This seems to have solved my issue for now and I don’t wanna jinx it but yeah, I was freezing on boot up and it kept giving the same system error message. First thing I did was stop using my extended storage because I felt like that was half the reason it kept shutting off, because it was restarting to repair that. I suppose I feel a bit better knowing this is a very common issue and it’s probably mostly because it’s still a new console I legit got my PS5 today and was playing AC Odyssey happily for hours until it froze then hard crashed
From memory I uploaded my game files and just kept redownloading them because I did fully reset my ps5 in the end before I actually sent it off for repairs and got a new one back 🤣

For me it’s freezing on the save screen of old ps4 games where when you play it on ps5, it uses the PS5 inbuilt system save screen (like a black pop up thing) rather than the games own save screen like when you play on ps4

Call of the Mountain was crashing several times in the middle of the game with the PSVR2 headset on. I'll try your tips and hopefully will resolve the crashing issue. Another possibility is to clear the dust on the filter within the PS5 console that might be interfering with the cooling.
Saints Row have been crashing with the something went wrong with game or app, so I deleted the game and deleted the save files and now it plays better.

It was also doing this while trying to play Dirt 5. I've had nothing but hardware issues with this console.. It's actually upsetting the amount of problems I've seen from the PS5. Rest mode has given me nothing but issues.. I've had to completely turn it off.
The proper thing to do is to turn it off after use and when you don't plan to use it after a while. Leaving it on rest mode everytime isn't a very good option. Only leave it on restmode if you have to do something really quick or if you want to download games faster.

That something else going on. Try to reinstall the game. If that doesn’t work a full factory reset. If that doesn’t work then send it back to Sony under warranty.

I have done everything this video mention. I know that the only games affected are ps5 games. When I tried playing chivalry it crashed. The same happened with demon souls. But atleast I know the error code which is CE 108255-1

I get gta online crashing but seems to only happen every few days or so. I tried this, so will see what happens. Sony seem to be aware of it and so far no ETA on a patch for this.
When I play cod cold war it crashes mid game, it freezes and then I get error and then I comes to the menu again! How do I fix this issue, it happened only once but now I'm nervous to play it because I see lots of people having a similar issue but instead of just getting an error code the hole system crashes, and in some cases the consoles get bricked.

Just tried your method it helped thank you. For the longest time I had trouble with friends list and messages not loading. PlayStation store wouldn’t load. Spotify wouldn’t load or said I had to link acc with an error code. I was about ready to switch to Xbox with all the trouble

This happens to be on Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart and Operation Tango. On R&C it will freeze before the title screen and on OT it does it when launching the first mission. My PS5 does this with no other game. Suggestions? I've tried everything here

I’ve been trying to play Batman Arkham Knight through back compat and it’s been crashing like every 15 or 20 minutes. I haven’t had any other games have that problem and it makes me wonder if it’s the game or something to do with the hardware.
Just tried this on my ps5, only got the console last week and iv been playing black desert online but it has been crashing non stop every time I try to kill a boss or do anything important. I’m using Ethernet cable with 1gb speeds so it shouldn’t be happening. This does seem to have smoothed things out so far but time will tell hopefully this will be what’s needed.
Tried these tips, FC 24 is still crashing/glitching. I think it’s a dust problem just can’t open the plates, once I do manage to open them or get someone that knows how & they might know the right cleaning stuff to use in cleaning off the dust. That’s my opinion I think is the problem
I used your solution and it did work like i told you in the pinned comment for a while but the problem started to come back again, i found a simple solution and it was a stupid one 😂😂, which is when you go into the game and it didn't load like ghost of tsushima for me i turned off the controller and the game strarted to work, i don't know why but it did work

It probably corrupted save file. Unfortunately you have to delete all your saves for that game. Let me know if it works.

That’s what my reply was going to be. Sudden shut offs are caused by over heating. Send it back to Sony under warranty for a replacement

So I definitely wanna try this but figured id give you my problem before: In the middle of my stream, my PS5 shut off. Its happened before. When I opened it again, it made some of my gme files corrupted and it advised me to delete and redownload the game apps. I did and still nothing. Would you suggest trying this method?

I’ve been trying to play Batman Arkham Knight through back compat and it’s been crashing like every 15 or 20 minutes. I haven’t had any other games have that problem and it makes me wonder if it’s the game or something to do with the hardware.

Just tried this on my ps5, only got the console last week and iv been playing black desert online but it has been crashing non stop every time I try to kill a boss or do anything important. I’m using Ethernet cable with 1gb speeds so it shouldn’t be happening.
This does seem to have smoothed things out so far but time will tell hopefully this will be what’s needed.

Tried these tips, FC 24 is still crashing/glitching. I think it’s a dust problem just can’t open the plates, once I do manage to open them or get someone that knows how & they might know the right cleaning stuff to use in cleaning off the dust. That’s my opinion I think is the problem
AC Valhalla keeps crashing for me while playing the Wrath of the druids DLC. I hope this fixes the problem.

I used your solution and it did work like i told you in the pinned comment for a while but the problem started to come back again, i found a simple solution and it was a stupid one 😂😂, which is when you go into the game and it didn't load like ghost of tsushima for me i turned off the controller and the game strarted to work, i don't know why but it did work
