If ever there was a man who needed an Iceman, it’s this guy. The 80’s may have left Dagan, but Dagan hasn’t left the 80’s. Keep on rocking, my man. I salute you!
@@PMTVUK that’s even better. He’s a semi modern day Marty McFly (who didn’t go THAT far into the past… another reference that is before his time). I dig it. :)
I bought the blue one. Altogether one of the best playing, sounding, set-up guitars I have ever bought straight out of the gigbag. That body for some reason sure does resonate and those pickups are fantastic.
@@TylerJohnstonGuitar He does have the Fireman (agree, they're awesome too). But if you search "Ibanez Ice-Stroyer" you'll find pics of a hot pink beastie Paul used in Racer X. 😁
I first discovered these guitars through Daron Malakian’s use of them with System of a Down (and later Paul Stanley and KISS) and I’ve absolutely loved them ever since so it’s definitely cool to see these finally get a reissue, and if I ever get one I’m going to keep it strictly in Drop C and play a bunch of SOAD riffs because of Daron
Congrats on the new guitar! Been into Icemans since Paul Stanley started using them. The burst looks very sharp! The Pelham blue looks a bit weird on an Iceman but probably because that classic color on a radical shape isn't what one usually sees compared to it in ghetto flake, like on J's (White Zombie). One day I'll have that Paul Stanley model. Enjoy the @#$% outta that guitar, Dagan! 🤘
Lots of people asking for the Destroyer to come back. I would like to see the Destroyer again too but it is not as original as the Iceman being a sort of Explorer _copy._ Although this version of the Iceman in particular can be seen as a crazy Les Paul it is different enough and distinctive enough to qualify as an Ibanez original.
Let's not forget the J. Yuenger signature Iceman from the 90s (White Zombie)...that cool green sparkle with stars. I think it came with V7 pickups, but he says he played Duncan Custom in the bridge at the time.
He and his lead guitarist V. Santura are the reason I fell hard for this shape. The tones on CF's Monotheist are out of this world and Triptykon's Eparistera Daimones surpassed that. Also, Meshuggah have gone on record saying their LACS Iceman 8s are the best sounding guitars in their entire collection.
This is an interesting mashup of the IC400 and ICT700 Iceman guitars. The body is the smaller size of the 700 with the thinness of the 400. I look forward to checking it out.
I've been an Iceman fan since the 70's (before it was actually called the Iceman) and have owned many over the decades. Currently own 3 of them. While I'm glad Ibanez brought the 6 strings back again I'm very disappointed to see the cheesy Jatoba fretboards and Chinese construction. The Iceman deserves more respect. It's one of Ibanez's few original designs and IMO the coolest looking guitar on the planet. The Iceman (and Destroyer) belong in the permanent lineup instead of randomly showing up. If Ibanez insists on keeping these budget friendly guitars then they should also offer Prestige versions for serious players.
Second comment. Not sure if Dagan does comparisons, but if so, I’d love to see one of the Iceman vs a Les Paul (Studio is probably the closest you’ll get in price while still being a similar guitar… the latest LP that is basically an SG in terms of thickness doesn’t count).
I'm over the Pelham blue. A natural would be nice. Or an antique ivory. The tobacco looks nice but I'm not a fan of the perimeter burst. It does look nice on this shape but wouldn't be the top of my list of specs.
These look amazing! Especially the solid blue one. Just wish they used rosewood or ebony for the fretboard. That pale brown fretboard color really ruins the look imo.

Hell yeah! However he was born in the 90’s so he missed it anyways 😂 … But he wishes he was a part of it! Haha
@@PMTVUK that’s even better. He’s a semi modern day Marty McFly (who didn’t go THAT far into the past… another reference that is before his time). I dig it. :)
god i hope this is a sign that we'll see more icemans, trems, colors, premium and prestige etc 😮😮
🤞🤞🤞
No kidding, I mean make them with Floyds neck through., remember the HR Giger Alien IM and J. Yunger modals !
I bought the blue one. Altogether one of the best playing, sounding, set-up guitars I have ever bought straight out of the gigbag. That body for some reason sure does resonate and those pickups are fantastic.
It definitely fits him, and he sounds great playing it!
Ibanez flying finger pickups just like they were in the 70’s Ibanez models
this guy's a one man show .. it's actually dope to listen to him talk about guits and then play them .. 🤘🤘
Love the Iceman. Coolest shape Ibanez has ever come out with, unless you count the Destroyer.
I love the Destroyer, but the Iceman is my favorite. It’s so weird. :)
Paul Gilbert's Icestroyer was a pretty cool shape too.
@@allan-shephard I think he called his the Fireman if I’m not mistaken. Awesome guitar too!
@@TylerJohnstonGuitar He does have the Fireman (agree, they're awesome too). But if you search "Ibanez Ice-Stroyer" you'll find pics of a hot pink beastie Paul used in Racer X. 😁
@@allan-shephard is that an upside down Destroyer, like his Fireman?
Dagan makes everything sound and look so good.

Ordered one of these guitars, it's on its way. Thank you Dagan, you crushed it.
I like em...nice job Ibanez 😎👍 Awesome playing as always

Awesome, now if they would bring back the Destroyer!
There is no such thing as a bad guitar when it's in the hands of a good guitarist.

I found one today at my local second hand shop and had to try it. As a bass player I can't remember the last time I wanted a guitar so bad 😂
ICE ICE BABY!!!!! 🤘
Looks so much better than the stock photo.
I have an 80s Iceman (from new) in the same metallic blue - hopefully, with these releases, I can finally get some replacement knobs!!!!
D Man. That Iceman suits you well. Always wanted one myself .i think its time ..Rock on.
Wow, its so huge massive sound...
Great sounding guitar!
Sounds great, looks great
Now that is a sweet iceman guitar and I would love to have one of those in my collection!
Love an Iceman, and the sunburst looks pretty damn good 💥🎸
He looks like he plays the iceman
I've had a 1978 Greco mirage for a long time. They totally rule. Kinda glad they're back but also resentful newbies will be rocking them too 🤣
Ibanez, please bring back the Destroyer!!!!!!
*This video is Paul Stanley approved ⭐️
good collection!your real treasure !
Loved these since I saw Rick Neilson with one (late 70s). Opened for KISS so a weird connection there.
Listen to the Cheap Trick song “Surrender” and you will finally understand the connection
@@ag1now I mean, I saw Rick with one before Paul. I know the connection in the song.
I should probably get one of those...
One guitar player I like that plays Iceman guitars is Thomas Gabriel Fischer who was in the band Celtic Frost. Today he has a band called Triptykon.

Dagan, it sounds like you are in a restaurant and the catering folks are setting up tableware in the background! ;p-) Great review, sir!
Yeah, there was an active warehouse next door 😂
i like the blue because it resembles the one matt parrillo from dystopia played

A iceblue mirror crackle paint job with kill switch and sustainer please
Be nice if we could get a Daron malakian signature iceman
That'd be awesome!
Prob couldn’t happen though since SOAD is on hiatus
Would’ve sold well 20 years ago, now, not so much
The most expected comeback of a guitar
Seriously that guitar totally fits you.
That’s why he bought it! Haha

I want me an Iceman!!!
Just bought the PS120. It rawks
Love this dude. He does not give a fuck and just rocks out.
And that guitar is a smoke show
Paul standLey’s guitar 😮
Been hunting an SG but this may take the prize instead
@PMTVUK Dagan could you please make a review of the Ibanez AR420 VLS ? Cheers!
I don't really like the look of it much, but it sounds awesome.
I really fancy the blue one but I want a guitar with a floating trem, maybe something for the future
Now THAT would be cool!
I like the blue one better but i really like the iron works flat black 7 string model.
can I ask a question? Would you say the IC420 sounds like a les paul or is it completly different? Are the pickups hot or not? Thank you!
System of a Down baby
I wish I knew what kind of pick ups daron malakian uses in his to swap these out with

Looks great! Does anyone know if this model has neck dive?
I’ve got one and it’s really nicely balanced!!!
Bob1 from DEVO!
Suits you dagan
Uhh. Now I know what I have to save up for.
Galactic green, with stars, WZ all the way 😂
Here was me thinking I didn't need another guitar....
If I bought from Dagan, would he sign the back of one for me? Or include an autograph?
IC420? Is there an Indica & Sativa version?
Did they make anything with Xiphos or is it just the iron label model?
What’s up brother
Sup 🤘

The most IBANEZ guitar that Ibanez ever came up with is the ICEMAN..
want/need please
Yup, as did Dagan! 😂
Why blue ;-; all I want is one of these LP standard looking models in black
Does anyone know the tabs for modern day Delilah by kiss ?
Paula Stanley
They need to stop shipping these with the cheap box switch and mini pots.
Great! 👍Tuners? 👎
Haha! Guessing the . . .um . . .treble cutaway is intentionally phallic? It looks cool! (In a so uncool it’s cool retro way)
How thick was that neck?
Not a wizard is it?
Everything looks small on you
I love the shape... not a fan of those colors
A trem! Put a trem! Please?
