I’m Commander Sheppard, and this is my favorite ship from Star Trek Discovery
It's a great class :)
Another good looking discovery ship.
Very simple yet elegant.
I think so too! :)
For all the jokes about it just being a Walker class turned upside down, I think she is a beauty. And now the Gagarin refit is canon so I guess that will be coming up soon TAS. ;)
It reminds me a bit of the history of the PT boats of WW-2. LOTS of them were lost but the number of lives they saved and the damages they inflicted were ridiculous. Except, those were plywood boats painted to look like metal giving them a reputation of among the Axis powers general troops that were almost akin ot ghost stories. The Shepard Class, lots of firepower, lots of speed, not exactly the toughest ship out there, but didn't need to be.
Thanks, man! I hope you have a wonderful one!
Thanks Jaspr, and the same to you and yours :)
I have not always been a big fan of the discovery aesthetic but I am warmer to the shepherd class
So that’s where “living in a hallway” style of crew accommodations came from.
You get it ;)
It's funny because now when I see TOS ships from the original series I see how much more modern they look compared to todays designs. Where you see so much textures and angles and other things you see a much more smooth and refined style in the TOS ships.
I hope that you eventually do a video on the Gagarin class since it's the shepherd's class spiritual successor
No worries, it's coming ;)
Very nice. Now that's a solid design right there. Good stuff.
Thanks 👍
This is one cool design. In fact, one of the best new designs introduced in Discovery. I love, love, love, the update of the design done by STO. Another great episode!
Then you MUST be as happy as I am that the Gagarin Class was made Canon today In Star Trek Picard ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I haven't watched the episode yet but I did see pics posted! Yay!
:O Well what are you waiting for?! Its amazingly epic!
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I finshed watching Discovery a little while ago. Picard is next!
The Shepard class was the first dedicated patrol and emergency response class of the federation?
Yay video :>
Let me guess?
The Sole surviving Shepherd Class from the lineup, and the only one not at yard 39 was the original USS Yamato NCC-1305?
LOL
Loved the Lore Blog info from Star Trek Online.
Glad you enjoyed it! I do my best ;)
Alright, watch time! I just got out of the hospital this morning, and I'm thankful there's a Beta Canon waiting for me! I usually view here on my PC, cause I've got a 55" TV for a monitor! Unfortuately, my roon at the facility was right above the MRI, X-rays, CTscans, etc. So a signal wasn't an option!
I hope you’re well, live long and prosper my fellow Trek nerd 🖖 💜
It's almost like you knew the modern refit of this class would be making a cameo...
Lol Almost, right? ;)
The NX class with that color scheme looks great
I love this ship I would love to command this ship or at least lead one the maco teams on one =)
Well you need to put in for a transfer then ;) Please see Starfleet's Human Resources Department for more information ;)
The Shepard Class, she tends to the Starfleet Flock.
LOL
Morning!!!🖖🏻
Good Morning! :)
I was hoping you'd mention the Gagarin class from STO when you mentioned the 25th century. The Gagarin is one of my absolute favorites next to the Buran class in the game.
That will be for a future video ;) Especially now that its canon ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics wait, the Gagarin is canon?
Yes, along with the Sutherland, Reliant and Ross Classes... Star Trek: Picard just made them so! ;)
Great video i always fan of the 23rd century Star Fleet more military style agency
Thank you so much :)
Thank you so much!i have been waiting for a video like this on this class :D
You're very welcome! :)
Awesome 😎
Thank you! Cheers!
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics Love all your Fasa stuff. I am a big Fan of the FASA years and Four Years War story lines. Great work brother. 🙂
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very well executed and informatively explained in every detail way shape and form provided on this format and subject matter indeed, And I myself love the sleek design of the Shepard class starship's and I own the Eaglemoss model of the U.S.S. KERALA NCC-1255 of this beautiful ship as well!,👌.
Good looking ship🖖
Indeed ;)
One of the best Discovery designs.
I really like the Shepard class it's a really cool looking Starship
Now this class, is worthy of song at the Space Dwarf Hunter pub while drinking Tellarite mead. If there is just one thing I would change on this wee ship is the Nacelles to the tubes. Otherwise, she's an fine lady class for all she's worth. Now, my friend, let me tell you about, the USS Asgard, and her brave crew of men and women. ~Chief Engineer Officer Eitri Tellarite crew member of the Asgard
Please keep these coming. Great visuals, fun narrative, and a silky voice. What more could we ask? 🖖
Thank you Greg! :) Will do! ;)
Nice 👌 enjoyed this one very much
Thank you! Glad to hear that :) Cheers!
So with the Shepard's direct descendant the Gagarin now present canonically in ST:Picard, maybe a follow-up is in order.
Absolutely... Though once I have access to a 3D model ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I was also kinda left wanting to see something about the Buran Class in the Cardenas video, though so far, that one only exists in STO, but it was supposedly also designed from the Yard 39 project.
thank you very much for this Awesome! Truth OR Myth BETA video
My pleasure Dominik! :)
Very cool ship! Great video!
Many thanks George!
this ship looks very good in my opinion and the design weapons and such sound solid.
I agree :)
A bit more fond of the Gagarin take on the design it still proved to be a snazzy looking ship. Your take on a possible background for the class feels rather fitting with what we know as well.
Thanks Kyle, I Try ;)
Imaginary Beta canon stories are better then Alpha canon stories.
You can do more with Beta canon stories.
To a point yes ;)
Please create a video review with all Discovery ships on Binary Star battle but with the Star Trek online designs.
What do you mean with Star Trek Online Designs?
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics th Star Trek online shows for example upgrades at same designs, for example, I have the USS Europa from Discovery by Eaglemoss and is the version Star Trek online, if you see is slight different from showed on show
Well that will happen when people make a video game. That's part of the reason why Video games are not canon. And Canon designs, always trump non canon ones ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics so made a Discovery battle Binary Stars ships
*I love the lines of the Shepard class,* it looks like a practical approach to the Starfleet design paradigm. The pylons are thick and strong _[a bugbear of mine is thin pylons that look like they would snap if say the ship was rendered as a die cast model…]_ and in a convenient location, such a layout could even possibly be landing capable. There's a quasi Klingon/Romulan look in the pylons almost being wings.
It's a shame the basic layout wasn't carried on and evolved, and Constitution and Excelsior (and Galaxy and so on) style language versions were constructed.
It could have become part of the model inventory of Starfleet - they have the Saucer, secondary Hull and nacelles on pylons capital ship/flagship base model to determine the look of a ship's generation.
Then there's the "Miranda" variant that's a saucer with secondary hull integrated into the saucer (or a box structure) that's a workhorse variant of the Heavy Cruiser base model.
And amongst all these variants there's always a Shepard style combat Interceptor that uses the parts bin of the other ships, so they can pump out combat optimised medium ships (classed as attack frigates or destroyers) that can stiffen a fleet, act as escorts (until Sisko designs you know what) and be general Patrol ships in order to keep order. A heavily armed ship that is highly maneuverable and is basically a bigger version of the Klingon Bird of Prey (the larger version that is a upscaled version of their standard design, but is otherwise identical … *Ahem).
One or two of these escorting the main multirole flagship class would make Starfleet a much tougher nut.
Perhaps they did this in the Kelvin timeline??
Second favourite of the Disco era. Yeah it may be a sorta kitbash reimagining of the Walker class but it feels more elegant.
I dont really see it as a kitbash at all though...
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics kitbash isn't really the best word i guess. But the saucer is mostly a flipped over walker class saucer and the nacelle pylons are similar to the walker class. Many eras of Trek obviously do this though i would say this one was done rather well.
I would bet money that depending on the year in the 25th Century that it would be Admiral Picard who would lead the team for the decommissioning ships preserved for hundreds of years that's an archaeologist dream
Will you make a video about the gagarin class, reliant class, sutherland class and ross class now that they’ve been canonised?
Absolutely, once I have access to those models of course ;)
Even starfleet honors commander shepherd!!! The great commander shepherd!!!! Destroyer of the reapers and savior of the universe and a specter!!!! Sheps fame goes across universes!!!! The famous commander of the SR-2 normandy!!!!!! 😊
Star Trek loves to honor history ;)
Nice video, I especially liked the origin story for the Shepard. I sure do hope the Admiral responsible for amassing a fleet of 151 ships at a single facility albeit for refit purposes was fired after the entire class (!) of starships was lost. Concentrating such a large number of vessels at one facility does not seem like a particularly sound strategic choice to me. ;-) Other than that, again, I enjoyed your story.
And yet, thats the Beta Canon story ;) The problem you have is actually with Star Trek Online ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics Oops. I did not wish to put "blame" (if you might call it that) where it is not due. Thus, I stand corrected. I hereby redirect my criticism to STO. ;-)
All good :)
To be honest, I find it a bit of a stretch that 400 Shepard class vessels would be constructed by the 2250s.
Yes thats 40 years, and a rate of 10 vessels per year would not be a problem even for this early starfleet. But that would mean that with all the other classes, Starfleet would probably have 2000 or even 2500 ships or so by the mid 2250s, and that seems a bit much. It doesnt fit with the registry numbers of the first Enterprise, and it doesnt fit with the fact that only 12 Constitution class ships were constructed. I think the total number of ships Starfleet had constructed during its existence should not be larger than 1700 ships by the 2250s.
And lets say that 400 of those ships were from the early years of the Federation, so from its founding until 2200, that would leave us with 1300 ships to be constructed between 2200 and 2250. I think thats a good progression. But I doubt there would be 400 Shepard Class ships among them. We have to remember that there are a lot of ship classes in service, and most of them would be of the "workhouse type" (Malachowski, and maybe the older Olympic class). There would also be a lot of construction ships, cargo ships and so on. In my opinion it doesnt fit to have 1/3rd of the fleet be a single warship class for this early Federation.
I think 200 Shepard class warships should be the maximum.
You may not want to believe it, but that's the way it is. And given the countless construction yards Starfleet has, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility! :)

Have you seen the first episode of Picard season 2?
Of course I have ;) Im writing about that right now actually ;)
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics What do you think of the starships that were shown in the second half of the episode?
Ah I can see Section 31 taking this class as its own. 150 ships left? Sounds like a Section 31coverup to me....did I say thay out loud Oh Hi Control did I say anything oh no i didn't say a thing. I don't know anything to talk aboutt anything...
.
I was initially dismissive of the DIS designs, but Shepard Class is an exception. I love how it is basically a military evolution of the NX-class, and was made with defense and patrol in mind, something that Starfleet of 24th Century really could use. In fact, this ship actually made me reevaluate Discovery ships, and give them a new chance
Where can I get more info on this ship
Try Google!
Starfleet's first escort starship.
It isn't the first though...
Given how we've had the "canadarm" robotic hand thing on the retired space shuttle..30 yrs ago I might add..it doesn't seem reasonable to me that a civilization hundreds of years more advanced than we are couldnt retrieve ships and tech from yard 39 remotely somehow 🤷
Theres my only complaint lol. Still watched this twice though AND liked it 🤙
Yet, this type of thing happens in Trek all the time! Just because a civilization is advanced, doesnt mean in omniscient! :P
maybe now video of gagarin class frome star trek online?
Unfortunately, I dont have access to a 3D model of that class yet!

Nice video, is there any room to have beta canon videos on the 24th century starships?
As you should already know, Ive done MANY Beta Canon videos on 24th Century starship! So why are you asking this?
@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics sorry, forgot.
Well stop trying to create issues and drama... Since your nonsense on the other video, Ive begun to moderate your comments to ensure you follow Channel Rules...
