200th video! One of the issues with covering some of the most popular songs is that if you don't add your own stuff in it, it's just lost in the sea of other covers. I made very slight changes, not because I thought they were better, but because I throught they would lend to my personal style and tone. Guile's theme is an absolute classic so it's tough to change it up but it's necessary. Let me put it to you this way, if Jimi Hendrix played All Along the Watchtower exactly like Bob Dylan, I guarentee it wouldn't have been as popular. I see a lot of comments not just on my stuff about putting too much of the artists interpretation into a song rather than playing it exactly how the original is. If you're one of those people, consider that an artist utilizing creative freedom isn't a mistake, it's the idea of why their doing it.
Mixingand master was interesting here. I've been reverting back and forth a few lead guitar tones that a similiar in sound but not shape. Last week I tried a way more trebly tone since this one that I ended up using again is very lacking of natural treble. Turned out that it's easier to take away mids than take away treble from this tone so I reverted back to this tone. I get so many compliments on my rhythm tone but I still feel like I'm far away from what I'm trying to get out of it. Even with two videos left in Year 3, I'm still struggling to get the sound I want. It's a lifelong endevour I guess. The better you get at hearing this stuff, the more mature your ears get. It's almost like trying to get older than your older brother! Anyway, not a perfect analogy but I think you know what I mean.
We're coming to a close! Next week is the last weekly single song in Year 3! It's very dear to my heart and I've been waiting a long time to do it. It's kinda in the same catagory of last year's second to last cover and you'll see why. :)

Guile theme starts playing
No one talks about the brilliance of actual composers who composed these legendary pieces back in 1980s and that too for an 8 bit game console. The melodies of these themes can give a reality check in the ass to most famous metal bands of all time. I have tremendous respect for them.

Great cover of Guile's Theme. It's one of my favourite tracks from Super Street Fighter 2, but admittedly I love the soundtrack of that game with a few exceptions that I just like.
It was one of the three first games I had for the SNES. It was christmas 1992 I think and my dad had bought me and my brother the SNES and bought 3 games which were Super Mario World, Super Street Fighter II and Super Probotector(a.k.a. Contra III)
This definitely goes well when I comb myself Guile’s hairstyle...slowly.
Congrats on 200 videos man, that's really impressive! I can appreciate trying to add your own spin on things without straying too far from the original track. It always kinda bugged me a bit when someone either stays TOO close to the original, or conversely adds in their own entire section or something.
Not that either of those things are necessarily bad, it's just preference. For me, just adding some personal touches to bolster variety and taste; don't reinvent the wheel, just add some chrome spinners to it. Ain't nothin' wrong wit dat.

I always felt a strong connection to Guile in Street Fighter. My uncle was Army Airborne and I thought Guile was Army Airborne too. As a kid that was really amazing. But I think I read something more recently saying he was actually in the USAF. That the revelation is strangely soul-crushing.

I think the bass was muddled by the rhythm guitar parts. He could have run a low pass filter on the chugging sections.
