What is so wrong about man made fried rice that you need to invest time and money into inventing a machine to do that. All proper chefs always taste test what they cook. That machine didn’t and can’t do that.

Japan's population has been steadily declining for decades. This has had a pronounced effect on the country's economy, which has been largely stagnant since the mid 1980s. Due to the insufficient workforce numbers, there are now more jobs than available people to fill them. It is difficult to grow the economy when companies do not have people to employ or the corresponding capacity to foster industry innovations. In terms of economic influence in East Asia, Japan has been largely eclipsed by South Korea and China. According to the latest demographics reports, there are over 3 million non-Japanese residing in Japan, which represents a 50% increase from the preceding decade. Japan's immigration numbers are projected to continue increasing, but the workforce deficiency may take decades to offset. While automation systems do reduce the number of workers a business needs to employ, it is a practical necessity for Japanese society.

@@eatlikealocal Nonsense. If you have to cite population drop as a reason, I can also say population drop also means much fewer customers to render the investment and installation of such machinery disproportional to any possible return of investment. In what way is buying, installing, and maintaining that thing cheaper than hiring a foreign labor for example. Making fried rice isn’t rocket science and there are loads of Chinese “students” working in Japan’s service sectors already. You reckon a few of them might actually know a thing or two about making fried rice. These ain’t white collar jobs we are talking about here. Do you know why the US allows Mexican laborers and why Hong Kong allows Mainland Chinese for blue collar jobs? Because it does need ages for them to fill up shortages of service sector roles as opposed to what you said for Japan.
