Hey Anton, 3000rpm to 5000rpm is the sweet spot. When I had it dyno'd last got a reading of 105hp and 115 tq. and that was with the SERT. I have since sold the bike back in 2016. Miss it though, it was a fun ride!

Sounds great! My old Heritage was cammed-out and had a S&S Super-G adjustable carb. Took me a while to get it dialed in but when I did, it ran like a stripped ass ape.

Hey Billy - it is 96cu in motor... 585's would be awesome on your FXDC. They will probably have to add hight lift springs and other components to get fit a large cam like that to work properly. You won't be disappointed! You will definitely get more HP and you'll notice the pull!
Before the cam…yes. The 583 cams does affect the compression ratio. To what extent, I don’t know… All I can tell you is that the cam (if properly tuned in a dyno) increase HP and Torque. It is very noticeable!
Brian Hay well it depends on the type of pipes you have and how your tech dyno tunes your bike. The heavy cam sound usually comes from lowering the idle to 800 rpm or even lower. You can search for idle sounds on RUclips is your curious to hear engine sound. Good luck!

You can tell by the tone... you thunder headers have a deep growling tone. Shorter pipes have a midrange tone but load as hell!!! Ever see those sportsters with those one inch pipes? Damn those are obnoxiously loud...
I agree, I have a 2012 - ultra classic, 103, I went with wood Brothers tw222, night prowler cams, lifters and push rods. Tune, Barnett scorpion clutch!! I never thought I would be able to break the back tire loose at 30mph!! Scared the hell out of my old ass!!
Poolshooter wanted to install the cams myself to be honest, I never thought to go with a gear drive conversion....blame it on my lack of knowledge 🤣. It was fun doing the install myself...I do miss this bike.

102hp and 115tq... Stock hp was 86hp. Not bad for a 103cu. I also had a SERT, Heavy Breather Intake and V&H Short Shots. I heard of more horses squeezed out from the same set up.
DobermansRock that could be an option if you’re ok with installing high lift valve springs. Back then I chose the simplest way to increase hp and torque with the 583’s without having to take off valve covers and navigate around the frame to install the new springs. 625’s would have been pretty bad ass!

Porkchop's Papi I’ve been told that by a few of my friends because the loss of back pressure. Before I sold this bike, I had it dyno’d a second time to present to the new owner and the numbers turned out to be 102hp 115tq with a SERT. Much better than the 86hp it was registering originally. I guess the combination of cams, intake and tuner made a difference. I miss the bike though...hell of fun zipping around. What kind of pipe do you have?
@@hawaiianbrokechanic I always ran 2 into 1. RB racing pro stock. Cobra hd. Short duels don't get in the way of engine power at high rpm. But for low end - midrange, long headers properly joined into a slightly fatter collector work better.

I went with the 625G and I am a happy man about it. Work great for just scooting around town. But, if I want to play its like going into performance mode at 2800 RPM and then I just kill the shit out of crotch rockets.

Between 3K-5K rpm the bike takes off… tons of torque to where you can take off in third gear (not that you’d want to).

It's because the people hating think that you loose power with them, you will without a tune but with a good tune you don't have to worry about that.

If you haven't already, upgrade the clutch. I guessing you already have a aftermarket intake, wires and plugs.
