well, dont forget master chief is a spartan, and also there is the fact that the pelican the ODSTs were in took longer to crash aanndd they couldve also taken longer to recover
Pretty much what Nossham said. Also that is just hte gameplay look. Probably what really happened was the Phantom dropped troops picked up some more and came back only a few moments later then the hunters broke through the door. Instead of MC and the Marines fighting 20 dozen covenant.
Yeah. Aside from Thorne, Grant, and Davis, most of the IVs are crap. Except Buck and his team are probably Spartans now, since most ODSTs are. Soooo...
It strikes me that the UNSC must be able to cut a lot of expense out of their pilot training by never having to teach them to land. "How do I get back on the ground?" Oh don't worry Corporal, the Covenant/Forerunner/SpaceWedgie will take care of that .

@Jimmy Le it hasn’t though that’s just the way they recommend you play the game for a good challenge if we’re going by the novels and comics legendary is canon for example a brute eating a full mag of ar fire to the face and shaking it off
Imagine if that Minor lived. For his rank he showed insane potential and definitely had the capability of becoming a much more renowned and high-ranking warrior. That ODST just got lucky that the plot extended the primer on the plasma grenade so he could throw his helmet.
@@CrazyDutchguys Yeah Brutes are a downgrade from Elites in basically every way except blind loyalty to their masters. A brute minor is probably not much more than a feral dog. Even if it were a War Chieftain vs an Elite Minor I'd think the elite would win in most scenarios.
@@BananaMana69 brutes are not a downgrade in every way. They are freakishly strong and extremely durable. Theyre on average just nowhere near as smart as sangheilli. A spartan is pretty on par with an elite strength wise, while a brute is significantly stronger than a spartan for example. They're just not as fast as an elite is
I don't know, the frame rate is about as jerky as the original, and the audio is significantly more saturated and muddy now, Also none of altered shots seem like improvements to me. The only real accomplishment is the high detail modeling that is present in all other 343i non-prerendered cutscenes which I kinda find distractingly filled with glare and entrenched in the uncanny valley paradox of realism.
The last two lines are heard in game, and you do link up with Stacker, he wants you to gun on his Gauss hog. (but for the love of god don't let him drive)
Well, when you're going up against an 8-foot tall alien killing machine, with technology _far_ outclassing your own, you take every advantage you can get.
So could Spartan II's and III's. Emile got stabbed through the spine with an energy sword... He turned around and stabbed the Elite Zealot in the neck right back before dying. And he was STILL talking smack the entire time. There is no being in the Halo universe that is immune to get stabbed up or shot up. A Brute somehow fighting after being shot a couple hundred time is pure shock value and not in any way realistic. In ODST, 2 ODSTs pinned down a BERZERKING Brute chieftain who was enraged after being stabbed in the neck. A 3rd ODST charged it and brought it down. That is a realistic representation of a fight. Not a Brutes being invincible killing machines.
That fight with Atriox wasn't realistic either. I'm just saying, why 'side' with Brute power levels and not Spartan/ODSTs power levels if we're going by cannon? You're ready to accept 1 minor Brute somehow taking a mouthful of bullets, but not a couple of ODSTs high on adrenaline, taking down a Brute Chieftain by jumping on him? Also, the games ARE cannon. Most of the books were written post game. The games are the realistic standard. The books are often written in a way which purposefully paints Humanity as outnumbered and outgunned. If this was the Warhammer 4k universe, you'd see humanity completely solo'ing these covenant. And unless they're fusion plasmas or near thermal equilibrium (arc discharges for example), a plasma will not melt metal and metal easily dissipates plasma.
Gotta love the ODSTs. They may not be Spartans, but they earned their place as the hardest, best and most badass of the UNSC before the Spartan-IIs came to be.
Truth be told, I like ODSTs more than Spartans, since they've been able to do incredible things without needing any fancy armor or beyond inhumane augmentations and indoctrination.
Right? Imagine a live action ODST TV show. Like Halo could’ve went with anything in their TV show but they wanted to create a new timeline to accommodate a show about Master Cheeks, who had his armour off more than he has it on. It boils my blood with how much potential this series has and how much they fumble it everytime. Everything doesn’t have to include the Master Chief, you can make other stories too
No, Blur studios worked on it, that is why the graphics are better! Blur studios is devoted to and only makes good graphics, they do no make games. Microsoft and 343 on the other hand, create games and do not focus completely on graphics. When they work together, then comes H2A
I always love it when the developers give ODST's scenes in games. There's such underappreciated soldiers in the franchise. Truly if they were any better, they'd be Spartans!
At 1:03 the Odst soldier say "O'brian is down" I just realized if you watched halo legends O'brian is one of the characters in one of the episodes and if pisses me off knowing he dies in this game I never knew they even mentioned his name
The Roasting Toaster Actually there is also Halo Legends. Halo: Nightfall (about the over glorified Spartan Locke) Halo: Forward Unto Dawn (Caption Lasky's back story) Halo: The Fall of Reach (Master Chief and Blue Teams back story. It's actually based off of the book which I've read and I can promise it's very close. Although the ending was off and the helmets are wrong. Spartans all had the same armor in that time period and they didn't have shields. Other than that it's decent) Halo Legends (this one gives some backstory to the forerunners but if you have no interest I suggest you skip it, its two parts which is very long and can be boring to those that don't care. I'd suggest starting it from the beginning and then jumping those two chapters if you want to just get to the other parts because the movie is programmed to give its credits after each one if it isn't started as a whole. It starts off as a weird animated feature about one of the past Arbiters and then the animation itself progresses. I'm not sure why it's done like that but each story has its own characters and events.)
I really like the little snippets of cutscenes of the covenent. Its a really nice add on saying that they all are more than just monsters. Especially the grunts. Theyre practically forced to do this.
***** I was thinking about a dlc. Like it explains the story of the lives of covenant soldiers. So for grunts it could be like he was taken from his home just to train for 2 weeks, then sent off to battle. His elite minor commander would be another level. It explains his life, then it shows a jackal scouts life, then a hunters perspective, being viewed as a monster, then a drone, whenever it tries to make his own decision, quickly the queen forces him back. And a brute, his brother killed by humans, giving him hatred.
lumpy1space2princess In the book "Contact Harvest" it shows a good amount of the covenant perspective, it even has one of the main Covenant characters (a grunt) wondering why Humans couldn't join the Covenant. I'd recommend reading it if you can.
***** I remember reading a bit. I believe the grunts name was flapyap. He was a deacon, and rather intelligent for a grunt. But I'd really love to see a covenant dlc in halo. To show that they aren't just monsters.

edgartj17 The Halo canon is infamous for having multiple different people who share the same name. For example, there's three different Jones ODSTs, one of them actually being in this cutscene.
HarryBillyBobGeorge The Ghosts of Onyx book also mentioned that 4 other UNSC ships followed the carrier behind In Amber Clad. Kinda disappointing that the new scene contradicts that with how fast the rupture closes.
Dylan V. They followed, but not immediately. One of them was an ONI prowler, (Thus was cloaked,) And the other two arrived during the space battle between the now exiled Sangheili, and the Covenant loyalists. There is a lot of misinformation in this comment section. 1. These are Odst’s a lot of people are saying things like “But the Sarge said get tactical marines.” The Odst’s are part of the Marine corp. And the armour is based off of what Odst’s looked like in the Original Halo 2. 2. The original version of this cutscene was not a deleted cutscene. It was made in 2005 after Halo 2 came out for the multiplayer map pack dlc expansion. Spartan Jameson Locke it is in lore in the ODST book it says it
I'd like to point out that in the time that it took those guys to kill a jackal and an elite, the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson apparently took out dozens of grunts, jackals, elites, and a pair of hunters.
well, dont forget master chief is a spartan, and also there is the fact that the pelican the ODSTs were in took longer to crash aanndd they couldve also taken longer to recover
Pretty much what Nossham said.

thats because elites are smart, Chieftains dont really have to be smart, they're just the strongest in their "clan"
@@CrazyDutchguys yeah. If the elite had charged them like the brute did, he'd probably last half as long
@@CrazyDutchguys Yeah Brutes are a downgrade from Elites in basically every way except blind loyalty to their masters.
MrMilkGaming idk, they do alright with animating some of their own scenes, I reckon if they had the right people, they could do it
I don't know, the frame rate is about as jerky as the original, and the audio is significantly more saturated and muddy now, Also none of altered shots seem like improvements to me. The only real accomplishment is the high detail modeling that is present in all other 343i non-prerendered cutscenes which I kinda find distractingly filled with glare and entrenched in the uncanny valley paradox of realism.
We can watch Grif's balls get brutally maimed in High quality textures.

I WISH HALO 3 ODST was like this. Where each engagement was like a mortal threat. Cause ODST shouldn't be able to melee a fucking Brute lol
Soccercrazyigboman If I can stab a bear, I can definitely stab a Brute.
The Ice Princess sorry dude but.. I think doctor won this argument lol
Soccercrazyigboman Or punch a fucking tank like master chief. Or take down a scarab.

A Halo TV show like this, I'd definitely watch 10 times over!

Kurt Harris Yes and they develop the game. Not microsoft.

The Roasting Toaster yea but Nightfall is boring as hell to watch, and Forward Unto Dawn is mediocre at best.
The Roasting Toaster
Actually there is also Halo Legends.
Halo: Nightfall (about the over glorified Spartan Locke)
Halo: Forward Unto Dawn (Caption Lasky's back story)
Halo: The Fall of Reach (Master Chief and Blue Teams back story. It's actually based off of the book which I've read and I can promise it's very close. Although the ending was off and the helmets are wrong. Spartans all had the same armor in that time period and they didn't have shields. Other than that it's decent)
Halo Legends (this one gives some backstory to the forerunners but if you have no interest I suggest you skip it, its two parts which is very long and can be boring to those that don't care.

I'm sorry, I saw the name, and couldn't hold back.
And a brute, his brother killed by humans, giving him hatred.
lumpy1space2princess
In the book "Contact Harvest" it shows a good amount of the covenant perspective, it even has one of the main Covenant characters (a grunt) wondering why Humans couldn't join the Covenant. I'd recommend reading it if you can.
***** I remember reading a bit. I believe the grunts name was flapyap. He was a deacon, and rather intelligent for a grunt. But I'd really love to see a covenant dlc in halo. To show that they aren't just monsters.
This aged like fine wine. Nine years ago and it still looks better than most games out today.

can't say the same for the elites, 343 jacked them up good. original halo 2 animation of the elites was the best one out of all the games.
Thats because 343 didn't do this design.
343i doesn't do a lot of designs. Many of them are outsourced to 3rd party art studios that MSS picks from.
I don't think it's even a redesign. Classic Halo 2 ODST's looked different to the ones in Halo 3, and more like the ones seen here.

This is the remastered version of that cutscene 10 years after Halo 2 came out but 9 years after this cutscene originally came out ( 2005-2014 )
