Aww, thanks! I got over the being on camera thing, but I still don't show up in all my videos. Sometimes you just hear my voice explaining what I'm doing. I haven't actually made a video for awhile since I'm not sure about continuing RUclips. We'll see!
I actually saw a guy the other day that looked just like you! I was about to walk up to him and say hi and give him a hug. Probably a good thing I didn't since it wasn't you! 😄
Love the tools & supplies you’re using! I subbed for that alone. I roll my eyes when I see nothing but fancy, expensive, top-of-the-line tools and supplies… it’s kind of discouraging to us that don’t have that kind of money to invest. Not saying you can’t have SOME of those things but when it’s nothing but expensive stuff, it’s a turn-off to me. I’m very grateful for your channel… so very creative!!
Thanks! I know what you mean. It can be hard to pay for a surfprep sanding system, a professional sprayer, top of the line chalk paint, etc. especially if you are just starting out or aren't doing this as a full time deal. I try to save money where I can and if I can find something like a used power tool, that's great too.
This. looks. AWESOME! Gives me Steam Powered Giraffe Vibes. So great! When I saw your IG photos, I was so curious and thought, theres no way those are real gears... that has to be decoupage haha Really cool work and so unique!
Thanks so much Jackie! I love how it turned out too! Aren't furniture flips great? I used to do them more often and feel like I need to get back into it.
Yea for being a first timer (me too!) Can I just say - I love that you started the video by literally flipping the piece 😄 You did a great job on this piece from the repairs to the final finish. Love the gears, the aging, beautiful!
LOVE THIS TAMMY!! I just subscribed to you amazing channel. The gears and paper drawer fronts inspired me. I really want to do a steam punk piece now. Thank you for sharing your awesome work!!
Thanks so much! Welcome to my channel and I'm so glad I can inspire you! I def want to do more steampunk stuff in the future. Was so cool to work on a piece like this!

Anything goth is right up my alley! It turned out amazing. The bones of this piece is awesome. I’m not really into steampunk but I really like the end result and could see it fit into my goth home decor. Great job! 🖤🦇
Tammy, can I just say WOW. This is one of my favorite furniture transformations I've ever seen. Definitely my favorite one from this challenge. It's seriously incredible. Very very well done.
I love how your furniture flip turned out! It looks great! The book pages are a sweet touch. Those small metal gears are amazing! And I agree, metal skulls would've been overkill. I love how you fixed that detail with the clay. I also like your detailing with the gold wax. Great job Tammie!
Hi Tammy . It’s my first time on your channel. And BOY OH BOY ! I’m So Glad I watched it and Subscribed! It Turned out AMAZING! I Just ❤️❤️❤️ it 👍 I’m Actually going to do a steampunk coffee table 😜 You’ve given me some ideas 👍 Again thank you for your video and I’ll be waiting for more to come 😊 Have an Awesome Day 🤗
Hi Ondina! Welcome and thanks for subscribing! A steampunk coffee table would be awesome! You should def send me pics when you do it. I'm on Facebook and Instagram if you want to.
Oh, who cares if you are devaluing it? It's yours and you need to love it. (or you need to sell it to someone for your business, in your case). I defy someone to tell me what to do with MY stuff. :p And I'm a historian. So there. This is so cool! I'm not usually into steampunk (more medieval or ancient), but I love this!
I'm a clay and resin crafter. Here is a tip for a cheap and reliable mold. Squeeze into a ziplock bag 100% silicone (not caulk) preferably type 1 silicone. Add slowly corn starch mush the bag and add more cornstarch. Do wear gloves ! Scoop out the silicone mush and place over the part that you want to recreate. work the silicone in to capture all the details. The cooking spray was a great idea. Let the silicone set for about 30 minutes. You will get a firm mold. Air dry clay is not a bad idea, it's not the sturdiest though. Bakeable polymer clay is a better option. Love your narrating style.
Thanks so much Mercedes! When I search Type 1 Silicone, all that comes up is caulk. Do you mean something different or just that it must be 100% silicone caulk? Sorry if I'm not understanding. I really appreciate the help!
@@TheSecondTimesaCharm I'm sorry. I should have been clearer. When I said 100% silicone, not caulk I meant the kind of silicone that can't be painted and smells like vinegar. There is low odor silicone that's #2 silicone. The caulk I was referring to is usually comes in a soft squeezable tube. The kind we need is most of the time you find it in a tube that you need caulk gun to use it. If you have any questions just let me know.
Hello it's my first time finding you and this video! I'm so glad I did! Day after Halloween but that's okay, I'm just looking for inspiration. It's ironic bc I've seen those gears and ordered some on Etsy, surprised they we're so small, but like you, was curious as to how to use them. I love the look you gave that inset of the desk. I'm not very skilled in the "steampunk" look per se', but love the look and will consider grouping some gears together on the appropriate piece. Thanks again. I will subscribe and look forward to more content!! 😎PK
Welcome Patricia! I'm glad you could get some inspiration from my video. I plan on doing the matching bench soon for this vanity and will probably be using similar techniques. The little gears are so cool aren't they? This is only my second time using them on something and my first time on furniture. The gluing part is probably the hardest since they're so small!
I have a few questions about one or two DIY furniture/decorative objects in Gothic style. Could someone from the comments or the creator of the video give me some tips? How can I communicate with you when an email address, RUclips and WhatsApp are the only social media I have?
I'm so sorry I missed this comment. If you're still interested, I can try to answer your questions. I think you can send me messages through the community part of my channel page. I don't use my account email anymore since I haven't been doing this channel for awhile, but I'd love to help. Let me know if you have problems.
🙋🏻♀️ He-ey….if you ever do another goth project, alternate gloss-black stripes with flat-black stripes. Find some Edgar Allen Poe pics and script/poetry. Maybe a stack of old books, a pen and inkwell, an old pair of spectacles some parchment paper, a raven….and a lamp. Maybe a touch of red somewhere. Your project turned out very nice! 🕷
BTW I really appreciate the soft subdued music. I either like this kind of music or no music at all thanks.
Thanks Emily! I try to keep it as much in the background as possible with more recent vids.
