    Andrew, very much appreciate you slowing down the club speed to better reflect how the amatuer golf might perform with some of the modern day equipment. Not nearly enough of that on RUclips. Thanks again. Mich

    Very nice review. Smart , showing results for varied club speeds. That was a good idea.

      Andrew , I just got fitted for a complete set of these. I now have the 3,5, 7 and even picked up the 9. I got the SFT for the 3,5,and 7. Regular for the 9 as its not available in the SFT. I hit many shots with these and was amazed how straight they all were. Even the 9 that was not SFT. These are the best woods I have ever used . Ping has a winner on this one. Cheers Andrew... Thanks for getting back with your thoughts, and kinda thought you would agree to basically go with what I already have. Not long ago I went to get fitted for the new Callaway Epic. Bought the club, played several rounds with it, then returned it. On the course it (I?) failed to get the numbers of the fitting.
    Thanks again,
    Steve

    I agree with your comments on the slow swing speed. More loft is good. I have the Calloway fusion at 12 degrees., which I love. I was more than interested in your test.

    Interesting that you can still cut a draw biased driver. Good review, as always. Thanks

    Andy, do you feel that reducing your swing speed truly reflects the performance of the SFT at that speed. Why not enlist a high handicapper and or a mid handicapper to do the reduced speed analysis so we can actually see how it performs for them.After all this club is more for that type of player.

      Hi Jon, dont have access to Callaway products so not able to pass comment.
      I would find a fitter that has both and do a comparison.
      Best regards
      Andrew

    Which driver goes farther? the G400 or the G400 SFT?

    • @andrewainsworth497
      @andrewainsworth497  5 лет назад

      Depends who is hitting it Joe. SFT is great for the golfer prone to a fade/slice. Thanks for watching.

    I have recently been playing with the loft and lie on my SFT G400 driver. It would appear that you are limited to adding one full degree of loft to 11 and assume that you can flatten out to another 1 degree of lie. I am going in the next few days to try this out on the range. I was fitted years ago for a 12 degree and found it great for getting the ball up, especially with the ball placed off my left toe. I found it comical on your last shot at 237 mph and you expressed some discomfort. Reminds me of a Clint Eastwood movie where he says, unquote..” a man’s got to know his limitations “. Why do we commonly see this when a player pulls out the “big dog” and try’s to knock the ball into the next zip code?

    If I cut down this driver from 45.75 and cut it down to 44.5 and add like 12-14 grams to the head, but place that leadtape more towards the toe, would the club be more like neutral then?? Like your videos! thanks!

      Hi George, would not recommend shortening the driver. I always get them made to order from the manufacture. Chopping a inch off the end can screw up the swingweight, shaft flex, kick point etc.

    You have a reverse c finish and short back swing very 80s

      Grew up in the 80's so no big surprise!! Have tried to change it many times, but the old swing always comes back. Thanks for watching. Regards Andrew.

    Hi
    Your back spin with the 102.8 mph is 4050 rpm this is like 2000 rpm too much. With 2000 rpm less you can get like 30 to 40 yards more carry.

    You were the first to demo the new Ping 400 at 3 different swing speeds. Was considering the LST option but now wondering if it would help at all with carry distance at an 87 average swing speed. My 2016 GBB Bertha and 2016 M1 are achieving the carry distance you showed, plus a little more now. If you were me, a 77yr old, would you spend the $$ for this new driver?

    • @andrewainsworth497
      @andrewainsworth497  7 лет назад

      Hi Steve, generally the LST works well with higher club speeds. Both the drivers you have are very good. I would personally advise you to stick with what you have. That said the only way to find out is to get on a Launch Monitor and compare the numbers. Hope that helps Andrew.
