Thank you, Katie Porter for forcing her hand. Her people probably told her that she would probably lose to you so she did the selfish thing and spared herself the embarrassment. But thank you, thank you thank you you will not be missed Dianne Feinstein. I will always remember with pride all of the campaigns I worked on challenging your leadership.
@@B_Bodziak no thank you. I am done with corporate Democrats. That’s what we’re finally getting rid of with Feinstein… That’s what we’re stuck with with Padilla. I’m ready for a working class champion back in one of our Senate seats. We haven’t had that since Barbara Boxer.
I looked it up and as of December 2022, the youngest U.S. Senator is Jon Ossoff (Georgia Democrat) at 35, the average age is 65 with 4 Senators at that age, there are 37 Senators that are at least 70, and the 2 oldest are Diane Feinstein (California Democrat) and Chuck Grassley (Iowa Republican) at 89 years old.
We currently have 16 sitting US Senators who are older than 80 years of age. That is ridiculous! Set an age limit! Nobody that old should be making decisions for anyone.
Their term is 6 year. These old farts have been re-elected multiple times. What makes you think the electorate would choose anyone who is any better? Besides Bernie is 81. Should he retire?
She quite literally forgot her retirement announcement and about an hour later - went out to talk to reporters and they asked her about her retirement - and she said she had not announced her retirement. THEN - her aide standing next to her had to forcefully interject and tell her that the statement was given to the press etc . . YES - she is this deep into dementia and she is STILL IN OFFICE.
It’s almost like there should be a policy to prevent something like this from happening again. Oh, that’s right…. Policies, law, etc ONLY apply to civilians (99% of civilians). 🤬
Is there video of this? That would be atrocious. Isn't weird how democrat voters expect more out of their leaders yet republican voters expect nothing? Except own the libs...
It’s so sad to see anyone go through this but to let her stay in office til Jan 25??? She can’t even remember her office issued a release stating she wouldn’t run again. She isn’t capable of doing the business of governing and needs to bow out with grace…now.
Hallelujah!! She has been holding a seat for some many years now while having Dementia and not even being aware of the day nor year on any given day. Let's get Katie Porter into that seat in 2024. Go Katie!!
As far as I'm concerned, that should apply to anyone in any political office at any level. I don't care if you're the mayor of Onestopsignville in the middle of nowhere, no stocks for you.
200 millions increase? Man, that generational wealth government money is something else. She got paid like she was dunking on brothers in the nba for 30 years or something.
Any aspirant for any federal office must submit to mental competency test upon reaching *49* yrs of age - including incumbents - in order to stand for election or re-election (as opposed to "75" or "76"!). {Mental capacity is the real issue rather than mere chronological age}
She did not write that statement, her staff did. It must have become very oblivious that her abilities have declined. Support a real progressive vote Katie Porter in 2024...
This just in, she is announced that she is running for 2024. When asked about the previous release, she said she does not recall ever announcing she would not run in 2024
Come on Katie Porter you can do this. Cali is deep blue. Progressives need to come together and forget their disagreements and go all out to get her elected in 2024. We can’t let the establishment get this seat! We can do this 👍🏽
The funniest Feinstein moment was when it was revealed how much the government was spying on Americans. She said nothing. Then when it came out that government officials were spied on, she immediately held congressional hearings and cried in camera about the warrantless invasion of privacy on… government officials. 😂
Ana says, “when I was a kid and my parents didn’t have enough money for health care”. My god, there’s something desperately wrong with the richest country in the world. 😢
Sorry YTY, I gotta make a fact correction here... Harvey Milk was NOT mayor of San Francisco when he was assassinated. He was a member of the Board of Supervisors representing the Castro District within San Francisco. It was actually George Moscone who was mayor when both he and Milk were assassinated by disgruntled former Board of Supervisor Dan White. Dianne Feinstein was another member of the Board of Supervisors, and after Moscone had been assassinated, she was appointed mayor of San Francisco until the next election which she successfully campaigned and won two terms as Mayor before she joined Barbara Boxer to rep California as US Senator. I was born and raised in San Francisco still live here, and although I was only 6 years old at the time, I remember it all very well. And yes the biggest reason for Feinstein's Crusade on gun control is directly related to the tragedy that eventually led her to become senator in our United States Congress. Another (not fun) fact- this tragedy, along with the Rev. Jim Jones situation ‐ The People's Temple, and the infamous cult mass murder-suicide massacre where over 900 people died in Jonestown, Guyana rocked San Francisco. The People's Temple was headquartered in San Francisco, and the majority of Jones's followers were native to the San Francisco Bay Area. Both the Moscone/Milk assassinations and the Jonestown Massacre (along with the murders of Congressman Leo Ryan, NBC correspondents and reporters who where there to investigate for people being held there against their will) happened within a week of each other, in November of 1978. While I don't agree with much of her policies and much of what she's done as US senator over the last decade, Dianne Feinstein has one of the highest ratings as mayor of San Francisco to date. She actually lead The City through one of the darkest periods in its history.
Oh thank God she's finally stepping down. It was appalling that Schumer and leadership covered up her condition and backed her run in 2018. Feinstein used to be one of the faces of senate Dems. The fact no one has seen her for 10 years is not a coincidence. She's been faltering that long.
Ah, Dianne, I expected this, and it is appropriate. She has served california well for decades; she leaves now with good people ready to take her mantle and seat in the Senate. Farewell and thank you, Senator!
I think that if we have a 2 & 1/2 term limit (10 year maximum) for the Presidency & a majority of Governors have term limits, we should also have term limits for all members of the House (I say 10, 2 year terms), Senate (3, 6 year terms), & Judicial Branch (at most 20 years). I feel this is the only way to ensure we prevent complicity in our government by constantly changing it!
Prime example of why we need term limits. How long has she been in government? 60 or more years? what has she done? probably lined her bank account with our money. is CA any better off for it?
I got news for Anna and TYT I currently live in Georgia and lived in CA for 13 yrs previously and all the states are disasters but at least you live in a blue state Georgia has crime, homelessness etc just as bad but with red state laws
It's not about someone's "time"? There's no taking turns in politics, either you're a good candidate or a bad one. Hakeem Jeffries waited until Pelosi stepped down as Speaker of the House, but Jeffries is also owned by the corporations and I don't care if he waited, he's still a bad choice.
Thank you, Katie Porter for forcing her hand. Her people probably told her that she would probably lose to you so she did the selfish thing and spared herself the embarrassment.

Adam Schiff is also running for the Senate.

Katie Porter for Senate!
...And then one day, for *President!*
Are both Ca Senate seats open in 2024 because Schiff is also running.
Thank GAWD she is FINALLY stepping down!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Agreed, but the real problem was the California voters should have voted Feinstein out decades ago.
She staying another 2 years. That's 20 years past when she should have retired.
Your job is to do all you can to get Katie Porter elected
She was NEVER a public servant.
I support Katie Porter... 😎

Not an age limit. Set term limits.

A 90 year old woman decides to retire 😅
I think a more accurate headline would be Fienstein staffers announce her retirement.
Hallelujah!! She has been holding a seat for some many years now while having Dementia and not even being aware of the day nor year on any given day. Let's get Katie Porter into that seat in 2024. Go Katie!!
Katie porter for president
Was going to say Feinstein was the worst Democrat ever, then I remembered Manchin & Sinema. Whoever replaces her will be an improvement
yes indeed
Let's give Feinstein credit for some of the great things that happened while she was in office, like the Louisiana Purchase.
She served nothing but her own interests to the tune of 200 million dollars , WAKE UP !!
After the butt-kissing she did to put Barrett in the Supreme Court, I was done with Feinstein.
It's time to move out a lot of the fossils from the House and Senate.
Senators shouldn't be allowed to own stock period.
As far as I'm concerned, that should apply to anyone in any political office at any level. I don't care if you're the mayor of Onestopsignville in the middle of nowhere, no stocks for you.
Mutual funds only
200 millions increase? Man, that generational wealth government money is something else. She got paid like she was dunking on brothers in the nba for 30 years or something.
Great, this means Adam Schiff is going to be the next Califonia senator.
There is no way in hell the corporate Democrats will let Katie Porter win.
I think that may be why Schiff announced.
End the gerontocracy. Mandatory retirement at 70 for all federal offices, elected or appointed..
Any aspirant for any federal office must submit to mental competency test upon reaching *49* yrs of age - including incumbents - in order to stand for election or re-election (as opposed to "75" or "76"!).

Thank GOD. It took only HOW much public pressure for her to get it? I hope Katie Porter gets that seat. She can do a lot with it.
Good Riddence Katie Porter 2024.
FINALLY, Feinstein was been decompacitated for at least a decade. Californians please vote for Katy Porter!
It's about 40 years too late.
The problem was the California voters should have voted Feinstein out decades ago.
She should've resigned 10 years ago
Should have never been there

I truly admire the accurate and factual information. You guys present on your channel.
But she doesn't remember making the announcement. Lol
at the tender age of 64, i want to see our country run by 20, 30, 40 year olds. people who have a future in front of them
I'm also tired of all us old fucks not learning and fixing mistakes.
This is probably the best thing she has done for California in the past decade
Her seat has been vacant for the last couple of years. Her staff have been doing her business.
As LIZZO said "ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!"
Poor lady is probably going to forget not to run.
Thank christ

Schiff has also announced a Senate run. Are both seats up in 2024? If not, Schiff and Porter may split the primary vote.
Great news hope MS. Porter steps in and take her place.
The mainline Democrats are running Adam Schiff, Califfornia can't let that happen. Nothing will change. Porter would be a better fit.
"I will not run in 1924. I want to leave office while still in my prime."
Thank goodness!!
I voted for her the first and second times she ran. She needs to go, her interest are not the interest of her constituents.

There are term limits already set by the people.

Go Katie Porter!!!!!

She is what...93 years old?
She should have retired 20 years ago.
Fienstein helped my union local when contractors tried to force us into. $4/hr. pay cut. We ended up with a $4/hr raise.
Which union? She didn’t help ours when we asked her office specifically.
After 1000 years in the house it is time.
Many more need to step aside and let some younger senators run. She has accomplished a lot over the years. Godspeed and goodbye!
Careful, she might forget what her staffers did and announce a re-election bid tomorrow!🤦♂️😅
Of course not! she can barely remember her own name or that of her colleagues! This shouldn't even be a question...

I thought Sean Penn got shot by Ru Paul...... or.....
something...?
All politicians need to retire at 65.
I favor a maximum age limit for holding political office. After a certain age, it's just not your future anymore.
Holy crap! About time, y'all! Damn!
