I don't know about that.... I'd bet that some if not many of the artists represented would not fancy being recontextualized to serve this weird "internationalist" and politically correct narrative. This pathetic fad has to end.
I love how there is room in this exhibit for a permanence of the impermanent and ever shifting circumstances of our global political and social lives - freedom of expression, gender, forms that evolve.
Wonderful exhibit story. Really a much-needed refresher course on Surrealism. In Art School, it was skipped through lightly without stopping long enough to understand what was being expressed. It all feels new again and very contemporary. There are stories to tell.
What an amazing presentation. Thank you so much. The amount of work, people and artwork collation that goes into an exhibit of this kind is mind boggling. I just wish the show was on longer so I could get there... thank you.
Since many of the artists names were not captioned in the video, perhaps a list of names could be supplanted in the description which would encourage viewers to explore them further, be it referencing them to Met pages? Thanks.
Incredible collection and presentation. Kudos to all involved, informing and educating with simple-credible dialog that prompts ideals and values. This was a gift, thank you.
Thank you beautifully presented and inspiring. Excited to explore the possibilities in surrealism and start my masterpiece. Greatly appreciated this MET tour thank you!

I wish more museums did this for those who can’t come to a art exhibit. This was interesting and made me fell in love with the art work!
Nothing is more precious than:
1. Independence
2. Freedom
3. Joy
If people right understand the meaning of Freedom
I wish that we had more art classes/lectures like this. The curator added more value than any of the individual pieces of work. Thank you.

My mother in law is Cossette Zeno. One of the artists discussed. The exhibit opening was last Monday in NY
Gratitude for the opportunity!
wow !!!! a real great curation! unbeliveable reasearch.... bravo!
Wonderful exhibit story. Really a much-needed refresher course on Surrealism. In Art School, it was skipped through lightly without stopping long enough to understand what was being expressed. It all feels new again and very contemporary. There are stories to tell.
I am very happy that Sea by Harue Koga, 1929, the most monumental work of Surrealism in Japan, is introduced in this exhibition! from Japan
What an amazing presentation. Thank you so much. The amount of work, people and artwork collation that goes into an exhibit of this kind is mind boggling. I just wish the show was on longer so I could get there... thank you.

My bad. Wrote it before the final minutes.
Suzanne Cesaire: "surrealism... is the tightrope of our hope." YES.
Excellently curated and narrated exhibition.
Thank you
One of the most underrated shows.
I do remember every detail. A great exhibition.
Love this virtual tour! Can’t wait for more!
Incredible collection and presentation. Kudos to all involved, informing and educating with simple-credible dialog that prompts ideals and values. This was a gift, thank you.
This is a superb introduction to the exhibit, and the subject in general. I truly am excited to see this exhibit in person.
I really love Harue Koga’s art!
アメリカまで見に行きたいなぁ!
Thank you!♥️✌️
Great presentation - fascinating show! I'm wondering why no Gertrude Abercrombie??
She must be there…
Thank you The Met; Surrealism is my favorite art, second to Da Daism Love this exhibition
1:04 Can anyone help with the name of the painting, thanks
Embroidering the Earth's mantle - Remedios Varo
@@tb-dq7sb You’re fantastic!
So informative. I did not know about all the Surrealists in many countries.
Amazing thank you for sharing.
Interesting visual tour of the Met w/o leaving my room/city/country.
I love art so much, created channel to display them on my tv.
Thank you beautifully presented and inspiring. Excited to explore the possibilities in surrealism and start my masterpiece. Greatly appreciated this MET tour thank you!
Just when I think a body of art cannot connect to me, what stunning presentation and important and necessary exhibit
What's the "humerous" video at the start called?
'The Flat' by Jan Svankmajer
Thank you!
Is Surrealism beyond Borders on display at the Met? Will be in NYC. Also, if there are any books or videos for sale, let us know.
Absolutely brilliant presentation! Out of the park.
You should release an album with these works and sell them with worldwise shipping
Does someone know what the painting in 3:21 is called?
Great work, a pleasure to watch! Cant wait to see more like this!
I caught the Surrealism exhibit at the Guggenheim, when I was in NYC, 1999.
This was lovely! Thank you!
Simply put ... Amazing 🤘
Excellent presentation!
Fantastique et intéressant présentation...merci beaucoup. Respecté 🕊️
Very well presented. Loved the whole video and got to learn so much. Thank you for this
Thanks so much for this, amazing
Thank you for sharing this with 'us'.
Very impressive show ,international way of finding freedom through art,the thrush in art
awesome curatorial work! I hope this exhibition travels the world and hopefully comes to New Zealand
Excellent - wish I could visit the exhibit. Hope it will travel!
Smart including Jan Svankmajer.
Awesome no words! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the video, interesting meeting. I work in different areas of painting, but I have not yet touched surrealism.
Exquisitely done. This was fascinating in every conceivable way. 🙂
It would have been nice to give more time to view the psc.
Can't wait to see this in February ✨ #tate
Thank you!
11:12 that’s an image of Gloria Swanson from the silent comedy “Teddy At The Throttle” (1917)
would love to be there! will the closing date be the same, considering omicron?
Nice, but the camera moves from piece to piece too quickly for me to absorb anything.
Cant wait for this to come to London. Lots of work I haven't seen before.
I know where I'm going. This was excellent.
Enlightening!
super! thanks
Wonderful 🤩
Awesomeness, thank you
Walking around the lake. Romanticisim lives by the water.
26:50 I wish we have a lot of Surrealist artist. Filipinos doesn't dig surreal art nowadays.
Budots is Surrealist.....

05:19 shows Hernando R. Ocampo.
I wish I was invited to exhibit in this show.
Great video.
Brilliant
Spot on.
Looking forward to seeing this at the Tate in a couple of weeks time!
Beautiful
Ah noooo, it's at 12am were I am. Will this be available tomorrow to rewatch?
Yes! It will be.
Absolutely
amazing!!!!
The "pin-up" girl is wearing a French revolutionary cap and has a passing resemblance to the Statue of Liberty (also a product of France). Ah the 'twenties, when the dearth of men after the war in Europe meant that the door of liberty cracked open a little for women in some parts of the world. ps Where's Waldy?
Welcome to Golgumbaz 2021
You don't even show the art, only quick flashes.
See in the subject the activity of The Center of Inter-religious Peace
From the mirror to the sun, like Alice we like to look behind and feel a new child inside us.
Thumbs up !
super art

Moving.
Project the film Eraserhead onto the side of your building for the duration. Stuffy suits don't draw crowds.
Funny how interpretation changes over time. This presentation seems largely concerned with identity politics, while leaving out the surrealists' critique of capitalism entirely. At the end of the day, this approach tells us more about the postmodern world of today than it does about historical surrealism.

I don't see the point in the sort of film about Art that doesn't identify the Artist or the work's title. It races along, commodifying the images leaving us bewildered and, frankly, none the wiser.
예술이 존재하는 이유는 뭐냐 생명위에 존재할 수 있다고 보는가 아니잖아

isn't it quite the coincidence that curators always and I mean ALWAYS try to add a globalist or international thread to an exhibit? Why would that be... I wonder
Surrealism was an international movement from its inception

Can’t have Surrealism without political nonsense
