Great review, Stubbs. Looks like Hygger thought of everything with this product: ergonomical, a telescopic spout to direct flow, bio balls, extra sponges, double chambers, suction cups and options for set up. Why wouldn't you use this product???

The Odessa barbs are absolutely beautiful and deserve the best of the best!! One thing for sure is I know is they are with one of the best of the best fish keepers around!!! Sponge filters have really changed up the game for keeping fish along with LED lighting like Hygger's!! A perfect setup for me is a great sponge filter, lots of plants and an easy-to-use light! Put that together with a deep substrate/sand bed and it can't get any easier than that for me!!! Not only do they work great like you've explained, it really helps save money and upkeep in the long run like other types of filters that are out there!! I love that they're safe for use with fry and shrimp as well!! I really like the double sponge design on this! And the addition of the bio balls 🙌🥰 I know how fish keepers are, sometimes we do like to try new things... this gives you the option of doing that if you woyld like to. (And you get extra sponges as well!! That is fantastic!! ) The directional flow is nice too 👍 Great review and demonstration Chris!! Always looking forward to your updates!! Thanks for watching.. I really like the filter. I am doing a change today to see how much it captured . So far I really like it. But based on its performance so far ...Yes I would buy it
I like the review on this sponge filter Chris. I like to see the combination of mechanical and biological filtration. I agree with leaving the space for the biological filtration in the cavities provided. It will perform much better if some spaces left for movement. It is also great to have the flexibility to orient the sponges based on your tank configuration and desired effect. This brand of products seem to have been capturing the users needs on a broad scope. 👍
Effective product with a simple design. I've used the same design product from another brand in the past and the only draw back I guess is it's hard to hide unless you have a tank full of plants like you do when you switched it. Great review buddy and always learning alot from your channel 👍😁
Thanks so much for all your support! Sandor These products that they make are really good. I'm really impressed. Want to thank you for your excellent comment. I always look forward to hearing from you
Thanks so much pal. I really appreciate it. I think it's a great product. I really appreciate all your positive comments and all your support. You really make it worthwhile doing this
I have this same filter in my 105ltr tank. The tank has had a few changes of stock over the last two years or so... But, I found it really good for my smaller fish like Cherry and Checker Barbs, alongside my Platy's too... However, I believe this filter is said to do for a 210ltr tank... I'd be worried in putting just one of these filters in a tank of that size... It has done well in my 105ltr tank, but bigger with a bit more stock? Hmmm, I'd be less inclined to trust it. Now, with larger fish (Golden Barbs and Goldfish types) it is not good... Yes it keeps the Ammonia and Nitrites down, but Nitrates are a constant higher level... I still use it for my Goldfish, but I also use an internal Sicce Shark ADV 800 alongside for the main reasons of "Muck Removal" as this filter alone just can't handle it alone... Takeaway:- This is a great filter for the price, and will serve you well with a stocking of Low Waste types of fish, but just because it says it's good for a 210ltr tank on the box, you should consider it to be for a 100ltr tank. Working status:- It works very well for what it is, and I'd be happy to suggest this for anyone with smaller 50-100ltr tanks with small fish. I've had mine running for over two years now, the sponges are of good standard with fine filtration, it is shrimp safe, and it is easy to clean and maintain. The best bits are that you can clean one sponge at a time ensuring that you never crash your cycle. And, that it is cheap to run using just an air pump for both filtration and oxygenation. Looking to get a few more for my 240ltr and my 65ltr tanks soon. Mainly because of how well the filter has lasted over the last two years (never had to use the second set of sponges yet)... Great filter, simple and effective.
Hi Andrew Thanks for watching and commenting. It's nice to meet another Barb fan. I keep all kinds of barbs and have several dedicated tanks for them I agree with you about these filters. . I wish they were actually bigger I have been running them in 90, 100 and 125 gallon tanks but they are my secondary filters. I use hang on back as my main filtration. Like you said they are great for shrimp or small fish. I have one going in my shrimp tank and also use them in fry tanks. I agree about keeping them cycled. Really good comments Andrew that were well thought out
@@stubbsaquatics6080 Yeah, Barbs are cool fish to keep, and I feel that they are often overlooked by many folk who should give them a go. They would not regret it. My comments are from my experiences with these filters, they are good, but they should be recommended for smaller tanks and smaller fish. My wish also is that they did a bigger version with larger media pots. The plus side is that you can get quite a bit of Seachem Matrix in them too. I've used filter floss in them too to polish the water with great results. All the best good sir, to you, your family, and fish!
Hi Vicki Thanks for watching and commenting. .The directional spout can be under or above the water If under obviously the bubbles go up If above the water is drawn up and falls down into the water causing oxygenation. . It is really up to you and what looks and sounds better to you. The cleaning aspect is not changed.

You should. It's a really good product. Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it and looking forward to your next video
Great comment.
Very well thought out and well explained.
Thanks Jonathan
Effective product with a simple design. I've used the same design product from another brand in the past and the only draw back I guess is it's hard to hide unless you have a tank full of plants like you do when you switched it. Great review buddy and always learning alot from your channel 👍😁
Thanks so much for all your support! Sandor These products that they make are really good. I'm really impressed. Want to thank you for your excellent comment. I always look forward to hearing from you

@@stubbsaquatics6080 Your welcome Chris and I appreciate the kind words!! You have a great channel and I'm glad to call you my friend!!
Hello Marvelous 👍🔔🤝🤝🙏🎁
Thanks
Hi Andrew
Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's nice to meet another Barb fan. I keep all kinds of barbs and have several dedicated tanks for them
I agree with you about these filters. .
I wish they were actually bigger
I have been running them in 90, 100 and 125 gallon tanks but they are my secondary filters.
Ive always wondered if a BIG sponge filter would work in a Koi pond 🤔🤔🤔
If there is anyone out there to figure that out... You will
@@stubbsaquatics6080 been trying to find some big circular foams to give it a whirl.
Keep hunting
Should the directional spout be above or under the water?
Hi Vicki
Thanks for watching and commenting. .The directional spout can be under or above the water
If under obviously the bubbles go up
If above the water is drawn up and falls down into the water causing oxygenation. .
It is really up to you and what looks and sounds better to you.
The cleaning aspect is not changed.
Why does this feel like a product placement
Lol
.the thumbnail kinda is.. I have updated my videos on Hygger...
I bought one so I was watching. Just an off hand thought I had with all the brand pictures lol its good. The substance of the video was very informative
