I had my phone connected to a Bluetooth speaker, dropped my phone and lost it in the couch and listened to this video on a loop for 5 minutes trying to find my phone
where did you order the mod from? Was thinking of getting an arcade stck but I have learned I am ass with the actual joystick and I have played PC games all my life so I think keyboard would be nice for me.
The company specifically says it's pronounced the way Bob pronounces it here, but there's kind of a wink and smile along with it -- Nintendo is intensely litigious when it comes to protecting their IP, and 8bitDo doesn't want to make themselves vulnerable to lawsuits by trying to rhyme with Nintendo while producing products that look like Nintendo products.
heads up: they changed the pin spacing and layout for the joystick connector. It's no longer a simple case of jamming a 5 pin sanwa cable in there to install your sanwa stick :( Have to make a custom harness now.
The new Xbox stick looks sick I'm contemplating getting the 8bitdo for Switch/PC and just getting SF6 on Steam, or getting a fight stick for PS5/PC to play SF6 on PS5. I guess I need to figure out how SF6 runs on Steam Deck, since that's my PC.
I believe you can get an adapter for the original 8bitdo stick that will allow it to work on PS5. Or you can opt for a wired stick from Mayflash that is universal. I personally have the Mayflash F500 Elite (which is the same price as this 8bitdo but not wireless) and I love it. It works on all platforms, albeit with a little setup involved, and comes with all Sanwa parts.
@SomeRyeBread from what I have found, even with adapters, the 8bitdo unfortunately doesn't work for PS5 games. I have looked into the Mayflash fight stick, that seems pretty good.
SF6 runs perfect on Steam Deck. Matches are a solid 60fps with a lot of high settings though World Tour mode you'll be around 30-40 fps with lower settings
These new ones have no Bluetooth, despite costing like $30 more 🤔 Unless you really love the Xbox branding, or really want the headphone jack (a somewhat more valid reason, IMO) I don't see why anyone wouldn't go with the 8bitdo Switch arcade stick instead. I have one, swapped in Seimitsu buttons and a bat top, and I love it.
@@PRuDislav oh for sure, and I use the 2.4 by far the most, but it's nice to have another option too. My main use is on my Steam Deck, which only has a USB-C port unelss I have it docked. So the options would be the 2.4 dongle plugged into a USB to USB-C adapter plugged into the Deck, or just use Bluetooth. There are plenty of games I play with the stick where minor latency isn't an issue. Just a bummer that the newer, more expensive version has less features, IMO.
@@ayobmedz yeah i will probably just tget the standard switch/pc one too in the end... to use with my android/linux based retro handhelds .... but the white xbox version quite spoke to me visually
The buttons for moving ARE SO GOOD for fight games, you cant believe how annoying it is to accidentally jump when trying to make a special move mid fight
This is awesome and I'm really glad it works on Xbox now, but aren't most standard tournament fighting game setups played on Playstation? Its great for anyone with fighting games on an Xbox or playing other old arcade style games like shmups and the like, but it's kind of a shame that anyone who really likes this controller and wants to go down to a local tournament/offline event is still going to need to buy a 3rd party adapter to be able to play offline with it
xbox = pc (xinput) also i believe all of them support pc regardless i think the quanba pearl is a better choice but 8bitdo makes nice stuff too i have a few of their controllers
I bought the 8bitdo arcade stick for the Nintendo Switch and I’m having a problem with the controls on one game so far. The game is Shinobi from Arcade Archives. There’s an input that you can do that makes you crouch down and move slow while still crouching. On the Switch controls it’s a diagonal input… 5 o clock position. Now on the 8bitdo arcade stick it won’t allow me to move in the crouch position…. It’s either duck down while stationary or move forward. Is there a know issue with the 8bitdo arcade stick that it can’t do diagonal inputs? Also is there anyway to fix this issue like with a new joystick or something?
It would have been a lot preferable if their original one did actually have a toggle to switch to an xbox controller. Cause they do have LEDs to change what buttons they are. But I guess it was some weird liscencing issue
No no I can't buy any more arcade sticks. I got the Neo Geo Pro Stick, the Hori SF 6 stick, the Mayfair 500 Elite, and the Dobe mini stick. And now I want a Hit box and possibly this. Why did I see this?
I imagine with this being Xinput there will be even better compatibility with different devices like PC, Mister fpga, and Raspberry Pi - without as much finagling.
I wanted the 8bitdo nintendo one but decided spending the money on a brook wireless board and installing it into a stick I already owned would be better. It would give me wireless switch performance. This however allows for wireless play on Xbox??? Okay, suddenly I want this stick again.
This is getting really annoying It would be nice if they could just release one controller that does everything including PlayStation which none of their stuff seems to do.

Can I pair two of them in my Xbox? You know, like "arcade battle" in home.
They had to pay Xbox for the licensing so they charged a premium for it. Xbox charges an arm and a leg for other companies to make wireless accessories. Because of their proprietary wireless tech/corporate greed.

Sf6 online works flawlessly on Steam Deck. However, offline it stutters literally unplayable.
The 8bitdo arcade stick has been in my wishlist for a year for my switch & psx ✨️💯
I actually ordered it for my PC. Would love to use it in SF6 🔥🔥🔥

Xinput IS the xbox protocol, that is additionally supported on PC.

It's wireless?? I'm afraid of delayed input... Looks nice tho for casual gameplay.
The website says it can be used as a wired USB-C. Not sure if that improves input, though.
