    Very insightful and interesting video. I normally have a hard time sitting through in depth explanations like this, but you have a way of explaining that kept my attention. I can also tell from your voice how excited you are by your own game which is fun to see!

    Awesome video, Jamie. Now I'm seriously looking forward to December 2025!
    On a side note, wouldn't it be better to flip the writings on the exploration tiles, so that they're not from the center perspective but rather from an outer viewer?

      This has been answered in the KS comments. They have tried that but this way make the furthest tiles face you, making them easier to read.

      The reason for the writing being center focused is due to perspective. If you’re sitting by the north side of the board, sure you can easily see the writing if it’s outer focused and your army is on the north side, but now let’s say you have an army in the south side fighting. You would need to walk around the table to see the writing whereas if it’s center facing you can see the writing from your seat although small. If the text next to you is upside down that’s fine because it’s close to You and easy to see.

    Helpful... but whilst your card play was effective, Mordred would have gone first if he played a 3 card. Your example ignored that and if there was a chance for both prophecies to be won then stopping that must be a consideration. Of course the struggle we have from looking in from afar is how much can the other players work out what you might do. As I say it is helpful but only playing 3 cards per round means each play is critical - so there must be a fair chance of the game running very slowly as each player has to go through the decision process you went through. If someone then takes your expected place in the round you may then have to go through the whole process again, thus slowing the game up some more. The decisions as to which cards to use are very Mage Knight like (which I like) but here, with a competitive game where the order may be fought over, the possibility of slow play is ratcheted up.

      Hi Dave, So Mordred's turn was considered in this example because regardless of whether he completed both prophecies we also wanted to complete both. Our best chance to get there first was by playing a 3 (which we did in those example). The fact we want to complete prophecies regardless of getting 1st or 2nd also impacts player decision time as that choice is not something that is invalidate by other taking their turn in nearly all cases. Efficiency maybe lost if you go slower then another player but ultimately that is the benefit of playing the initiative system well and playing the tie break game. Hope that helps.
