Thank you for sharing this. Virtual presentations inform us and help keep us engaged.
What a wonderful and generous presentation! Thankyou so much.
Goya's Prints are amazing, I remember seeing the full series of the "Desastres de la Guerra" and I was shocked, an unforgettable experience. I think the phrases below the prints are important, they complete the meaning of the image and convey the full darkness, feel and irony of what it is being presented. Thank you for sharing!
Nice presentation by the presenter of Goya's prints. An amazing array of his prints dealing in so many subjects and in various periods.
Truly enjoyed every moment of it. Francisco Goya another great artist who made Spain proud.
Thanks.
Huge thank you for creating this video! I loved watching this before going to see the exhibit and I hope you might continue to create great overviews like this for special exhibitions if we ever return to more “normal” times.
I do wish that we saw more of the sketches than of the presenter...and have spent longer on each...it was very confusing and frustrating going from one to the other in such quick fashion...But Goya...a master at capturing the ills and dangers of the society he lived in.
I think we should be thankful to the MET for offering opportunities like those during this difficult time of our era. It's supposed to be a glimpse of what the MET offers and not a physical visit to the Gallery.
Thank you for this wonderful tour!
that self portrait of him really looks amazing i mean look at his eyes...
I saw the show during a member preview and can’t wait to go back to see it again!
Thank you for this! I love the darkness that Goya sees in humanity
Mr McDonald, your artistic, descriptive comments added more to that excellent concise narrative.
Thank you. What a compelling sequence of views and a beautifully written script! Really enjoyed this window onto an exceptional exhibition!
Wonderful! I've owned a book with all his prints forever and I didn't know some of the drawings thanks
Ha sido un placer ver el vídeo y escuchar sus reflexiones sobre Goya . Saludos
Thanks share so amazing collection. imprensive.Gracias por tanto, Saludos From Bolivia
Lovely content on a wonderful artist!
Goya, always a favorite, even from a young age, ''Saturn Devouring His Children'' got me started.
I think it's interesting that the Met has exhibits by 2 lefty political activists running at the same time now in our own fraught political climate. Goya and Alice Neel, two very outspoken, fearless, political commentators who take no prisoners.
Saturn Devouring His Children indeed. It's the relationship of many governments with their constituents.
I'm so looking forward to seeing them today.
Thank you so much for sharing! There is no way I could afford to travel to The Met (from Australia) even without Covid. These virtual tours provide the opportunity to have at least a taste of these stunning works!
I wish I could see this in person.
Very moving images and excellent presentation.
Very well curated exhibition. Thank you.
Honored to have etchings Lo peor es pedir #37 and Y son Fieras of The disasters of war series. Will be stopping by soon to see the presentation.
Fantastic video, so well done and well researched, Bravo.
Great video,keep it up!🖼🎨🇪🇦
i love this it made me cry
A great sample.
Wish i could go there, someone pay me the flight!!! Haha
Hi Mark'
Thanks really interesting I have found it amazing, Well done (Wodonga) Mark
I kept thinking of his contemporary Beethoven and the opera Fidelio. Both go deaf in middle age, and the subject of Goya's work reflects Beethoven's drama and pain in his music. I suppose the experts have already examined this connection.
Those mauve mats are ghastly.
Ah, Goya, Patron Saint of Metal Album covers
❤️
Very interesting. Also, a bit surprising the MET did not bother to flatten many of the prints prior to framing.
Why we can' t go to MET GALA?
The exposition will be on until when ??
bellisimo
3:42 intro
4:18 tour
whats going on with the sound? or is it just the voice of the second speaker?
🙇🏽♀️
Fueron las pinturas hayadas en las paredes de su casa suyas o de su hijo.?
Yes we are in a midst of a pandemic where millions are dropping like flies. Pandemic = Fourth Industrial Revolution
Cant hear Mark because of the music noise in the background. Why do you feel you have to have music?
Please explain the self imposed exile to France.
nice
The quick cutting (editing) is beyond frustrating. Hang on the images for a bit! No one who cares will get bored.
you can pause the video when necessary.
Or go visit the show
His style became a political cartoon
I wish I had money to own things like this. Instead I work 50 hour weeks so I can pay for a house my bank owns.
Need to spend more time on the images....much too fast and choppy
