Alex, I absolutely love your "Walk around the studio" videos just to put it out there. It's a great bonding experience for you fans. "Hey look I have that game too! See he still has Sorcerer in shrink like me! I told you storing games in the laundry room was viable!!" :) Cheers, also excited to see Mistborn on the table!!
Tamashii is so great! I would consider it campaign adjacent. Once you finish the tutorial, you can play additional scenarios as one-offs in any order. No carry over between scenarios. But some have alternate endings, and all of them flesh out the world and overall story a bit more. It’s a really cool way to do it. And the game play is fantastic! Very fun. (Caveat: I am biased, I love cyberpunk and AR.)
@philthephreak I really enjoyed the tutorial, but I was getting bombarded by AR games at that time, receiving that, ISS Vanguard, Etherfields, and Castles of Burgundy all within the same week. I really need to pull it out again since, as much as I adore campaign games, it makes me super happy that Tamashii is one that gives you that feel without the massive time investment.
Great video, thank you. Oathsworn was a phenomenal campaign and I loved every second of it but I chose to sell it on because I just couldn't see myself going back through it again with so many other games demanding my attention. I'm midway through ISS Vanguard and am determined to finish it. I'm just finishing painting Tanares so that's waiting. Arydia is going to be awesome, cant wait for that to arrive. KD:M is the campaign game for me that will stay in my collection no matter how long the time between plays. Reminder: Go and pickt Assassins Creed up off the floor.
How can you have time to play so many campaign games? I have Agemonia and last time I played was in August. And the next time I get to it might be around Christmas time :D
Debating on whether I should get rid of my Tanares Adventures Ultimate Edition Box NIS, which will likely never get played, and get the more accessible Expeditions, which may get played 😅
Love a good purge. But where is To Back or Not To Back? So many good campaigns have started since the last video and a few are even ending soon. Would love to see your take on them.
I heard that Agemonia is very close to playing a TRPG without a GM. With the coming Lands of Evershade, would you think one of them will be fully replaced by the other?
Im extremely selective of full campaign games, with Gloomhaven and Oathsworn being the only 2 i own (made grab lands of Evershade). I'm not counting Primal as I'll only play that as one-shot fights. STALKER and Bloodborne TBG do it well though, with short manageable campaigns. I hope we see more of these. It's just hard for me to want tonget the same game to the table that often, as i really enjoy variety.
I can't resist giving you a mild, vague spoiler about Oathsworn. At the end of the long, long campaign, you must choose between two alternatives. One leads to horrifying ending. The other leads to a very horrifying ending. Good luck! -toby
Re: the video you made without sound : in a few years, you will be able to use AI to recover the sound from lipreading plus tiny vibrations that can be sensed from the video. Don't throw it away! -Toby
Tamashii I would not call a campaign game. Nothing carries over between games. You unlock cards for you game forever and can replay scenarios as much as you want as they all start the character from scratch.
We're seven chapters in and love the variety so far! My wife likes it more than Gloomhaven: JotL (because one feels more powerful early on), I maybe slightly less (I love the core card selection in Gloomhaven; and the setup time is somewhat longer than JotL, mostly because the enemies don't come in bags), but if the variety continues as it has been so far, it might be on par for me.
Monster Hunter is less a campaign game and more a boss battler. The campaign aspect is pretty boring to be honest. We just skip the explore phase and set up the monster, then gather rewards and craft armor/weapons afterwards to use the next time we fight. Streamlines the whole experience
Question, how do you get past the materials that only are available via exploration? To be honest, the exploration takes longer than I want but the rewards are essential to gear
@ I just house ruled that you can trade 3 of any other material for 1 of a different material. You can do that already by spending a day in town, I just expanded the amount of items you can convert
@cerealkilla187 Honestly that makes a lot of sense. Never considered that since my table was just complaining yesterday about having these excess materials we will never use. Thanks for the idea, I am going to present it next week to see how they feel about it
I love how Alex is culling games that the common man hasn’t even received yet
And probably ranked 5 out of 5s during the Kickstarter hype too
Not sure love is the right word for me but it's certainly notable
Really? Which ones? Would love to know.
All these games are delivered…
Legend has it that Assassin's Creed is still on the floor to this day.
lol it is
@@BoardGameCodon’t forget about me for Assassins Creed.

I saw Isofarian Guard (near Assassins Creed I think) that is a campaign game also :)
Yes! Good call! Staying!
I love those videos when you go through the shelves in your room!
Good to know :)
Wait, is Tamashi a campaign game? I have only had time to play the intro scenario so far, but I thought it wasn't campaign, it was just scenarios.

Great video, I would like to see the same video speaking about one shot games as I lean toward them more than the campaign ones.
yes, been looking forward to this one, as well as part two next week

you haven't played Windmill Valley? (it's still in shrink) please do, it's awesome!
Will you be covering Shadow Moon Syndicate before the campaign ends? It looks really interesting and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
How can you have time to play so many campaign games? I have Agemonia and last time I played was in August. And the next time I get to it might be around Christmas time :D
Reminder... Get Assassin's Creed of the concrete floor if you forgot about it. 😅

Do you own Vagrantsong or did you purge it at some point?
Love a good purge. But where is To Back or Not To Back? So many good campaigns have started since the last video and a few are even ending soon. Would love to see your take on them.
Darn, having just sold Stalker unplayed I was hoping you would make me feel better about my decision and say you were culling it too!
Where do you offload your games? I'm asking for a friend. heard good things about ISS. Just curious.
I heard that Agemonia is very close to playing a TRPG without a GM. With the coming Lands of Evershade, would you think one of them will be fully replaced by the other?
I barely get normal games played. Thinking about playing through a campaign is absurd.
Im extremely selective of full campaign games, with Gloomhaven and Oathsworn being the only 2 i own (made grab lands of Evershade).

Are you selling the games you aren't keeping or are they being given away on patreon?

lol thanks :)
Now I’m curious, will you get rid of Earth Under Siege: Flashpoint or did forget about that one, Alex? 😆
Re: the video you made without sound : in a few years, you will be able to use AI to recover the sound from lipreading plus tiny vibrations that can be sensed from the video. Don't throw it away! -Toby
Lol, It's gone by now.
You have a mistborn game on the table?? Any good?? Whats the game name?? Any review??
Review will be coming :)
Primal above Gloomhaven? Cool.

Finished STALKER looking forward to next shipment great game
Arydia ? 😮
Please respect Galactus. He deserves better space.🤣
Tidal blades 2?

Dude, you speak so fast that if I didn’t know you said ’Monster Hunter: World” I would still be guessing!
did I see story of many beside assasins creed?
Yes! But that's a prototype :)
Hello bro, what is your main job? Your board game is so much 😯😯
@@zackbob6 correct
@@zackbob6 cmo but yeah + paid reviews
Yeah I just had to let Tanares go… good game and I enjoyed all my plays but campaigns are demanding.
0:25 - Poor Alex is NOT ready for that ending.

Did you mentined Grimcoven just because you dont think it will get played? Because it's not a campaign.🙂
Lol you're completely right.
Marvel Champions? Please say it ain’t so…
Marvel Champions is safe, 100% safe. For now.
