Sooooo....I got from this review that its really cool. Thanks for the review, wish you would make a gameplay video. The one that DiceTower did was rough to watch. Curious how similar you think this is to Bloodrage and Rising Sun.
I actually purposefully didn't mention Blood Rage :D There certainly are some similarities, but between the faction powers, combat, etc, it feels fairly different.
I've got Mordred by CMON coming - Arthurian theme, area-control too. At a time when I'm looking for excuses NOT to back a big production KS in a favourite genre because I'm trying to be sensible, for this reason I'll pass.
Very trustable review, far as I can see. For a good bit of the video you seem almost bored with the game, or unhappy about it. Makes sense, as you were discussing some aspects you think could be improved. But then you light up as you turn back toward your overall view. It wasn't a review made with the idea of skipping over any imperfections and making yourself look like the best friend of the game designer. Nor were you pessimistic and overly critical. I like it. Good content here.
I appreciate it! I think it's important to be nuanced but not pedantic, and to express negatives or positives without having it get in the way of overall feelings for a game. I'm glad that came across well this time. :)
@@hunkalloc two options. Freezing the mini would likely allow you to easily remove those parts. The other option is masking tape or covering it in putty. A third option is painting those parts too
There's some products you can get these days that coat those parts, then when it's solidified you can easily peel it off. I've seen them, but haven't used them myself.
Good coverage. Unfortunately I don't have a group to play games like this with. On another note are you still reaching out to winners of the giveaways? Its been a few months and I still haven't heard anything so I just want to make sure I didn't miss an email. Thanks.
Ah bummer yeah that's required :) And yes sorry it's just been as I've been able to get to them. I have a 3 day weekend coming up and should get through some more soon! So sorry for the wait!
@@TheKingofAverage No need to apologize, you have had a lot going on and more important things to prioritize. I just hope you and your family are doing well.
@@TheKingofAverage They don't deliver to my country (Serbia). Which is extremely weird for me, cause they are the only ones. For Oathworn I had to jump through some hoops to get it, but now there are so many greate projects, that I just don't think I'm gonna do that again for this one
It's a Megan Medium from GeekNSon so you'll need to look up the well dimensions, but it's a smaller table for the kinds of games I play. At least half of the games I own won't fit fully in the well if not more.
Didnt like the art and the colors. Didnt like the push your luck mechanic. In a coop game it is ok, but in a strategy game, no ty. The board with the minis on it gets too crowded.

Lol! The next one will be so close it'll be up my nose 😄 I've tried a few formats for my reviews including zoomed in b roll footage and still haven't settled in one I like, that I can produce efficiently. As it stands, these videos take up more time than all the rest from reading rules, coordinating with the devs, playing games, gathering thoughts and organizing and then filming.
I haven't watched the whole video yet, and I wouldn't say it the way the OP did, but this is where B roll close ups would come in handy (bearing in mind I haven't seen the whole video yet).
It's pretty rare for me to waste time playing a game I don't like and then making a video telling you I don't like it. Inherent in the system of practicality for reviews, if I post one usually I like it. Do I like all of it? No. Do I like it overall? Yes. I can't fathom why I'd pick games I don't think I'll like to play a bunch, hate my time with it and tell you guys I hated it. Just a weird thing to want to do. :)
negative? I’ve never seen one. If it’s a big box miniature game he’s sold on it. If it’s a paid review from a prototype he’s sold on it. This channels become like all the rest. Paid to promote positively.
@warpaint9385 never been paid. My Wild Assent and Dawn of Madness prototype reviews are the most famous of "overall negative" but no game is all bad or all good and I include pros and cons in all of my reviews. But feel free to invite the facts and believe what you wish to believe :)
@@TheKingofAverage well you’re getting a free game as payment then. From my observation out of all these gaming channels they nearly always promote in a positive way as they’re technically employees of the company for the duration of the reviews. So it’s always “ great game, love it”. Rahdo, boardgameco, Man v meeple etc etc. The usual suspects that show up on every kickstarter/gamefound campaign.
Best review of this I've seen so far. Took me three attempts to watch it, but worth it, thank you
I am happy it was useful for you!
Convinced! I'm backing this (and you, btw - just became a Knight of Alright on your Patreon)!
Welcome! I'm really glad to hear you found the review valuable. I try to balance nuance with big picture so hopefully that came across well. :)
@TheKingofAverage it did, thanks again 👍
Thank you! This review is perfect timing. I had so much fun with Oathsworn, I gotta back this.
Appreciate the honest review!
Always happy to share my thoughts and I hope they are helpful :)
The logic doesn't make sense. This is nothing like oatsworn
Someone in JJ’s inner circle needs to tell him to fix the card size. Companies using these awful sizes is awful to use normal sleeves.
Normal meaning poker/playing card sized?

thanks, king
since you are a King too you should also be in this game like the other one
Long live the King
Hah! If only :D
I only play super chunky serious!! Game looks cool! I'm on the fence. I have too many games, and not enough time and people to play with.
just in time for the start. awesome!
That's the idea! I wanted to talk about the other factions so needed to wait until the campaign launched :)
What size is that board :0 i just got my boardgame table and want be happy if that doesnt fit in XD

I play tested it. It is fine, but I'm passing on the KS. Largely just because those types of games don't get played much around here.
Ugh yeah I hate when that happens
So basically the simplified factions are what they did in Oathsworn were they had the simplified characters.
Yeah in a way! That often still has you play your own character at full, but a bit like that
As a Painter are the "non grey parts" (how ever they call them) removable? Or any other advice how you would secure them from paint?

How does it play with 2?

Blood Rage
Kemet

Yucatan
Risk
Lords of Ragnarok
