment but I want you to know,
Thank you. Thank you for making me happy with your music. I can relate with you because I was really depressed last and this year, but I kept going because of your music to remind me that you never give up. Of course you're not gonna read this stupid comment but that's okay.
Thank you Joy. Thank you for making my life better.
4:51 WAS THAT KUSURIYUBI NO KESSHIN?????
THIS IS IT!! THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTEE !! AWESOME!! :DD
This track sounds like it'd be delicious if it were food
i remember your old version of this, i loved it so much. hearing how much youve improved honestly makes me really happy and inspired by you. your music will always be an inspiration to me, thank you for being you
Hey, Joy, this track absolutely rocks.
This is getting a little rambly, but to put it short:
Thank you, Joy.
That and if mental health is generally affected it can cause you to do things you may regret if you don't have any intervention
It's really good to hear you have such a supportive network of people behind your back that are willing to help ground you when your mind flies too high and help you up when you fall.
But that's my lengthy two cents on the matter!
bro is becoming God
always love reading the commentary on these videos, i dont know a ton of other creators that do stuff like it its always super interesting to read. love your stuff by the way! your music makes me so happy it feels so uplifting and fun, all the little changes and little musical effects sprinkled across your take on this song hits all the right spots in my brain for me. u are a fucking genius!!!!
John, I don’t know what you did but this is a freaking banger man 10 out of 10
Hey, man, your music brought me joy on a dark day. This arrangement is really off the charts, some parts of it even reminded me of Tee Lopes' amazing work in Sonic Mania, which is one of the highest praises my mind can come off with. Thank you so much for making this and sharing it with us. I wish you a long, happy and productive life. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Reading your thoughts while listening to your work was very emotional. This is a lovely video.
Btw, I also love star light zone.
i did not see the commentary of this video before but i simply had to leave a comment now that i read it all
i genuinely don't comment much but i want to thank you SO MUCH for doing covers like loretta and the first one i heard of gnome forest, it has gotten me to collect all trackermusic i can find and i am forever grateful for it
i adore your work and i really want to see you grow more and more as time goes on, it is awesome to have these sort of songs pop on my recommended now that i have gotten into it and all i can say is just thank you for getting me into tracker/chiptune music, i legit can't thank you enough
thats enough of my rant, go listen to dubmood the scene is dead whoever is reading this
Just wanted to let you know that you're one of my absolute favorite fm composers and I look forward to each and every upload. Keep on doing what you do cause it's sublime.
had it in a reply but ill put it here too!

i may not relate to depression, but to be honest, i think you should have more confidence in your work, cause your stuff is awesome like all the time! I mean this song is beautiful! That ending is gonna be in my head for the next month!
*Clearly* the haters don’t know what they’re talking about.
Do what you want, and let it write your story. So you can look back and say “of course im good at this look here”
Let your channel be you, ya know?
your words here have an amazing amount of worth to them. thank you so much. i havent teared up like this in a bit haha
finding your works got me into chiptune properly, and, though i may be young and inexperienced, i only hope to improve at it, create it because it brings me joy. thank you for that. im sure everyone else who shares this sentiment is similarly grateful. daily troubles and terrible internal struggles may wear on my soul but its things like these that make me want to keep going. i wish you nothing but the best
Listening to this can be compared with having an amazing dream. This rearrangement is just somethin'. I love it, and the sounds are absolutely incredible. Thank you for making such a masterpiece
"I hope that my music, original or not, has inspired you to be creative and start anything artistic"
It did for me. (I think you saw it, I posted the video and all)
You, among some other things, were one of the reasons I wanted to get better at piano, and music and general. Thank you c:
PD: MY GOD, THIS SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL
As a long time fan since the mere beginning of your channel, the way you've improved your covers and original songs in such a short time is honestly really outstanding! This sounds so beautiful
Thank you for always motivating me to keep making music, and can't wait to see more of your works in the future
I REMEMBER THIS FROM YOUR OTHER VERSION OF THIS!!! the nostalgia ✨✨1:23
“Nice job Joy”
im so glad i took the time to take in what you had to say in the text commentary, genuinely some inspiring and incredibly relatable stuff in there and it further cements my respect and appreciation for you as an arranger. seriously i often start and end my day listening to what you make because it has such a clear love for the craft within all the little finetunes and details that nothing else i listen to can easily compare. i love seeing you try new chips and extensions and such, even if i admittedly still am not well versed as to how it all works yet (although tracking and arranging is definitely something i would love to take the time to learn in the future) i can still quickly figure out the meaning of those changes and that sense of purpose makes me respect the arrangements even more. sorry for yapping so hard in a comments section but i thought you would like to know that i, like so many others, love your work for so much more than it "aounding good", cant wait to see what else you have planned for the future but no rush!
I don't remember setting this to loop but i've been sitting here for the past hour vibing to it as i wake up, quality stuff
This arrangement of Starlight Zone is wonderful, and I hope you have a fantastic day.
Lovely arrangement, and thank you for the commentary! ^_^
I'll admit, you were one of the handful of chiptune artists that got me into tracker writing! You're a big inspiration to me and other people in the community, dont ever forget that.
I'm only a stranger, but I'm sorry that youve been feeling that way for months. I was in the same spot myself and like you said, having good support will help you significantly. o7
@@Illumernurti I had no idea Joy inspired you too and as someone who’s still struggling, I hope everything’s getting better for you! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
I can't really add anything that hasn't been said, but. I cannot overstate how much I love your compositions.
Your music and art have gotten me through some rough times of my own, and inspired me to continue pushing for my own artistic goals - please. Don't let the world get to you. I know it's easier said than done.
Never give up what makes you happy.
been struggling to sleep for a bit now and this song has soothed me down COMPLETELY? thank you!!!!
banger after banger
Really beautiful arrangement.
Was never a fan of the Starlight Zone, but always a fan of its music.
I have no words to explain how good this is...
After reading your commentary, man… I feel bad for you’ve been through.
oh my god i love this. the commentary hit me hard and combined with the music and stellar arrangement i literally almost cried. genuinely one of your best works.
This is so great, please never stop making music, you're awesome!
While I don't know a lot about music, I know that your songs and arangements have a vibe to them that never fails to get me in the groove. I think it's wonderful how you create music and art that appeals to you, and discovering how much I enjoy it too ❤
Since last year, your music inspired to go do this kind of music and i have enjoy making these kind ever since.
Keep up the good work!!
this is incredible!
damn near CD quality, well done!!!
Nice OPN2x2+SN7x2 rearrangement remix of the song, and nice adding the leitmotif of What You Won’t Do For Love to this remix!😄🤩😎👌
This is Amazing
Ginger Root and Bobby Cadwell is sure a Match in Heaven
And this is a massive improvement compared to the old cover
The commentary really struck a chord with me, and i can relate to a lot of what you're going through, and im glad you have those who are there to help and support you through it all
all of the brand new stuff in the 2nd half is tremendous! i will be having this on loop
I refuse to put this on loop, because I'd never be able to click off from it again
Keep pushing through everything, show life that nothing it can throw at you will ever be enough to stop you from living it your way!
i saw the first teaser on twitter and have been SO excited for this,, you did not disappoint i love this sm omg
This arrangement strangely makes me feel like enjoying the vibe at night, I liked it.
Also your LAST Star Light arrange made me ascend and this has topped it twice over.
this is beyond a masterpiece, it's sublime.
I appreciate you bearing your soul in some part in this video with the commentary. Somehow it made the arrangement feel even more important and relevant than it just being another upload (and a brilliant one as usual, no less!)
I look forward to hearing what you do with your own projects after this of course, and thank you for your epic Sonic jams! 🎉
I really enjoy your music so much💖 keep doing what you're doing, don't ever stop ✨
it mades me think a lot of loretta!! love these citypop inspired covers youve been doing please please please keep it up
Thank you... 💙
This arrangement is top shelf. I have no words honestly. Genuinely brought a tear to our eyes. 💙💜🖤
This is my favorite sonic song ever and its on my top 10 in general. Thankyou for this beautiful rendition.
I think is genuinely the best version of Star Light Zone I've heard so far
This genuinely goes so insane
Though dang, reading through that text while did kinda hit me. I hope things get better for you mate!
I'm shocked about how you made the FM bass sound so realistic! Amazing cover!
Awesome cover, love the arps and the chords, the modal interchanges, very jazzy, the way Star Light Zone should sound.
This arrangement is so delightful. Made my morning seeing this pop up in my feed ❤
I lack words for how much I enjoy each one of your musical pieces. Thank you!
What a beautiful song and a nice commentary! Your music has inspired me to keep drawing, I listen to the sonic and knuckles alt soundtrack almost everyday and it always get me in the mood to draw. Thank you!
This song is SO GOOD!!!
I don't know how you did it but this is even better than the older arrangement. Phenomenal work, can't wait to see more in the future.
thank you
this is unbelievably good
This is wonderful and definitely my favorite of your arrangements you've done so far
beautiful
Mmm! A beautiful mix and the Sega jingle at the end? *chef's kiss* Perfect!
I hope you're doing OK now, Joy. Take care of yourself.
It's fantastic!!
im just glad to know there is someone out there my age who actually does this shit and does it too good like you are NOT normal and i even like your original stuff to, not just the sonic stuff keep going I am sure you like what you are doing and thats all that matters
I wish I got into trackers and DAWs when i was in middle school probably still could but dont know where to start
you are a lucky individual
Commentary was pretty insightful, I liked it. Honestly, disconnecting from like, getting invested into reading comments and stuff... most definitely isn't healthy. Real life goes hard.
Other than that, good music and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year and every other following.
4:03 damn this feels emotional
2:32 love wont wait by bobby caldwell motif right there !
I’m gonna cry, this is amazing.
This is the best thing I've heard all morning. I'm glad I got this notification.
My ears are in pure bliss
Don't too hard on yourself. I've seen tons of dumb comments myself on other channels and I just ignore them. Focus on the better ones.
By the way, this remix is amazing. The 2x ym2612 and sn76489 was a great choice.
This got me floating it's like 3am rn
everytime i hear this all i hear is vibe
Been my favorite Zone since I heard a version this theme on the original Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games.
The pitch change transition into Kusuriyubi no Kesshin is what got me.
Another one? Ive been blessed
