Brad the sax player was a couple of years ahead of me at North Texas. He was playing a jazz recital once and just killing it. However, he was playing the solo with his eyes closed of course. At the same time he was rocking back and forth on his feet and slowly pivoting counter clockwise. So after jamming for about 5 minutes his back was to the audience. When he opened his eyes he was in shock facing the wrong way. Everyone clapped and laughed so hard the rhythm section could hardly keep it together. We were in the same dorm (Bruce Hall) and he used to cut hair of other students. It's so great seeing him have such a great career!
What a wonderful story.
Nice! I have attended the Jamey Aebersold jazz music camps in Louisville and I think he was there teaching.........North Texas really produces awesome players!
Please keep showing the backstage tours! Have a great gig tonight!!!
Wow, thank you for another tour of one of the venues on the Lovett tour. It's great that you're playing at all of these open air venues out in the wild, wild west. All the best to you at your gigs and in-between them. Take care and stay safe. 👍
Thank you Leland, made my day!
Tour is great but my favorite part is Leland saying "thank you for all the wonderful food" to the lady behind the trays of it. You can tell exactly the heart and kindness this man has right there. Man I'd give anything to jam and hang out with this man just for a few hours.
The world could be a better place if everyone treated everyone else like the important SOMEONE we all are.
Trying a little more kindness and showing appreciation goes a long, long way.
Luv it thanku!
Thanks for another virtual! Really enjoying them.
Leland- Please do the same thing for your upcoming Red Rocks Show. I'll be there looking for you!
Wow! What a privilege to see backstage of your tour! Freaking so cool!!! Thanks so much! Stay safe!! ❤️🇨🇦✌️
Amazing to see the people and stuff for each performance! The logistics..... wow. Thank you again for the behind the scenes tour.
l think it would be cool to be a famous musician but still able to go out in public and not have people mauling you
Thanks for the backstage pass Lee. Love you, man.
Again...wonderful tour.......Love the behind the scenes!!!!! Thanks Lee!!!!
Quite a nice tour.
The video has really excellent quality on a nice bright day like this.
For some reason I never thought of bamboo when I thought of Oregon...but that's changed.
Interesting. Bamboo there too?🙂
Grows crazy wild in Virginia.
Love the tours behind the scenes!
This is starting to remind me of the movie 'If its Tuesday it must be Belgium '.
Good evening Leland and everybody.
Thanks for the tour Leland.
I love the sneak peaks.
Good morning Ann, 😊☀️
Mr. L.S. - What a nice video you made today (again)!
Great video.
You are such a nice and gentle man! Wishing you the very best! Thank you for the behind of scenes experience.
Great place! Have a good one. 👍
Felt like I was part of the road crew! Amazing- thanks for the tour!!!
It's a backstage pass brought to us by Leland! Thanks Lee 👍
Yaaaaaaaaay!!!👍👍
Don't know what the temp is there but it LOOKS like it's under 100 so very cooling and refreshing to watch as well!
😎🌊
Thank you for the back stage tour. 🕊💙🙏🌎
Beautiful settings to play in…nice work if you can get it, and thankfully you can. Hope it continues to be enjoyable. Thank you for these tours. Stay safe🖕
Looks like a fantastic place to play!
Another beautiful venue! Thank you for the tour, Lee :-)
Thank you for the tour and seeing all the preperation that goes on before hand and the many hands that contribute to making it all happen.
Makes my memory of when a flatbed truck, gasoline generator, a few Fender amps, and drum kit could bring joy and music; it was literally a last century memory.
When viewing that Peterbilt tractor near the end, it brought back memories when I was a front end mechanic on those kind of heavy vehicles. Wheels needed a 1 inch air impact wrench for removal.
Another beautiful venue. You’ve certainly been blessed with perfect weather on the tour thus far.
😎👍❤🖖
Love Brother
Boy Lee you guys have had the Nicest Venues. Blissful!!!!!
Very cool. Thanks.
I loved your tour of Edgefield! backstage! I live 5 miles from there! I am so very sorry I missed hearing and seeing you!!
You guys are playing in some very idyllic venues. Have a good one. See you tomorrow, I hope?
So cool seeing the venues like this. That's one thing always missing from live concert videos, i love seeing venues beforehand when they are empty, and bands during soundcheck, that's the fun stuff!
Loved the tour! Thanks for showing us around behind the scenes. Have a great evening, Leland!
What a great tour of the off limits area to the regular rabble! Have always loved how you play and all the great musicians you’ve worked with over the years. Rock & Roll, baby!
Well, It certainly takes a village! Very nice venue.
Thanks for the behind the scenes tour. Best of luck with tonight's concert.
Another great episode of On The Road With Leland, love seeing what goes on behind the scenes.
Looks beautiful there...
Looking forward to seeing you and both bands tonight.
My sons and I will be out there. You probably won't see us...
Stay cool, stay hydrated!
Much Love!

Wow that is great. For the entire 10:25 l actually felt normal and I was outside walking around. What an amazing setup and a beautiful place. Thank you brother 👍🙏
I agree. I realized watching this that I live in a virtual world now.
@@jeffwalther I have my days where I find it super difficult but moments like these Jeff seem to be able to take us away and help us to feel a part of it all. Take care brother and as we say keep on keeping on.
Same. Took me back to hunting arrowheads and beads and going to check on the bees and the minnow tank.
Hi Steve
@@Stevemartian4321 Hey Viktor how are you?
Damn..you guys got some good grub..Thanks for the tour
love these backstage tours, please keep em coming
Thanks Leland, for taking the time for the sneek peek!
Thanks for the all access walkabout. Very nice. The weather looks good. Have a great show tonight.
wish you a nice gig
Great stuff. These behind the scenes tours just keep getting better. I was hoping you'd introduce the front of house guys, but I guess they looked kind of busy.
Now watch, someone will block it for whatever song Brad Leali was warming up with.
Will get there.
Everything is under control.Have you noticed that backstage where the engine room is? People who know what's what and are on it . Nice relaxed and chilled Summer vibe going on .Really like it!
Love these tours.
Like a miniature city. Lelandville.
What a glorious June afternoon on Portland.
Lee I think you missed Big Bird's nest by the pool tables!!!!!!
So cool!
Fantastic Lee! Looks a lot cooler up there than here in Southern California right now!
Two big Volvo Trucks. That´s Swedish heavy metal i so many ways. Just kidding. Nice tour of the place as allways. Have a good day, sir!
Man, seeing the backstage and all the people involved was a real treat. You really captured the pre-show ambience! I'll take all of this I can get!
I spotted the backstage pool table. I'm amazed how many crew it takes to put together a show. Thanks again Lee.
Thanks for taking us along!
Lee, I reallyam enjoying the tour videos!!! Please keep 'em coming. Thanks!
I miss the dogs. I bet they miss me too
🥰
It's a great view looking out over the chairs and lawn from the stage, I would, just once like to be there with the band! Have fun.
Thanks for the peek into your world. What a great way to allow us to escape for a few minutes. Many thanks.
Thank You for inside view. It makes me calm. The other side of great America.
I really appreciate these videos every morning ^^.
Been so long since my last gig, even the last one I just watched.
Beautiful grounds Lee. Enjoy, and have a GREAT show!!!
That was fantastic! love all the backline, backstage and bus shots… the life must of didn’t get to in our playing career! Please keep the coming. You’re the best!
TOO cool - thanks for sharing!
TroutDale nice place one of my favorite rides soon as you come out of there about 10 mi headed to the east and you start running along the Columbia River for about a good 60 miles to Biggs junction very very scenic and neat.
😎
Thanks for the tour.........................
Luvin' the walk thru's Lee, Cheers.
That’s what I call a backstage area 👌🏼
Have a good show Lee
Love these tours! I’m such a groupie!😜
Your job not too shabby ! What a wonderful venue.
A lot of 'invisible infrastructure' made visible by Lee. Like a lot of 'things', we sometimes forget the effort and people involved that makes 'things' happen ..
As beautiful as Santa Barbara is, a venue like this hits a sweet spot for me. Thank you.
😍 😍 Beautiful! Love It!
Hey! Nice venue.
Oregon I travel to Silverton and the areas many times family and friends
Brad….🎭
LOVE the behind the scenes tours!
Feeling like a groupie! Btw love Lamont's Monterey Jazz shirt.
love these walkarounds,sir...thank you
I love these tours! Thanks for the effort, Lee.
Really cool!! Thanks Leland!!
Thank you so much for taking us to all the venues for your show Lee. Being from Scotland I don’t know any of the places you visit. I’m looking forward to the tour of Red Rocks when you get there. 😍
Red Rocks is fantastic. Saw the Grateful Dead there in 1985.
But how many people over here got to see Hot Chocolate at the Odeon in Edinburgh? And would these audiences be liable to shout out their opinions of Lyle Lovett's sexiness? Or to do so in Scottish English??????
@@SoundsFair--M-and-J I saw many acts at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh and the Apollo in Glasgow when it was still standing.
@@Ian-Steele 👍
It’s amazing what you do, but man the job the crew does in such a short time and make it work is something. What was your worst experience ever? Stay safe , healthy , and Russ hi!lol
The Edgefield is such a fantastic venue.
"You know you've made it when your name is on your strap." So funny.
This tickled me as well. 😁
Lamont!!!!!!!! You can not have a venue tour and not have Lamont show up in it!!!!!!!
Wasn't he in it yesterday?
Beam me up Scotty!
Not yet
❤
Nice tour of this part of the tour!
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 🌴 📸
Hey Lee
How about more nerdy and closeups off the lighting monitor and mixing consoles. 😎
Will do..
Happy gigging! 😀
Stephen Stills sells catalog to Irving Azoff.
Yep!
I do find it worrisome that so much music will be owned by non-artists and who are more bean counters than musicians or artists.
Bet alot of musicians have
WOW ! 8 Figures?
@@jackwezesa1081 What was the magic number?
Yay, 🥰😍outside exploring with Leland❣️❤️ This one reminds me a lot of roaming around my mom's parents place, 🐢 a lot of little interesting spots to hang out. Peace & love, Russ, and Lamont, and Brad,😊
I can imagine the bluff side of the quarry making a great stage. My cousin has it now though. Giving me some ideas... 💡
Thank you Lee 👍🏻
