      Joe should have asked more thought provoking questions regarding what the guy actually thinks consciousness is. The guy didn’t really go that deep on the possibilities. Consciousness is one of the most interesting philosophical subjects you can talk about. This moment was wasted. Joe could have got him thinking. The guy was just as clueless about consciousness as anyone else. LOL! It’s general Zod!

      I think I watched 3 clips. When I saw the one on consciousness I watched it last and thought it would be insightful, but it wasn’t. My personal opinion is that science cannot touch or measure consciousness and that’s why the discussion was boring. Only philosophy and logic can touch upon what consciousness is. If I’m wrong I’ll be proven wrong in the future if science actually identifies what consciousness is. I just don’t think that will ever happen.

      Either consciousness is computable...in which case there is an algorithm for it.
      Or we define consciousness as not computable...which will mean we will never be able to define and quantify the difference between biological intelligence and machine intelligence.

    I think the answer on consciousness should be searched via meditation and relaxation.
    I once was relaxed so much that all i was left was a tiny spot of consciousness somewhere inside my brain. If you go that far weird stuff can happen.i had an out of body experience, probably stepped into another layer of this reality. My consciousness 100% for sure didnt fall asleep.
    Opened my "eyes", somebody was already waiting for me, i was brought somewhere, was tested to see how i could hold myself when bombarded telephatically i think. Things work different there, more instantaneous, i failed and was brought back.
    When i opened my eyes in this reality, i felt i hadnt slept, that this did happen and i was mentally soo drained i just broke down..
    It was the toughest experience i ever had. We need to explore that place/state of being. I feel its important.

    • @justinlloyd6475
      @justinlloyd6475 Год назад +2

      @Hank do you believe where you go when you dream is real?
      I think it's good to know that when dreaming, one's brain releases a few different chemicals to keep the body from moving and also to numb the mind so it can re-energize during sleep. I think when meditating, one isn't flooded with those chemicals and has a much clearer and imaginative view on their dream state, during the meditation. My point being that the clarity of meditative dreams might be so convincingly real feeling that it can be overwhelming. Compared to your sleepy drugged up dream state in sleep.
      Bare in mind; I am a Christian, 7th day Adventist, so I believe consciousness to be extremely complex and completely reliant on the soul. I mean the visions that people speak of in the Bible are extremely representative of some meditative experiences.
      Anyways, I hope that my words can help you with some new interpretation of what is maybe happening- or that I can invoke a new idea in your head that may lead you to a satisfactory conclusion 😊

    Im a novice in this subject, but this man was incredible and it got me thinking: if there are different types of microtubules (if i understood that correctly), and they exist on every cell in the body, then could it be that their symmetrical pattern, combined with location, electromagnetic pull and grey matter in the brain act as a pyramid creating a sort of ignition to the microtubules in the brain. Being that some regions dont appear to be/act consciously, perhaps these tubules are constantly morphing, moving from on, off, and superposition, creating a conscious spark whilst in superposition. Depending on engraved neural pathways, the tubules will decide when to switch on conscious experiences in the cerebrum (conscious, decision making) and cerebellum (subconscious, or flow). Therefore intelligence is simply microtubules harmoniously acting in superposition to produce more conscious experiences in more regions of the brain, and the same is true conversely. Just my thoughts tonight

    Sir Roger penrose is an absolute genius and wonderful person who really earned the Nobel prize he won a year or two ago. I love his lectures on how he calculates how to completely cover spaces with strategic placement of different shaped "tiles" , of which he has names he's come up with for many common shaped ones he uses often in his work. The most interesting research he has done though in my eyes is his theory on how universe's are created which is way to in depth for me to try to summarize on here but if you haven't heard him speak on this theory he has you must look into it and watch a couple of his lectures on this theory he's come up with , which also makes the most sense to me out of all the different theories I've heard about how the universe was created , like the "big bang theory " there was nothing and there technically can't even be nothing if there was truelly nothing because even nothing is something but then suddenly some how BOOOOM and the universe was born , gotta be the fucking stupidest scientific theory I've ever heard in my life honestly along with the theory of how our moon came to be which some moron came up with and called the "whack theory". For anyone confused. Goldbach’s conjecture states that any even number can be expressed the sum of two prime numbers: 12 = 7+5 etc.
    Mathematically this is either true or false? Though the ‘truth’ is that it is undecidable as we will never run out of numbers to test. Forever a mystery, a question which can never be inequitably answered, a question of faith and a metaphor for the truth of our lives. We must learn to live with ambiguity. Or put another way, we are not machines, our brains are not computers, or steam engines or made of clockwork, we are living organism, we are animal! (Chimps)

    • @gstylez0107
      @gstylez0107 5 лет назад

      I disagree. All that's truly known about the mind and matter of conciousness is that we know little at all.. Yet.
      It's a matter of measuring the synapse and neural networks in the brain. Once we develop the tools to do that, we will likely be able to map the mind and reconstruct an artificial conciousness.. I don't think we are magical animals. I think we are organic, biological machines and we can be synthetically emulated..
      But as of right now, it is all just conjecture.. None of us really know for sure..

    Joe you gotta interview him again! You must hear him talk about his model of Conformal Cyclic Cosmology, which claims there is evidence of supermassive black hole collisions in the cosmic microwave background radiation in the form of concentric circles from a previous universe. The theory says the absolute end of the universe (all black holes evaporate and nothing of mass exists) is conformally identical to the big bang. So the entire known cosmos from big bang to end is nothing but a series of infinite universes occurring one after another. Super interesting and IT MAKES SENSE!

    Very interesting theory. It does sound very reasonable to think micro tubules play a role in consciousness given that they allow the cell to restructure itself, move key molecules within itself, and even move around in its environment. It would be very interesting to see whether the actions of a micro tubule (the way it grows and restructures itself) are a consequence of some underlying consciousness software program of the cell or whether its actions are driven completely by physical laws and through that consciousness arises.

    • @ZT_Performance
