Primes hands on class is awesome , although I'm not a refrigeration driver I still enjoy learning how to make minor repairs to refrigeration unit so thanks prime
Happy to hear that! We are working on adding additional info to the class for Flatbed/Tanker. If you have specific ideas you would like to see us cover, please send them our way.
@@PRIMEINCTRUCKINGHow bout changing tractor airlines. I want to see some repair videos for apu(things that we can service or repair without needing a shop). 1)replacing transit heat lines 2)replacing broken/blown lights on tanker
This happened to me in Easton Maine. You can remove a bolt & nut from your mud flap to use or a couple of real thick zip ties. I used zip ties & it is easier said than done, really tight area to work in.
What size bolt? How about adding a bag of bolts, nut and washers to the trailers like y’all add clips for the chute? Not everybody is going to have bolts on hand.
I love it 🥰 Man I was going to take it the local travel center to get fix amazing I just put a screw that fit I compared it to the other side pin and is working great 👍
Good video but you only talked about one problem. With this component. I'm in the shop now getting one fixed it had a hole in the airbag just learning today that that thing in the middle is an airbag would like to know how it works.
Dean Tha kid thanks for watching! Yes. Definitely helps to have some tools and items on hand to save time out on the road. Have you attended the pro maintenance class yet?
My trailer pins keep going back into the locked position before I can actually move the tandems the locking pins will disengage at the release valve and i can visually see the pins release but its like once my foot hits the service brake in the truck to move the tandems somehow it locks the trailer tandems pins back into the locked position even though there is no air being given to the tandems at the time of attempting tandem movements, I've never experienced what this trailer is doing its odd
Our rails have Teflon pads, so any type of grease will actually hold road debris and cause them to get sticky, the only thing we suggest to put on the slider rails is soapy water if it seems sticky and doesn’t want to slide correctly. Thanks for watching our video!
Hello! If you're a current Prime driver, you have the opportunity to take Pro Maintenance with Tyler Patrick from our Road Assist department. During that class, you'll learn how to do many different repairs to keep you from having excessive down time. If you're a current Prime driver and you're interested, reach out to your Road Assist advisor.
If you’re that lazy, then why don’t you get someone to pump fuel and check your fluid levels.... so you don’t have to do anything except DRIVE. I’d say a driver with that mentality is definitely LAZY.
Keep these videos coming out first time this happened to me. I had no ideal how to fix it.
Twizted Big D thanks for the feedback!! We’ve got several slotted to post in the coming weeks.
I just happen to see a Lowes, swung in and grabbed some new washers and cotter pins. Bingo!
Thanks for checking out the video!

L3G3NDARY BERSERKER awesome! We are adding an APU section to the Pro Maintenance class soon. We will work on videos for these ideas.

2.5 inch long 3/8 shoulder bolt with lock washer or nylock nut.
Great tip, I have also used a stick to do this in a pinch till I could get to the shop
CASH1846 thanks for watching!
You didn’t say what size of nut to buy to put on. Great videos but they should be more detailed.
Good question and feedback. 2.5 inch long 3/8 shoulder bolt with lock washer or nylock nut

Will Prime give us a few bolt washer to keep on hand to fix these.

Love the videos. But how are you so clean ? Every time I've done this, I come away looking like I've rolled in a grease pit. lol
jb3237 😂😂 We should have made a disclaimer that the setting is not completely realistic.
Ok great idea that means I should have those types of bolts on deck as if it gets loose while driving idk where to find that lol.

@@PRIMEINCTRUCKING no I haven't yet but I plan to shortly, i have tools on my truck but can we pick up those bolts at shop?
Dean Tha kid yes! They have some in the parts department. If you have any issues getting them, let me know.
@@PRIMEINCTRUCKING thnks will do
thanks
Donald Talovich thanks for watching! Hope it’s helpful.
Or can we get bags of bolts washer and nuts that fit in the parts dept? or in outbound? great info guyz! keep it up
are the pins available rather than using a nut and bolt?
Good video good information how to fix the manual one thanks
Great to hear you found it helpful! Let us know if you have other ideas for videos.
I had manual pins links bends

Where are spare pins located? On the trailer somewhere?
5/16, 1/4 , 3/8, 7/16th----length.... i get to do this tonight-. 3 year old trailer. yesterday good, today....not so much.
Simple quick fix but I believe compensation should be given for fixing someone else’s equipment
39simpleman we do compensate for some of the fixes actually. Call your Road Assist Advisor to request a list of fixes and pay!
Curious about the sliding. How does the tandem slide? Is there ROLLERS or just friction? If friction, do you have to grease? How?
Our rails have Teflon pads, so any type of grease will actually hold road debris and cause them to get sticky, the only thing we suggest to put on the slider rails is soapy water if it seems sticky and doesn’t want to slide correctly. Thanks for watching our video!
@@PRIMEINCTRUCKING thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated.
Do the tandem pins have to be in or out before doing this repair ?
The repair would be possible if released (or out) only.
I use chicken wire & some wire cutters then some wire pliers to twist em
More information how the system works from A-Z please.
Feel free to message Road Assist on your Prime Mobile App for additional information. Thanks for watching!
What if the pins do not come back out on one side?
He did not show or tell about the nut/screw, size, length etc

How to take out tandem pins
I need the hose anyone knows name part?
What size bolts do you need
I want to say it’s a 2 inch long 7/16ths bolt.
Pay me $110.00 with a 2 hour minimum like a shop.
I'm paid to drive not wrench.
Thanks for watching our video!
But how you replace the pin, that's the big issue
Take it to the shop. Don’t we get paid to drive. We don’t get paid to be a mechanic
