    Hi Diane, I love your creations! I also like to add texture to things. I have found that using hot glue with a precision glue gun does a great job and then using a larger chip brush to lightly dry brush covers a lot of area and does a fantastic job. It is so fun to create for Halloween and I look forward to your videos; thank you!

    The tray was beautiful and definatley had a dark academia vibe, but then it was painted and transfers put on it and I was not dark academia anymore, it was just crafty cute

    I love watching/viewing a different crafter’s channel. You can learn something new from them. I have never seen needle point thread used in this method as you did on the candle stick. Thanks for sharing your technique and knowledge for the thread. If I had not seen Indie’s channels a couple of months ago, I may have not found your channel. Best wishes and happy DIYING.
    08/18/23. I am following the Dark Academia that was posted on RUclips two years ago on Indie’s channel.
    The Candle stick, the tray and the tissue box turned out beautifully for nice looking decor. Loved the moth theme.

    Have you used sander-deglosser? You rub it on things before painting them to take off the gloss, and it makes the paint stick way better. It's faster and easier than having to prime.

    Hi Linda, thanks for sharing these great ideas. You are an inspiration. You take so much time to dry brush all the areas. It took me also very long every time, but then I just started to dip my finger in the metallic paint and go over the area i wanted to dry brush and...it works perfectly.

    Using brads as screw heads...ingenious! I love this halloween stuff! I appreciate your take on the dark colors! Thanks for the ideas on using some Brocant transfers!! Do you think brown wax would work to darken the white of the flower? It still seemed a little light to me. I LOVED what you did with the candlestick. I've gotta do that!

    • @lindadianedesigns1808
      @lindadianedesigns1808  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! The black wax didn’t darken the flowers like I had hoped so I agree it’s still too white. I learn something every time.

    I'm sorry, I'm going to unload on you because I am frustrated. Every crafter I follow, And I mean EVERY crafter uses IOD transfers. I cannot afford them, they are SO expensive. Is there no less expensive choice?

    • @lindadianedesigns1808
      @lindadianedesigns1808  Месяц назад

      Believe me when I say I understand your frustration. I can never afford to buy all the ones I like, I have to pick the one or two that I think will serve me best. With that said, there are alternatives. Less expensive transfers from Amazon or Dollar Tree, and decoupaging napkins instead of transfers. Also, you can print out free printables from the Graphics Fairy, she’s a great resource. You can print onto tissue paper and decoupage that onto your project. I actually need to do more of that myself. Thank you for expressing your feelings, this is something that I think we should all pay attention to.
