@@Tyztube21 Daniel Cudmore, the actor for Master Chief, watched the Landfall series and read all the Halo books in preparation for the role. He had played all the Halo games prior to casting. He was made for this.

The scene where Kelly-087 and Frederick-104 remove their helmets, while John-117 does not, shows the filmmakers' deep respect for the character. However, Paramount had to fuck it all up.

Halo 4: Forward unto Dawn is the best live action movie adapted from a game. That's really Master Chief. He is calm, responsive, and directs everything decisively. he braves danger to save the last survivors on the planet. he was willing to stay and stop the enemy so that the survivors could escape. he always sits on the outermost part of the ship and is always ready to fight. Master Chief is truly a hero. 👍

5:55 this is the moment ALL Halo fans want. We all starred at Master Chief and yet he will not take off his helmet because he's just that cool. The helmet should always, I repeat, ALWAYS stay on.
Not really. Even in original novels he took the whole armor off. Although, whenever he wears armor the helmet should stay.

Problem isn't taking off the armor. Just showing his face every damn time and the cheeks was just ugh. Like, it's alright when we see his face a lot from a child up to his teens before he starts to wear the armor more post Insurgency early Covenant contact, but the show is non-canon. So there's that.

Schreiber did pretty good in Halo season 2. Way better than season 1 that's for damn sure.

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was great Movie that didn't get enough Love at the time it realised and the fact a Movie that wasn't made for Master Chief being Main Character that still somehow portrayed him so well and stole all of the scenes that he was in was truly one of the best portrayals of him in Live Action.
He didn't need to take of his Helmet to portray his Humanity it was his actions that truly showed how Human he truly is as a Perfect example when John tells Kelly over the Coms "You have to hold the Pelican. I won't leave them. Chief out." This one small line perfectly shows how the Chief doesn't care if it's just simple Cadets he's saving because to him they aren't just cadets they are people that need help which shines his Humanity brightly without sacrificing his core character.
I only wish that Microsoft would care more about Halo and not allow It's main Character to be butchered in such a terrible way like how it's been allowed to by the Halo Tv Series.
And to think that kid went on to captain the Infinity. Kinda recontextualises the scenes between him and chief in halo
Iirc 343i intentionally made this to kind of “hype up” Halo 4 and give Lasky a backstory. Kind of like the Hunt The Truth marketing campaign for Locke & his team except they kept it simple with just the movie

Love that they kept the sound of the weapons, my only gripe, barrel of the minigun wasn't spinning when firing.

I don't know what some fans have with a chief that shows a lot of his emotions, this chief was simply amazing without speak too much 📈
The thing about Chief before he meet Cortana is he rarely show any fluctuations change in his voice or emotions that's why many times we call him machine even the emotional one like Daisy can handle her emotion in the battle. Pablo master chief is simply to human, and to emotional. He will be a good spartan 4 though

hundreds of millions of people killed with out a thought. the was was beyond brutal considering the covenants saw acts like this a right of religious passage.
Considering that this Mk.IV suit served as a prototype for Chief's Infinite suit, 343 should add it into the game. Make every canon Chief suit, and make it interchangeable for the campaign for the real-time cutscenes. I would LOVE to see this dark-green suit in the game.

Reach was the 2nd important (probably) planet next to Earth, Reach has a lot of defenses and manpower. This planet was just a training facility
@onyx_gabriel You are correct. Reach was just as important as Earth. Which is why its fall was the UNSC's and humanity's worst nightmare come to fruition. If Reach fell then there was not much stopping them from reaching Earth. (Seeing as Reach was the bastion of most UNSC naval weaponry, ships and troop training.)

I don't care what people say about this movie, I love this movie, I just wish they got a bigger budget. It shows they care, I honestly cried watching it, this is Halo and it will always be. Halo is perfect and can be done under people that care, new lore isn't an issue. But you give a backstory to a new character and this is how you do it, but also showing Chief in is prime, but also showing that he well help/shield any normal person from harm. It shows the human side of Chief that we don't usually see in game, this is nice to see in terms of his character.

When 343 wanted to humanize chief, they really nailed it in here. It's the perfect balance between being human while also being Bungie's stoic Master Chief. The way they went about it in Halo 4 and Infinite felt like they tried a little too hard (no opinion on 5, I'm leaving that out).

My ONLY issue with this was the armour Fred & Kelly have at the end... its completely wrong but given the circumstances it gets a pass. This was made by true fans of the series who understood the lore and the characters.

I'm not mad at the actor in the show because he isn't Steve Downes. I don't want him to talk like Steve Downes. I want him to talk like Master Chief. A character's voice the embodiment of the character,, which is why it breaks the immersion when you get, not a bad actor, but a mismatched voice. If you switch languages in something you like, you could likely name the characters because they still carry the character's energy.

yeah I saw this when it came out and was like "great hours of random marines to get a bunch of slow mo shots where he didn't really do anything with the story" I have a feeling halo fans needs for a live action is literally just the game on screen like just brain rot the hell out of it and you have what halo fans want
My only gripe with this movie are the unnecessary amount of slow-mos. Apart from that, the action sequences are decent, Chief behave so much better here, and the story ties in so well with Halo 4, especially with Lasky you'll get to see in the game. Despite the low budget efforts, they nailed what Halo movie should aspire to be.
How I would describe the current TV show can be described in the words of Halo 2 & 3 shipmaster with few twists:
The props & costumes suits the TV show, but it cannot hide that mark of terrible writing.
Either way, no offense to Pablo being the actor himself, he did what he could, but whoever in charge of the writings with the character really need to go or take notes with this movie. How can people wrote an existing character into far more reckless person and even worse than the side characters like Vannak and Kai is beyond me lol.

iirc the production team was originally going to use Downes for this, but it was a conscious decision that Chief needed a younger voice to reflect his younger age at the time this story takes place. So they pivoted to Alex Puccinelli instead.
