How Does Your Body Burn Fat (The Process of Weight Loss)

  • Excess energy, primarily calories from fats or carbohydrates, is stored in fat cells as triglycerides. This is how your body conserves energy for future use. Over time, this excess energy leads to a fat surplus, which can have an impact on your body shape and health. To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you burn. This is known as a calorie deficit. A daily calorie deficit of 500 calories is a good place to start to see discernible fat loss, though it varies from person to person. Fats are released from fat cells and transported to your body's mitochondria, which are the cells' Energy-producing organelles, by maintaining a steady calorie deficit. Here, the fat is broken down into energy through a series of processes. If the caloric deficit per-sists, your body's fat stores will continue to be used as energy, resulting in a loss of body fat. #shorts #fatloss #weightloss #health

But a calorie deficit does not necessarily lead to the metabolism of fat. Depending on body type and genetics, different people use up fat stores differently, which is why some people have trouble losing fat. Losing weight is not the same as losing fat. Many people lose weight by losing muscle while conserving fat even with a calorie deficit. Their bodiea prefer to consume muscle for energy if there's a calorie deficit because when there's a calorie deficit the body thinks it's starving, and to conserve energy in a starved condition, it reduces the biggest user of energy: muscle, not fat.
To lose fat, you have to do exercises that force the body to use fat for energy.

Eat your protein, veggies, fruits and nuts. Figure out how much water you need to drink daily, walk for 30 minutes a day(or just move), get into tea, soups and honey. Focus on the lifestyle vs calorie counting, how your clothes fit and educate yourself on different meal recipes( it doesn’t have to be boring meals), how cooking different herbs enhance the benefits of the meal. I found losing weight is fun when you change your mindset, also do some inner work to see how your relationship with food got the way it is (healthy or unhealthy) loving yourself is the main catalyst for change. This was my less stressful way to lose weight.

Meanwhile low-fat was so easy to stick to, giving me so much energy and was so filling that I accidentally cut my fats way too low and my hormones crashed because it was just so easy to not eat anything.
Now i make sure to get my .8g/lb protein, .3g/lb fats, and i can fill the rest of my daily caloric needs with carbs to stay satisfied and energetic.
Everyone is different, for some people low carb has the same effects on them as low fat did for myself, and visa versa. I think its just important to find what works for each individual person (after you take care of meeting nutrition doses) to be successful.

Technically if you get in all of the nutrients you need to function via pill or injection, then you don't actually need to eat if you have excess bodyfat to pull energy from. However this method doesn't deconstruct bad habits (emotional eating/boredom eating) nor does it instill good habits (eating low calorie nutrient dense foods) so even if you give an overweight person the "nutrient and no food" solution, they'll just revert to their old eating habits and get fat again after that eating pattern ceases. Bodysize is a summation of chronic habit. If you don't change the habits permanently then any changes you'd see would be transient.

You need to get your insulin under control and eat whole foods.
Stick to the peripheral of stores when food shopping this is where they put all whole foods, produce and meats. Stay away from middle isles this is where "products" (not real food) are sold highly processed, laden with sugar and brand names built like a maze to pull into the centre of the stores and then finally they put it at the tills for that last attempt of impulse buy like "ooo I'll just crab that as a little treat".
Don't eat what your great grandma wouldn't recognise as food.
Don't shop on an empty stomach. (This causes more impulse buys.

Conversion of fats into energy is a long process where there are mainly 3 steps, activation of fatty acid, transport of fatty acid to the mitochondria and beta oxidation of fatty acid
    1) activation -Fatty acid is converted to fatty acyl CoA by thiokinase or fattyacyl CoA synthetase.
    2) transport -The inner mitochondrial membrane doesn’t permit fatty acids to pass through it.The activated FA enter mitochondria through carnitine shutter.
    This occurs in 4 steps:
Fatty acyl coA is transferred to carnitine to form fatty acyl carnitine. This is catalyzed by enzyme carnitine acyl transferase I (CAT-I) present on outer surface of mitochondria.
Then acyl carnitine enters into matrix through carnitine shutter.
Fatty acyl carnitine is converted into fatty acyl CoA by an enzyme carnitine acyl transferase II (CAT-II) formed in inner mitochondrial membrane.
The carnitine is released and return to cytosol for re-use.
    3)Beta oxidation of fatty acid-
    Which occurs in 4 steps
    Step 1- dehydrogination
Fatty acyl coA reacts with acyl coA dehydrogenase to form trans2enoyl coA
    Step-2- Hydration
    Water is added to saturate
the double bond and form 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA,
    catalyzed by Δ 2-enoyl-CoA
    hydratase.
    Step-3-
    Oxidation
    The 3-hydroxy derivative
    undergoes further
    dehydrogenation on the
    3-carbon catalyzed by
    L(+)-3-hydroxyacylCoA dehydrogenase to
    form the corresponding
    3-ketoacyl-CoA
    compound. In this case,
    NAD+ is the coenzyme
    involved.
    Step-4- Thiolysis
    3-ketoacyl-CoA is
    split at the 2,3-
    position
    by thiolase (3-
    ketoacyl-CoAthiolase), forming
    acetyl-CoA and a
    new acyl-CoA two
    carbons shorter
    than the original
    acyl-CoA
    molecule.
    BETA OXIDATION- ENERGY
    YIELD
    2.5 ATPs per NADH = 17.5
    1.5 ATPs per FADH2 = 10.5
    10 ATPs per acetyl-CoA = 80
    Total = 108 ATPs
    2 ATP equivalents (ATP
    PPi
    AMP + PPi
    2 Pi)
consumed during activation of palmitate to
    Palmitoyl CoA
    Net Energy output- 108-2 = 106 ATP.

Some possible ways to manage weight. Eat small portions, if left hungry wait at least 2-3 hours for next meal. GI tract plus adnexes is slow. Monitor urine color, darker and foam can tell muscle loss or too large amino acid intake denitrifation outcomes. Wear little too much, if sweaty at once starting activities, you eat to gain weight. If hot at idle activity, gaining weight. Surplus muscle with no demand, what could be the reasonable reason?

Not strictly true. Not just calories. You must consider the effect of hormones stimulated by certain foods. High glycemic carbohydrates cause increased insulin in the blood which in turn causes fat conservation and storage. The key to fat loss is in cutting out as many carbohydrates as possible. Starches as well as sugars. Cutting out toxic seed oils also will stop damage to mitochondria which will in turn stop the degeneration of metabolic function that causes insulin sensitivity decreasing to save cells from sugar toxicity. If you want to do this easily, go carnivore for a month. It's simple and less expensive and anyone can do it for 30 days. You might expect loose stool as you adapt, but without discomfort in my experience. It's just how your body sheds fat it can't deal with. It's too complicated to deal with calorie deficit plans especially if you're like most of us, addicted so that we crave sweets. In the end hunger always wins out. It's like trying to hold your breath. The only thing that can reliably keep you on the program is eating fat in your meat. The fat is the only thing that will keep you satiated without stimulating insulin and fat storage.

Good but you can’t go on only meat for the rest of your life tbh. For a specific time period that might be a solution but if you consider eating healthy, stay in shape and be healthy for the entire your life isn’t just using diet programs. Real change comes with mentality. But carnivore diet is good to not gonna lie in the end.

However, there exists another form of fat known as visceral fat. Unlike subcutaneous fat, this type of fat is situated beneath the muscle instead of being located above it. This is the reason why your abdomen feels firm rather than soft. It is lost through the same process of creating a caloric deficit, but it poses a greater risk to your overall health. It is crucial to prioritize the elimination of this type of fat promptly, as it can have detrimental effects on your well-being.

    1. I am talking about my journey, losing weight felt impossible! I often take care of my
body but it was not giving me any results. Finally, I realized that my diet was the
villain. I barely have any protein or fiber in my food and I was eating sugary snacks
loaded with palm oil that left me wanting more but affected my body. But finally, I got
to know about my weight loss hero which is Alpino Chocolate Oats and peanut
butter! This combo is a total dream, the high protein keeps me feeling full and fueled,
helping me build muscle. Plus, the fiber keeps my digestion happy. But the best part
is it's ridiculously delicious! Forget bland oatmeal and protein shakes that taste like
hell. Alpino Oats and peanut butter satisfy my cravings without any added sugar. It's

      Calories and Nutrition
      are two different things
      like Food and Water
      are two different things.
      Technically...
      you could eat cookies, candy,
ice cream and pure table sugar
      and not gain one single
      pound of body fat...
      SO... LONG... AS...
      you remained UNDER
      your calorie-balance
      and stayed within
      a caloric deficit.
      However...
      you should not eat "only"
      ice cream and cookies
      as that is certainly not
      a balanced-nutrient diet...
      which is now where
      the difference between
      "calories" and "nutrition"
      comes into play.
      Also...
      when I said that a
      "calorie is a calorie"...
all the word "calorie" means is the
unit(s) or the amount(s) of energy
      contained within those said-nutrients.
      Carbohydrates and Proteins
each contain 4 calories per gram.
      Fats contain
      9 calories
      per gram...
      which is 2.25 times
      (that is, more than
      double the amount)
      of calories of
      Carbs & Protein,
      both of which contain
      4 calories per gram...
      Thus....
      Fats, in and of themselves,
      are more caloric dense.
      So...
      a 2oz sugar cookie
      (which is practically
      all sugar and carbs)...
      will have less
      calories than a
      2oz serving of Bacon
      which is almost entirely Fat.
But muscles prefer carbs & sugars
      as their preferred and immediate
fuel source and which your muscles
      will ALWAYS use first in
      the form of Glycogen.
      If you go on
      an all-protein
      and no-carb diet...
your body will break down some of
those proteins in the liver in order
to convert and use them as sugars...
      In other words...
      completely removing Carbs
from your diet will do you no good
as your liver will simply convert
some of those proteins to sugars
      for fuel anyway...
      which is why
      Carbs and Fats
      are protein-sparring
      and thus are
      muscle-sparring...
      because the Carbs and Fats
      will prevent your body
      from pulling amino acids
      from your muscles
for fuel in the first place.
      As for protein...
      your body will ONLY
      take in, absorb and use
      the protein that it needs.
      Any protein calorie that is
      eaten or consumed beyond need
will either be passed out of the body
or will be stored as body fat...
as will be the case with
      any nutrient beyond "need"...
and is why you will always
      pass neon-yellow-colored urine
      if you make them mistake
      of taking daily vitamins
      beyond need.
      In other words....
      all you are doing
      is producing very
      expensive urine.

Yea not sure how true this is considering in my understanding Calories is the energy your body needs to function, and when it runs out it burns your fat to make up for the lack of calories (however doing this too long will cause damage to itself at some point).
That being said starving yourself sounds like a good idea, but then factor in the fact of hunger. When you don't eat enough, or you wait far too long... you put your body in a almost infinite loop of survival mode where It will just burn as much fat as it needs to survive and anything you consume it'll store most of it as energy for future use. Basically, it'll do what it can to conserve energy.
Plus something to mention: Most of the shit people eat are what contribute to making people fat. If people ate much differently, well as an example: There are minerals that are essential for the human body. Minerals that can be found in rocks. Problem here is? Those said minerals from that source are toxic. But if you take another source, like an animal or a plant, evidentially the same mineral that exists in/on a rock that's toxic your body is actually able to process it from other sources.
Sugar has been shown to be bad, but most studies neglect the kind of sugars that exist, especially where it's source is from.
Take pizza for instance... honestly terrible to consume, not as bad if it's homemade... which evidentially when people eat food that's homemade people tend to be better fit, healthier, and in a more developed state of mind. But back to the pizza...
Wanna burn fat? Here's what I learned: Essential minerals exist in many forms. Some of which are toxic and unable to be processed. You eat food that's high in calories and within the next few days you burn it all. Afterwards you eat food that has very little calories. Your body will burn it quickly, but because it's not starving it'll burn the fat to make up for lack of calories. After a day or so of burning fat (of course while you're still working out) you eat a high calorie meal... such as a Pizza or something. Then you go and burn those calories and the cycle repeats.
It's a cheat code to put your metabolism into overdrive.

  • @AshenOne_CR

Your body is a smart machine. Something needs to prompt this fat burning process. Remember that fat burning is also a fuel, and if you use carbohydrates as fuel, you will not prompt your body to burn fat. Why? Carbohydrates prompt insulin, the fat storing hormone, and it does it the most. On top of that, your body uses carbohydrates first before fat on the body. When you eat carbohydrates, you are quite literally both adding fat to your body AND preventing it from using the fat on your body.
To lose body fat, you must get the body fat wheels turning and become fat adapted. There's only two ways to do this: eliminate or severely reduce carbohydrates, and eating less frequently. Calorie deficits aren't enough; your body notices you are depriving yourself of calories, so insulin stubbornly holds onto your fat.
You also need to get a majority of the calories you do get from saturated fat. This far is stable, long straight carbon bonds that are resistant to oxidation. This fat also helps your body know how to use fat as an energy source
    Recap:
Eat less often so you don't prompt your insulin
Eat more saturated fat so your body can get used to metabolizing fat as an energy source
Eliminate or severely reduce carbohydrates (20 net carbs maximum)
    More importantly, go and walk

you are not even doing keto. but just a "calorie deficit" diet means you can eat all... so why limit 20g carb? that is too much. maybe around 70-120g carb per day to make you function for the day

Workout, Do Intermediate fasting, And just as Drwealz says. Stay below your Caloric deficit. I personally would stick to meats. Chicken, Fish, and sometime beef, or if vegan go about the means you know to get that protein. stay away from carbs and processes foods. No nice, no pasta, No bread. Every oh so often for energy for certain task, have those things. Don't have cheat days, have cheat meal. Also don't think of it as a cheat meal, the food is something you love and will want at some point, but try to find a healthier way to eat the food. I.e Instead of Ice cream, eat low fat frozen yogurt. it taste amazing imo.
Finally and most importantly NEVER FORGET WHY YOU STARTED, THAT PAIN YOU ENDURED, USED IT AND HARNEST IT. LET IT MOLD YOUR MIND INTO A TUNNEL VISION THAT ONLY KNOWS SUCCESS. that pain is what will never make you forget your goal. BECOME BATMAN!! GOOD LUCK GODBLESS!!

This neglects to say which foods trigger triglyceride disassembly and release of fatty acids for use as energy (burning fat), and which promote retention of fatty acids and their further storage.

@@mermaidmomma3696 A high fat, low carb diet works for me. I avoid processed foods, white flour-based products, soda, alcohol (I just lost my taste for it), etc., foods that are high on the glycemic index and that instantly raise blood sugar levels, which triggers insulin, etc. I eat as much as I like and don’t gain weight. I get most of my energy from meat, and some (a lot less) from plants (there is a plant based version, too - using legumes). I lost a lot of weight eating like that, coupled with drinking water and working out. I do not count calories but in general I probably don’t consume a lot just because I feel satisfied/not hungry by eating this way. Prior to that (I credit Gary Taubes’ book Why We Get Fat… for teaching me; his RUclips videos (talks) have also been good), I bounced around, up and down. I have also cut back on fruit. I used to drink a tall glass of fresh squeezed orange juice every morning, sometimes two. When I realized the effect this was having on my glucose level, and the process it was triggering, I stopped. Now I just eat sections a few times a week - or a small fruit salad. It’s enough for me.

A deficit of 500 calories is too much it is the best way too lose a lot of weight and take it back after the end of the diet. 200 or 300 is enough

A calorie deficit of 500 calories/day will get you a weight loss of 1 pound per week. 1 pound = 3500 calories. And obviously, if you stop eating relatively healthy, you are going to gain weight back. That’s just common sense. People need to change their lifestyles to maintain the weight loss.

Be mindful that the body first attacks their muscle cells for energy when in caloric deficit, then the fat. Most people just end up becoming skinny fat 😂 with arms and legs thin while the belly fat still persists. I would suggest including exercising and healthier choice of food (no sugar and flour) for better fat loss.

In a calorie deficit, the body primarily relies on stored fat cells as an energy source. The body's goal is to preserve muscle mass as much as possible, so it typically breaks down fat stores before turning to muscle tissue
