One of the few metal covers that actually keeps the style of the original games' soundtrack because it's not too concerned with making it "more metal".
My main problem with remixes nowadays, not just game and movie soundtracks, but just remixes in general. Is that they try too hard to be original, for example metal covers add extra riffs, guitar solos mid-song. Or a dubstep mix of a song will sound like the CD got stuck for half a minute, and then there's usually an obligatory base-drop. It really pisses me off when people use shitty half-asses remixes in their RUclips videos, and I'm just sitting here screaming at my screen: "WHY NOT JUST USE THE ORIGINAL?!"
@@trainknut Hi, just wanting to jump in six years later with no knowledge of if you changed your opinion in any way. Why not just use the original? Because the original already exists! Irrespective of hearing a song you like in a different genre, why would you listen to a cover of a song that changes nothing about the structure when the original already did the same structure perfectly fine? Further more, we’re not trying to make music to be used within a game, and as such are not trying to make it loop in exactly the same way. Instead most of us who do game covers are deliberately trying to make an interesting song out of what may be at the longest a minute long loop. Sometimes it’s even shorter, but is treated like a full song with verse/chorus structure. Equally this is why people add solos: to break away from what already exists and make it sort of their own. Most arrangers, Jules especially, aren’t deliberately trying to disrespect the original material. But rather, out of respect for it, make it their own. I believe that’s Jules’ philosophy when it comes to his covers; the original already exists and does it well, so here’s my take on it. Again, I must reiterate; it’s not in any disrespect for the original material. There’s a very deliberate methodology behind how Jules arranges his covers (or how I do for that matter). It’s very formulaic actually!
I cried tears of joy and leaped MILLIONS of feet in the air engulfed with the flames of justice and awesomeness screaming SHOOOORRRRRYUUUUKEEEEN!!!! KEN RULES!!! WELL DONE JULES YOU'VE MADE MY DAY!!! YOU'VE MADE KEN FANS PROUD!!! GOD BLESS MAN!!! 😉✌✌
I watch and listen to your work more than any other artist here on youtube because of two things. You play with feeling and passion and you do your absolute best to preserve what makes the original songs great, amazing and catchy while putting your own flair into it that actually flows with the song instead of against it. Thanks for sharing your art with the world sir. You truly are a great artist and musician! Keep it rockin for us!
This is really great! Just curious... would you be opposed to letting me use this song for the intro to a crappy videogame podcast that I do with a friend and nobody listens to? We are both Street Fighter fans and this would be perfect!
I honestly have to say that this young and very gifted and talented young brother really did amazing job with playing this theme to my favorite character since I discovered and played the game my self amazing job my guy keep up with the gift and talent
There is not yet enough metal on this planet! So thank you for adding to the score, and thank you for providing flawless mp3s and WAVs. this goes right into my databank for eternal listening.
I’m enjoying this because it’s wonderfully constructed and performed and, while I was always more of a Ryu player, Ken’s theme is indisputably awesome.
Funny, as soon as I saw Sargon had said "Ken's Theme is perfect for guitar", I knew you'd be the one who did the cover. Been a fan for quite a while now, but I didn't know about this cover until Sargon played it at the end of his videos. Rock on, dude.
Sick cover of one of my favorite game songs. Blast from the past. 1980 something, maan I can't even remember when SF2 came out, that is how long ago it is.
this is a "cover" taking the original and making it their own while still maintaining the essence of the original tune. This Bangs hard even 11 years later!
Kinky Fish It's kinda cool if the good part of the viewers of this video were brought here by Sargon. Guy is playing really good he deserves more views, and with that more cash from yt :-)
+faissialoo Well the theme is based from a Video Game character that just happens to be an blond white-American heterosexual male that nearly dominates against all of his opponents (including women) in international fighting tournaments, hence the "toxic masculinity," and heir of the richest family in the Street Fighter series, hence the "white male privilege," not to mention his last name is "MASTERS." So I'd say Ken's theme is a perfect amalgamation of what GamerGate & the Patriarchy is painted to be perceived as. :3
iddaishan You're right, I know about the 3/4 Japanese, part, but I do think he comes off more as a white guy than a Japanese guy, and I'm assuming most people that don't know the storyline see him as a white dude too. But I didn't know Kanzuki family was richer and I did forget about the Bison's wealth being greater; I should probably start acquiring more Bison dollars before all of the nations' economies crash. :3
Whoa, epic and musical - nice job FamilyJules7X! Hard core guitar at it's finest! If you're a Ryu and/or Ken fan, I combined both themes into one song for 2 violins and piano. I also timed it to a double-KO gameplay video between Ryu and Ken. It's pretty epic and I invite you to come check it out!
Fucking great! Pure adrenaline into the veins! 💪 Your solo and variations perfectly matched with the spirit of the character! Great job man! My vote is 💯!
Nah, it was "Soul Kyuumetai" from the original Hellsing anime. I liked that song, but this is WAY better, I do wonder why he switched in the first place.
"Hey, Ken, Can I cover your theme song?"
"SHURE-YOUUU-KAN!"
you nailed ken's personality perfectly!
Mephiste Sulfurion lol, that's Ken's answer to everything.
Mephiste Sulfurion ahhh you just made my day, bravo! Great guitar work in the Vid too dude
Mephiste Sulfurion Outstanding! LOL!
LOL!
Street fighter 2 intro theme + heavy metal + 9 years ago = GREAT NOSTALGIA
This not just a remix of Ken's theme
THIS IS THE KEN THEME!!!

Now THIS is Ken's theme. They've really not done him justice since SFII. Well done, sir!
