Yes please that's a beauty. Keep up the good work
This is one of many on my wish list. I really love the looks of it, but there are several others, like the new Freek in M4 that I also want. So many knives, so little money to buy them with, lol. Thanks for sharing another great review LTK!
Really awesome reviews!!!
I love my ZT0470, probably my favorite ZT of the 5 I own.
I too have had the issue of my fingers touching the lockbar increasing detent strength. Totally agree with the bolster lock idea, would improve the design.
Thanks LTK.
This one. is a beauty. A great design, and a decent size too.
Plus, who doesn't love a satin finished CPM-20CV blade!
: - )
Yeah. This knife is pretty handsome :]
I hear you about the non matching show side and lock side. It drove me crazy at first, but I don’t think of it much anymore. (I can only see one side at a time) lol…. Great vid, very entertaining!
Holy crap I thought my 0470 was messed up! That lock bar issue is so easy to miss! It is one of my favorite designs that I just never carried but now I can!!!
Well said... Not chased or cherished. I still own many ZTs that are very sought after but will never leave my collection this one not so much
What would be the advantage of having the back spacer made from Ti? Aluminum is lighter, and the spacer doesn't need to be really strong.
LTK I agree with alot of what you said in this video.
Awesome knife!👍🔪💖
I agree. For that price all materials should be premium. I do love the looks of this knife though.
I like it ok it's not my first choice the 0640 is favorite ZT Artisan is hard to beat still love my Apache gotta have the archero
You’re right on about opening this thing. No more frame locks purchased sight unseen for me.I hate this🖕🏼🔪
I had the same issue with the lock bar and being such a small knife there’s very little space left grip without touching the lock bar
LTK, I had issues with the detente also so I took the knife apart and removed the over travel plate and bent the frame a few thousands of an inch so as to take the pressure off the detente ball. That solved my problems. I own other ZT knives that I like better but are not this attractive.
Thanks for the review. The "presentation side" allows knifemakers to provide dimensionality...make it more than just a chunk of grey metal. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course. This one's a beauty, all class. Agree on the clip, terrible.
What Twosun model did you briefly show checking the detent?
The feist did that too me, till I figured it out, but that one was frustrating for me.
Test the HRC of your Zero Tolerance knives.
WOW! Go OFF on ZT why don't you!!! LOL! (I think that I heard Flanagan chiming in in the background, too! 😎). I skipped this one...ehhhh. I agree with your critiques...My only ZT purchase this year was the 0456CF sprint run...Since it is contoured and milled on the lock side I love that one just as it is, but I just picked up a Cheburkov Tukan and I got my lightning-strike CF on the backside, too!...(better bladeshape for my daily needs, but that knife is in a different price range).......
I thought for sure you would pull out the Kershaw atmos to compare since they are so similar in design...liner lock design is way better on the atmos
how much of the 20 min was that rant? Holy hell
I hate that you have to be so careful how you grab the knife to flip it. I change off my EDC's and this one always has been a issue. I made a longer clip ,but it would have to be to long to cover much of the frame lock. The only other way to keep the clip a normal length and not have this issue would to be put a new clip with tip down. That would require tapping new holes. I might try this approach.
Go get em LTK. I'm with you brother.🐴👍👍
Gorgeous knife. I would be afraid to put it to work even if it’s engineered for it.
The framelock is definitely a weird Kai issue. I’ve got Kershaws foreign and domestic that require a certain level of attention to deploy reliably.
I have no issues unless I intentionally try to squish it, as far as deployment.
10-4
Hey brother. Your issues with ZT is coming down on this knife. I have my own issues with ZT knives of late but I own 10 of them so I am a fan. This knife is really nice and a joy to carry. I'm not a fan of the pocket clip. But after loosening the detent the action is fantastic.
how did you loosen the action? mine also has a stiff action
Mighty stuff
“Hey! We’re Zero Tolerance! Come rest your head on these laurels!”
Give em "what fer" LTK -- you go son !
Maybe I was a little harsh, but I don’t much care for it.
Memo, memo, who's got the memo!
Now repeat after me: No more wire, strike that, no more frikin' backspacers!
3.5" is just fine, 26 million Korean women can't be wrong.
There is a reason its called the Show Side. Unfair to compare a frame lock to any of the liner locks you showed. Also, you do realize that milled pocket clips essentially equates to no deep carry. I'm on the hunt for a spring steel deep carry clip for my Civivi. I also notice you're not calling out CRK for all their "plain" off sides and stamped clips.
I've been waiting for White Mountain to get the 470 back in stock. Sign me up.
Also that’s why the say the “show side “lol
You china has more resources to be able to do all the stuff they doo. Zt is trying to make enough profit to keep their knives made here
Very interesting. This is my first ZT knife. And my experience with the detent is opposite yours. Mine is so soft that I need to put a bit of pressure on the lock bar to get it to snap out. Otherwise it will only partially deploy. I'm one of those people that will only give a vendor one chance to make a first impression. I guess I won't be buying any more ZTs.
Was really diggin this knife until this video. You give 'em hell LTK!
ANOTHER FRAMELOCK NIFE..Jeeezzz
and why not?
Ti framelock flippers is where it is at at the moment.
7Steels what would you prefer?
@@waveman0 I knew my comment would get a rise out of some people. But for me personally, framelocks are totally unnecessary in a folding knife. They are also easier to manufacturer than linerlocks, yet we are charged extra because of the use of titanium (which is not that expensive). And the linerlock side messes up the design of the knife. The public has been brainwashed into thinking that they are better than linerlocks.
@@7Steels I don't think the frame lock is better than a liner lock, for me I feel they are about the same. To be honest I like both about the same and only EDC folders that have a frame lock or liner lock.
@@waveman0 OK...
That's fine. I'm just bothered by all the knife companies coming out with some really nice designs, but ruin it by having a lock bar cutout on one side which destroys the design symmetry... as in the case of this ZT knife above, which is beautifully designed. Some folks may not know that you can put a linerlock in a titanium handle, aluminum or stainless steel... it just takes some extra machining. That's why I said earlier that its easier to manufacture a framelock than a linerlock. Also, since I'm a lefty, my thumb squeezes the lock bar of the framelock when I try to open it and stops the opening. I don't have this issue with a linerlock.
You lost me, I think cf on both sides would look horrendous. A rant that was not needed imho. Ah well To each their own. Then again I hate the look of most zts and the ones you were showing weren’t anything special in my eyes. This is the first and only design that actually got my attention from them.
So, you like the 0470?
I get that you don’t, and that’s fine. Different strokes.
but a 20 minute venomous rant? I can watch Apostle P for that.
Jim M I get ya. I think I beat that dead horse too long. I was just really upset that ZT didn’t do better considering the really nice design. But I understand. It was too much ranting.
@@LuvThemKnives I'm okay with the 20 minute rant, man. so to each his own. I personally enjoyed the video
