    Thanks for watching! Should I make a proper tutorial at some point? Seems like there's already enough build guides out there.
    Small edit: CHA_FAN stands for chassis fan, not channel fan. Pardon my brain. Got my wires crossed after spending too much time with fan controllers.

    29:52 CHA_FAN2 means Chassis Fan 2... Not Channel. Its called Chassis fan because Fans either mount on the CPU a.k.a. CPU_FAN... OR to the Computer Chassis a.k.a the computer case. So to reiterate. CHA means Chassis; not channel.

    Fair guide! Only thing I'd recommend changing is you should always use all EPS cables and use seperate cables/ports for GPU, especially new powerhungry cards. Also its chassi, not channel. Finally do a test boot/post before mountin everything in the case

    But licking the pins is still ok right?

  • @dismuter_yt
    @dismuter_yt Месяц назад

    The first part with the CPU socket was pretty stressful to me. You should probably tell your viewers to be careful when doing anything around the exposed socket. Holding the CPU well is important, not so much to keep the contacts clean, but to avoid dropping it sideways on the pins and making your expensive board an expensive brick. It's also important to hold the retention lever carefully, if you let go and it springs freely, sometimes it can cause the CPU in the socket to jump and fall back damaging pins. All of this, unfortunately, is wisdom from experience, despite the fact that I've been building PCs since the 90s.
    Btw, you may need to update your thumbnails 😉

    Build looks great, would love to know what Ian is using 9TB of storage for 👀. Also, would love a similar video of optimizing the system, setting up bios (PBO, negative offsets, RAM timings, etc), also fan curves, GPU undervolt/OC, monitoring software, and stability testing. I think it’d be really interesting to see this whole process!

    You actually had the drives installed correctly before you moved the first MP700 you installed next to the other one as on that board the gen 5 m.2 slots are the top one and the left one of the ones next to each other, so now one of your gen 5 drives is in a gen 4 slot. I looked at the diagram in the user manual to make sure I was recalling it correctly.
