- I started this as just a quick side project and like everything I ever do it quickly evolved into more than originally anticipated. I had a lot of fun learning new things in after effects, and animating bite sized movements of people wearing armor. It's not as bad as expected actually!!! Wash's story has always resonated with me, and I hope we all get our own Blue team someday.

I got into Red vs Blue this year and it's definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. And it makes me happy that one of my favorite Warrior Cats animators makes Red vs Blue content too!

00:01 - Already, I love the nostaligic opening with the VCS look. Reminds me of the times I'd watch obscure animted movies that my parents had recorded. A lot of those tapes became destroyed after a while, and I believed for a long time I had dreamed those scenes in movies. The effect and windup noises got me in the perfect mood immediately.
00:10-00:25 - Your ability to keep the anatomy and proportions of such a detailed character on point for the entire video is astounding! You get so much emotion across with a very economical number of frames! AND JUST LOOKIT THAT HELMET!!! 8DDD
00:26-00:44 - Now, I must confess I've never played Halo or watched Agent Washington or Red Vs Blue (though I know of the team who made the RUclips series), so I'm guessing these darker scenes are from the actual game or the more serious RUclips show. The colors are gray, melancholy. We see a picture of his teammates and then at the end he rejoins some of them in the colorful uniforms of what I think is Red Vs Blue? Like the main character is aware he exists in across separate realities and he'd rather be in the happy, fun one. "Rather sleep than stay awake" in the real world.
Anyway, sorry for my rambly interpretation I'm not sure why this video affected me so much, but I'm definitely interested In Halo now, lol. You did a wonderful job animating and editing this!
I mean, halo is mostly fun for the gameplay, if you want the gist of the story I feel like you could get it by watching Forward Unto Dawn and reading the wiki real fast. Red vs Blue is kinda tangentially related to the game, only in that it uses the multiplayers to tell the story and offhandedly suggests it happens in the same universe (although, they jump through some hefty loopholes lmao). Personally I would just watch RvB, all you need to know about halo is there's bunch of aliens and the Master Chief saves humanity lol.

Let me explain it to you with my uncanny english. This meme's based on Red vs Blue, an internet machinima show by Rooster Teeth. It takes place in a Halo universe, but you don't need to play it to understand the story. The show starts with two armies, Reds and Blues, that are at war, simple. But instead of fighting each other to take over a box canyon in a middle of nowhere - place they are stationed at - they're just kinda standing around and talking nonsense all the time. First five seasons are mostly about comedy, but then it grows into show with complex characters, heart touching stories, and more that decent comedy that was never left out. I only watched it this year (I didn't play Halo, mind you) and I'm OBSESSED with it. I highly recommend it. You can watch it even here on RUclips (but watch out for comments tho, they're full of spoilers) or on official Rooster Teeth website
