I wouldn’t mind a Collab effort with Stan Kordonskiy (Endless Winter/Rurik/Resurgence) + (Shem Phillips / SJ MacDonald) [Architects of the West Kingdom]
Getting a bit worried. Stan Kordonskiy is probably a good designer but this looks a bit like Endless Winter in way of throwing everything and the kitchen sink into the game (scoring cards, area control, etc.). I think Endless Winter is merely OK, but not as great as I hoped when I backed the game.
I like publishers who have prototypes, even better when the prototype looks like a final product, and even better yet when there are rulebooks and they get the product into content creators hands to play and preview/review. I like that it's a bit meaner at two, that sounds fun.
It was interesting that you mentioned CoB as another game option because I was thinking Nova Roma reminded me of a Feld type of design as I listened to you describe it. Definitely checking it out👍
This game gives me Trajan vibes where the Rondel is swapped out for the grid. I'm interested in it because it sounds like it may fit in as a solid two player focused euro.
That isn't a rondel in Trajan, but a mancala system. In that way it more looks like Crusaders: Thy will be done, because the actions become stronger on the way your are planning it. And that game has a combination of a rondel and a mancala system.
I like Stan's stuff, but I don't know that OI love how mathy this looks like it might be. It also seems like it's got that "mini-games within a game" feel that I don't personally love. I'll need to see a play through before making a decisions. I'm also maybe the only gamer in the modern sphere that doesn't love the Mico's art.
Thanks for the review. Do you think this game will get into your all-time top board game list? It looks like a great game, but I can’t decide whether it looks a bit dry and whether the fun will last multiple plays
Hmm. Seems like so many bunch of mechanics going on. A bit of racing track, a bit of shipping track, area control, some kind of targi like grid action selection..
The board seems very noisy to me. It reminds me of older-style games that are not so modern. I'm sure the mechanisms will mesh very well; the designer's name leaves no doubt, but my eye tells me otherwise.

But what artist would they get? :P
@@ScytheNoire - starts (salivating)…..Vincent Dutrait? Or actually….I am a big fan of the artist from Ashes: Phoenixborn “Fernanda Suarez”

Stan gets an instant back from me for sure. His last release was so good!!
He's fantastic!

It very much feels like a feld
I'm calling that action selection mechanism the "Reverse Targi"
lol cute

It's definitely a back from me. Endless Winter but in a budding Constantinople. Let's go.
Very intriguing action selection!
Can't really justify backing it thought whilst owning Endless Winter. Sigh.
I can respect that, they have some small overlap in feel while being totally different.

You are not alone lol...I like Mico's art pretty well, but all his games are starting to look the same

Nope, top 200 very possibly, top 100 less likely
Great video! Do you know when the campaign is suppose to start?
The morning of April 6th.
According to ShelfClutter it goes live today (April 4th)
@@dakotawarner4108 On an update that came out today on the KS page for Resurgence, their last game, it says April 6th 10am CST.
Oh ok! Good to know. Thanks!
Art by Mico ? Check!! Great Board Game Designer? DOUBLE CHECK. Hard not to back a game by Stan. I have loved a few of his games including Rurik.

Ty for this video!
Death Match: Nova Roma vs. Resurgence?
For me Nova Roma but both very close.
Do you recommend Crusaders?
