Good and bad. I mainly hoped the Rapid Bike would improve the on/off throttle, as others gave positive views (the few I could find). It doesn’t. The complete fuelling cut by the bike’s ECU whilst the throttle is closed is the problem. It ruins trying to get back on the throttle smoothly around every bend. This RB Evo on it’s own does not cure this at all. I am reluctant to buy the Youtune add-on just to test if Engine Braking facility works. Fuel efficiency is about the same. I am now considering an ECU remap, which I was trying to avoid, mainly to have the fuel cut modified. The exhaust is cheap to buy, so I can not complain much. Cheap to replace, as the silencer is vulnerable to damage if dropped. The front pipes touched my Touratech skid-plate, so I had to fit 5mm spacers to the plate (they cleared the standard plate). I could feel the full system actually lost torque over the standard exhaust, until I fitted the RB. The RB seems to have at least brought it back to standard, if not slightly more power by now (I bought the Akrapovic map version of the RB). It is a very nice sounding silencer with the baffle in, my favourite bit. Any louder would be rude. Overall it saves about 4kgs over the full original exhaust. With hindsight, I would save money by sticking with the standard front pipe (mine is Euro 4), fit only this BlackWidow silencer (300mm Hexagonal) along with a Smart Moto O2 eliminator that I used previously (also improves my 701 and did on the 1290 SA). The eliminator had just a bit more of an improvement over the on/off throttle than the RB. For now I am putting up with the toggle throttle because everything else about this engine and the bike is great fun on and off-road 😀
What's your thoughts on the bike after the rapid bike module and pipe?
