My friends had brought up this game in a recent conversation and how they thought it was the worst Halo because it was so over-dramatic. I said "HOLD ON, BACK THE FUCK UP." and talked some sense in them. Turns out none have them have ever beaten the campaign, even on Easy. Time to get new friends.

Lore Fact:
Out of the 39 billion humans that were estimated to be in the early 2500's, 23 billion humans lost their lives during the covenant war. I know that this is just a game but after playing the original trilogy including ODST and reach and finding out those facts it just hits you in a different way. The lore is just so deep and amazing and it saddens me to see how different the games are now and let's just forget about the paramount series....

What I love about Halo is how it isn't just another shooter, it's a story about honor, a story about courage, and perhaps most importantly, a story about sacrifice...

@@Angst-traum oh I've seen it and as a halo fan it's disheartening seeing the franchise be mistreated like that. I think that's the reason why they went after halo. Because halo depicts those said themes of courage, selflessness, honor. Hollywood doesn't like that and likes to demoralize people with their nihilistic tropes

I have never EVER felt so overwhelmed emotionally from playing a game. I still remember Jorge saying "Contacts? It's the Damn Covenant" on the First level and i get Goosebumps. I was heartbroken from every Noble death and i doubt i'll ever feel so thirsty for Covenant blood ever again,no matter how many trilogies there will be.

As Noble 6 grabs the bomb, he then proceeds to use his jetpack. Noble 6 then remembered... jetpacks only bring you up a couple yards. The bomb killed everyone on the ground. The end.

I saw this in theaters when it first released before the movie trailers started, and I recall the packed theater getting so engaged and quite within seconds it began. By the time it ended my wife looked over and gave me a very concerned “are you ok?” -as I head tears rolling down my face. Excellent execution to a live action Halo experience.
Right? It hits you right in the feels. I find myself stumbling upon it now and then, as we all do, and I don't think there's ever been a single viewing of this trailer where I didn't at least tear up a bit.

Damn, watching this made me shed a tear because a flood of memories came back to me, when you played with your clan mates and just go around acting like a bunch of fools, dying of laughter, having a really really good time. Making friends, becoming almost brother and sisters through this masterpiece of a game. Extremely good game.
True... So many powerful cinematics in gaming revolving around brave last stands and the loss of honorable badasses. Especially the ones about the death of a noble (hah, pun) last stand. This one for Reach, Artanis overloading Xel'naga temple (SCII: LOTV), Dying Light end-scene, Thrall & Grom vs Mannaroth (WCIII), and the list goes on. They strip me of my man card each time. I either want to hit the gym or cry like a little bitch.

This gaming trailer is one of the most powerful of all time. But it holds a special power to me because my son was diagnosed with Leukemia and we played Halo Reach Co-op to distract us from the horror of the children’s Oncology Floor. The saddest part is we didn’t know how the game ended so we tried to “beat” that last level together and fought so hard at times and eventually looked up that death was inevitable. Not matter what type of coordination and teamwork we would eventually die. I then told him we passed the game the previous level and it was just bonus context but then that night I just cried in my car. Like the efforts and non stop fighting we would do would not matter in the end. This is why I cry every time I see this trailer. Because I am reminded of his years and years of bravery.

This game... This trailer... Just brings back some many great memories as a child... I can remember watching this trailer almost everyday, just getting excited to get the game for Christmas... I played this game so dam much... I love halo 3 but honestly halo reach is my favourite halo game by far... They tried new things with game and I liked it. Not going to lie, I wish I could relive some of these great memories again

It shows the sacrifice these Spartans commonly made in the books. Also the story of this trailer, which doesn't have any dialog, is better told, and thought out then the 50 minute disappointment we got. They're just trying to make the chief a rebel which is completely antithetical to his actual personality.

I know this may sound a bit insensitive, however I believe, seeing as this was Bungie's final Halo game, they wanted to make a proper goodbye. The fact of the matter is, they did it in the most honourable way possible, by Remembering Reach... Where it all begun and where it almost ended. When Noble Team died and Reach was glassed, thats when Bungie died too. The people who are in Bungie now has lost sight about what truly made Bungie 'Bungie'. They want to know where to find it? They must go back to Reach and the Trilogy, that is the legacy that they left behind.
How did we have all these masterpiece cinematics and they still couldn't get a TV series right?
12 years later, it's still the most emotional, and story driven commercial in gaming released, and it entirely feels like those "It's just a Game" videos.
This is how advertisements and games should be made, because nothing else has come close to this masterpiece.

Dang dude... the song really made me think of all the great times I had playing this game with my best friend. We were only 10 years old, a more simple time ya know? No homework, stress, realizing how fucked up the world is, just good times hanging out with your best friends playing video games. I’m now going to college in the fall, living on my own in a different state. If one thing is for sure, I’ll always remember those amazing times playing Halo Reach.

Disagree: Why do you think ONI created that logo "Spartans never die", because everyone knew real UNSC soldiers died, in bulk, and not only by the enemy but also by ONI. On the novel about Reach ONI purposefully jumped the gun and killed a big Covenant charge thinking that the whole lot of UNSC soldiers guarding that place couldn't take them on and they all died with the Covenant, without even being given a chance to fight.
They don't make em like they used to, RIP video games 2019.

I still remember being a kid, excited to play this game. What a wonderful trailer, what a beautiful game. It's nice to have the same feelings today as I had in 2010, even for a little while.

Looking back at Halo Reach, all I can say is that it’s such an incredible game.
I played this since I was only 6 or 7 with my brother, not even understanding how emotional the story, death and basically everything was. Now that I’m older I can finally see how good it was to play especially reaching the ending.
Lesson of the day, do not arm the bomb til you reach the destination

this is exactly why you DO arm the bomb, incase you all die. what you dont do is set a short timer.
setting the bomb for arm on death was smart, so that if everyone died the bomb still go, even tho Kat didnt die, she was instead wounded, but the bomb armed
If they armed it where it is ment to go off it would of either been a short timer or given them enough time to disarm it
I believe this fight was a losing battle until the bomb when off. It wasnt even a big win and more of a stall.
1:43 My favorite scene in the entire trailer. Thomas just looks at this army, as if it’s the entire invading armada. Instead of tossing the bomb, he just stares off into the distance. He could’ve thought to himself that humanity was at a hopeless battle or bathe in the glory of destroying the ship. His last action seems decisive, as soon as the bomb activated, he makes a break for it only to be consumed by the mass destruction of the bomb.
Part of me believes he was just in awe of how much backup the enemy forces on the ground had in the cruiser above, another part of me believes he wanted to make sure the bomb went off and decided to stay with it, but realised he would be more use alive, too little too late.

This is what halo fans want in a tv show or game. Bravery, sacrifice, and characters to truly root for and miss when they’re gone. The amount of lost potential is saddening at times. Remember Reach.

The good old days, coming back from school and playing this till midnight. Infected mode, everyone would always go to the same spot (normally at the back of each map) and survive till the end....I miss these days...😩

I remember being an 11 years obsessed with halo already , I couldn’t wait for Reach to come out . The day it came out I begged my parents to take to game stop to buy it . We went out to the fashion valley mall and I bought it , my dad said okay but don’t be up all night playing it . As soon as I got home I showed my cousin what I bought and he was so happy , that day we were only two missions away from beating the Campaign before we fell asleep .. Man memories when Halo was the Shit !

this actually took me back to my childhood when i had this trailer downloaded onto my ipod and i would watch it over and over for what felt like hours while i was in bed. i just finished watching it again. i was 12 when i first watched this trailer. im 23 now and i still tear up every time.
The game that truly gave me an appreciation for good campaign stories, and altered my gaming path forever. Thank you Reach
I remember watching this trailer for the first time with a friend of mine and we had my brother drive us to blockbuster to pre order it. Many fun memories playing this with my friend and friends. Now I don't speak with her or any of them. Break my heart. Love this game though. It will forever be one of my time machines to the past.

I really do think the Covenant-Human war is far more relatable than some other story revolving about the Forerunners.
I mean this universe is incredible and the notion of mankind to spread so vast in the galaxy is really interesting (similar to the one of Mass Effect). And just as in Lord of The Rings (and M.E), a story where mankind as a race stands before annihilation is just so compelling.
And the way humans are losing are so cool, one planet at the time, one battle at the time, one heroic sacrifice at the time!

I would really like another game like ODST, playing like a human soldier. Dirty, gritty, HARD and scary. Not on some superhero impossible missions but simpler ones in a more "local" environment (residential areas) in a war zone. That HALO game would feel both epic and relatable while also a bit fresh.

Better if it's not all black and white though, halo 2 showed us the sangheili are not just monsters, they were simply deceived by the prophets, I hate that halo reach forces you to fight the elites again.
@@dukenuke3851 To be fair, Reach was a predecessor to the following events of the Halo rings, so it would make some sense to clash against them once more.

anyone wondering why kat set a 5 minute timer on a bomb while she's being sprayed by convenant blasters and she's like miles away from the convenant battle ship carrier... kinda makes sense why nobel 6 (thom) was staring at her and the bomb like that , he was probably like" did you hit your head hard when you landed or somethin?"
This trailer made me more emotional than the Halo TV show did.
