    Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to try to educate the vast majority of homeowners who just don’t no where to go to get a basic understanding of a job they may encounter once in their lives.

    Perfect!! Exactly what I needed to understand a quote given by a “not-so-professional” painter. Such a high price that I’ve decided to tackle the job myself. I have done plenty DIY projects that I feel confident I can do it.
    Absolutely loved the visuals of your project because i’m going from a dark mahogany red to white. Such a HUGE difference in color going from black to white. 👏👍 Very helpful to me!!

    I am a little confused- When you indicate $92.86 Door & Drawer- Do you mean as a set? Or is it $92.86 per drawer and per door? Please advise. Thank you so much.

      @@Карандаш-г2ъ that's the most idiotic comment a turd could say. How the hell would you even think of that from his comment. His comment is spot on correct, why the hell would you pay 15-20k to paint a used cabinet when you could make them and install brand new for practically the same price.

    25 doors and drawers faced only no inside cabinets but back of door only. From stain to white oil. In Texas I charge $1600. Over 25 doors and drawers $2000 inside another $1000
    Repaint already painted I charge half

    A place local to Minneapolis suburbs just quoted me $12,600 to paint our solid oak cabinets. I gave them a count of 52 doors and drawers. The size of the kitchen is similar to the one in this video. None of our cabinetry is in bad shape at all. I’m absolutely floored that they quoted that much. I just about have given up ideas of this project with a quote like that.

    • @thegoodthebadandtheugly9920
      @thegoodthebadandtheugly9920 Год назад +5

      This 3900 quote is very very low, also as you can see from the hanging doors, they're not caulking any doors either. In your case converting lacquered oak cabinet over to paint grade takes a lot more work than the previously painted cabinet. In California, you're looking at around $115 a drawer and 135 for every door. That's going to be just priming and painting them, no caulking and no wood filling to minimize the wood grain with the oak

    if SW emerald were good for cabinets then why doesnt one single manufacturer use it? conversion varnish or 2k urethane is the correct finish, and dont hire a painter hire a wood finisher

      It could be a personal preference..some people like to use sherwin Williams, Dunn Edwards,Benjamin Moore,as long as you don't use home depot paint,it all comes down to prepping if you do a good job sanding,filling,masking and use the right paint for the job there's nothing to be worry about....

      SW Emerald or Ben. Moore Advance are a good paints for trim and lightly used built-ins. But kitchen cabinets get a lot more use. They are touched often with wet or dirty hands and get cleaned with degreasing cleaners. A catalyzed coating (2K) or a conversion varnish are required for a finish that will last for years and look great. These are the types of coatings that kitchen cabinet manufacturers use. The easiest coating I have used for kitchen cabinets is General Finishes Enduro White Poly. It is a 1K coating, but has a durability rating for kitchen cabinets by the KCMA (kitchen cabinet manufacturers association). It must be sprayed, but unlike a 2K coating, it doesn't require mixing in a catalyst. This finish costs about $120 per gallon. BTW, the kitchen job shown in this video should cost about $7,500 to $9,000 depending on the market area. Spend a little more and get longer lasting results.

    Most kitchen cabinet jobs I paint are around 23 to 28 drawers/ doors . I normally charge about $800.00 . And I do not spray yet...I use mini rollers.Think I will bump up my prices a bit.... I clean them then degolss...no primer then 2 coats of Emerald or Marquee from Home Depot. Only need one gallon of paint and that will 2 two topcoats. I used to use primer but now just degloss instead....quicker and easier... $3.900 is a bit pricy....

      I wonder how long your finish lasts, your process is a recipe for disaster. Marquee and Emerald are garbage and are not meant to be used on cabinets. No primer? Wow, hopefully you don't get sued by a client for ruining their cabinets.

      @@Grafarion I bet you can't even tell the difference in texture, when the job is done right. Who's in their right stage of mine, is going to over pay someone to paint their cabinet when you can buy an airless paint sprayer that cost 100 dollars, if they don't consider roller or brush. I painted many cabinets throughout many home I owned that look very nice just with a good quality paint and primers, using just brushed and rollers. So, don't tell me about professional finished, boy!

      Lol yea and your cabinet job will be peeling within 3 months. Brushes/Rollers do NOT belong on cabinets...when you get new cabinets, is there brush or roller marks on them? Absolutely not... it will never beat a spray gun.

    • @hangeles80
      @hangeles80 3 года назад

      Nothing is hard if you know how to do it, but what it seems is that you're cheap. Of course anyone can paint with a roller and a brush but the end result is different when you spray and do the right process on REFINISHING cabinets which obviously you don't know. For a cheap person like you your cabinets look nice and probably your family members and friends won't tell you the truth because they either know you're cheap or don't want to hurt your feelings, but I'm pretty sure they look like garbage. You mentioned that you can buy an airless for $100 which again shows how cheap you are. a $100 airless is pretty much garbage lil boy, you don't sound smart making these comments, go paint your houses and dont make stupid comments believing you're smart and skilled but when the real truth is that are just cheap.
