And I like this push your luck idea addedd to combat system. But this cleanning arena after combat, after rounds sounds great too. It remind me a little Kemet, where we also erase our unit to not become a easy target to our oponents.

It looks like a very, very beauiful, railroad quest system. Does it realy give you a choice that matters? Big chance you will know what to choose the second run
I wonder where this fits in your lineup of best area control games and if it beats out blood rage or DEI. One of my main issues with blood rage is the balance. How balanced did you feel this was? Also just a heads up but the timestamps are missing.

Absolutely not. I'm into euro games. I have a bad tendency to win in strategy games, which I don't care for, and losing brings out the worst in good people.

DEI, Cyclades, Avalon, Blood Rage....I think. But honestly it's so hard. And blood rage I've played the most which has over time lowered it a bit for me.
The game looks beautiful but it is too long and will end up on the shelf of shame until it is sold. I'll stick with Blood Rage, Rising sun and Ankh which are simple and finish quickly with our play group. The point related to monsters is also a let down. Say no to FOMO

Blood Rage is best in class for these types of games so it’s a great comparison if true
It reminds me of wonderlands war with blackjack instead of bag building. Very intrigued as i love wonderlands war.

I hear that, but based on most games I own, i doubt it.

I know this is a hard question but what are your thoughts so far if you had to rank Avalon, Blood Rage, Cyclades, and DEI?

2 player worked great! I was surprised at how good it was.
Thats promising! Jaime did post on BGG that they put a lot of work into the 2 player experience, so I'm happy that early feedback supports that!
