I'm loving these behind the scenes videos! The venue tours are amazing and lets us in on on the backstage stuff. But I love this day off tour too. A great look at a quiet city on a pleasant day. Thanks for letting us travel with you Lee!
Walla Walla is known for its 🌰 onions! The Pacific NW is quite diverse, Seattle rains, Spokane, four distict seasons and SW WA flat and desert! I so wanted to zip down the 3 hours from Spokane and see you all! My schedule is just to tight and didn't realize how close the tour was until the other day. Where's my motorcycle when I need it! Blessings Lee! Have a great show!
Not the most exciting place to visit, it appears. Looks like one of the many hotels just off the interstate, where there’s not much around or within walking distance anyway. “City Center” wasn’t actually the best name for that motel Lee passed on his walk around the block.
Not the most exciting place I agree, but a glimpse of ‘real life’ as opposed to movies which are fictional and perhaps all most people get chance to see of American life.👍🇬🇧🌞🖖👍
Days off are good!!! While gigging is good, the days are long, the nights are short, (particularly on the crew side), and schedules are tight and routine for the most part. If one can enjoy a day off that isn't a travel day, it is usually pretty welcome! Hope you all enjoyed your day! Carry on!
Hey Leland. I loved the video today. I live in Australia in the City of Bendigo. Your video today showed what the 'real USA' is like. It could have been here in Bendigo, but the traffic drives on the opposite side of the road. I was able to check on Google Maps where you were, when I was watching the video. Take care, enjoy the tour. Thanks for sharing and caring.
You are so personable, and I have loved getting to know you…sort of (?) in the videos! Having followed you for years, I’m enjoying the tour videos & seeing you hanging with your band mates & just being real.
Fascinating to see the reality of touring life, 2 hours on stage and 22 hours of this sort of stuff, over and over, Le you are getting paid well I hope,
Maybe you should get some of these businesses to sponsor your video essays. Something like, "Today's video is brought to you by Wiley Headstones. Wiley Headstones ... for all your head stone and stone head needs."
Mr. Sklar…. For the record, I rarely, rarely comment on youtube. This is maybe my third comment of all time. You see, I live in Walla Walla but missed your show, sadly. In any case, your walkabout so clearly illustrates what I have felt for years. The rumor is that Walla Walla is a happening place with wineries, live music, amazing food and culture. Housing prices are off the charts and it is apparently a destination spot. My wife and I are always looking at each other and saying “kinda feels like a ranching town to me”. Anyway, you certainly have a refined sense of the true vibe of a city as you’ve been to nearly every one of them on the planet. This made my day, my man, and I am absolutely smiling. Thank you, Sir!!
Looks like you do what I used to do when traveling for work. As soon as I got to wherever I was staying, I'd get on shank's mare and wander. Interesting indeed!I am loving this view from the inside of touring. Enjoy!
Walla Walla is where they grow the big onions. Must be a challenge to have to remember to avoid people as much as possible. They are playing at another winery tomorrow night.
Just tuned in so this might be a suggestion too late, but Walla Walla has a very cool, cute, little "real" downtown with lots of good restaurants, etc. Lots of fine wineries in Walla Walla, too, that are cool to visit even if you don't drink, as neither you nor I do. The Whitman College (former U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, who must be spinning in his grave, is a notable alumnus) campus is another beautiful place to spend an hour or two.
Beats watching the tele portraying the world comin' apart at the seams. This is more like "gosh Beav' ". Simple and calm. Laughed at your quip about the head stone business being "the happening place to be." :)
A Day Off! Yay!! You're the only person out and about walking around. Stay safe, please. Also no crosswalks noted. Maybe return to hotel get laundry done, make the bathroom your Spa and rent film, 'Elvis'.
Lee, you are simply the best. I have not checked out other musicians sites but that doesn’t matter because you have the BEST channel! At least you take your valuable time and allow us an opportunity to hang out with you on your day off. Appreciate you taking us on a tour with you. Do you get even a little nervous wondering around by yourself?
Thanks for another fantastic tour! Really enjoying this behind the scenes stuff and more on your tour. 🙂👍 I have to wonder what your 1,000th video will be about!? Oh, the suspense.... 🤔
looks like many neighbourhoods, even here in Canada. Looking very much forward for Red Rocks. Many many years ago, (1970's) I did lights for Karen Silver and her band. I only went on the Ontario Holiday in Tour. Well I quit before they left the Province. Touring is an experience. Either you love it or you hate it. I found the latter as I prefer my own bed. I also like to know where I am, and when you wake up in (Clone Hotel) Holiday Inn.. you have no idea what city your in, especially after partying with the band the night before..lol Take care Lee
Hi Lee! Helene here. A day off in WALLA WALLA? I’m so very sorry! 😂. Couldn’t have it in Woodenville or Troutdale, huh? This is hysterical…..having been there myself. Hope that your next day off is sunnier! ☀️
Tako Bell and Donuts. All that a man really needs.
Love ya Leland.

Pretty Oriental Plum trees tho. Envious of their long green grass. Ours in LA has already turned brown.
Oh, those lavender bushes 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Looking forward to #1000
Walla Walla, Washington.
The town so nice, they named it twice!
Enjoy the day off as much as you cam, and be good to you!
Thanks for the tour 🙏
Walla Walla is known for its 🌰 onions! The Pacific NW is quite diverse, Seattle rains, Spokane, four distict seasons and SW WA flat and desert!
I so wanted to zip down the 3 hours from Spokane and see you all! My schedule is just to tight and didn't realize how close the tour was until the other day. Where's my motorcycle when I need it! Blessings Lee! Have a great show!
Folks around the globe don’t get a glimpse of the US or backstage stuff, Lee. It’s fascinating. Many thanks.👍🇬🇧👍

Thats very cool..Can almost feel, Sunday morning, coming down..... but, thats maybe another time..
My parents were married there during WWII. My mother took the train from Philly…❤️
…a stump… I love that! I love these behind the scenes views! Stay well and thanks for bringing us along!
You are so personable, and I have loved getting to know you…sort of (?) in the videos! Having followed you for years, I’m enjoying the tour videos & seeing you hanging with your band mates & just being real.
Thank you Leland ! Great to watch this from Milano Italy ! Love and peace ☮️ ! Ciao 👋
Thanks so much for taking us on the road with you Lee. Really amazing. I hope you and the crew are well. Beautiful scenery.
Great to have a day of rest. Got 3 more days on Austria and Germany back to Maui Friday …..
"We got some fine eatin around here" 😀
Evening Leland and everybody
Fascinating to see the reality of touring life, 2 hours on stage and 22 hours of this sort of stuff, over and over, Le you are getting paid well I hope,

Appreciate you looking both ways before you cross the street
Looks like you had good luck with really nice weather for a day off.

You know what they say, what happens in Walla Walla, stays in Walla Walla😎
Congratulations on nearly 200k subs and 1000 vids. Don't let them block the next one
Great video.
Wow, your little jaunt really shows how few people walk day to day!
Thanks for the tour of the tour👍

This kind of walk is what I was doing when I was a seaman. In port around the Great Lakes, it was discovery day.
Anytown, USA. If it had palm trees and Spanish moss it could be central Florida.
I knew you were wearing your Crocs. I could hear them. ☺
Yapp, definitely Crocs!
Thanks so much for the walk about in Wala Wala Leland.
Loved it ☺️.
Enjoy your day off. Take care, stay safe and God Bless you.
I liked that walk! Seeing a faraway place that otherwise I never would♥ thank you for posting!!

The 2nd Ave detour and the ‘tourist information’ signs were the highlights for me!
James........ And you weren't impressed when Mr Sklar pointed out the "stump" 👍😉🤯
Ah, the glamor of life on the road. Trailers for sale or rent... King of the road!
A Day Off! Yay!! You're the only person out and about walking around. Stay safe, please. Also no crosswalks noted. Maybe return to hotel get laundry done, make the bathroom your Spa and rent film, 'Elvis'.
Life on the wild side! :) Have a (continued) great tour!
Nice little walk and glimpse of the glamorous side of touring!

999th post!! AWESOME!!
Finally we get to see what it's like to be on tour!
Thanks for another fantastic tour! Really enjoying this behind the scenes stuff and more on your tour. 🙂👍
I have to wonder what your 1,000th video will be about!? Oh, the suspense.... 🤔
I played at the Whitman Hotel many a time there in Walla Walla
Evening Lee and all

Hey Leland. Really enjoying the tour videos...keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing you in Petoskey, MI in a couple of weeks!
Hi Lee! Helene here. A day off in WALLA WALLA? I’m so very sorry! 😂. Couldn’t have it in Woodenville or Troutdale, huh? This is hysterical…..having been there myself. There used to a private school there for girls who were…….not performing up to expectations. And before any of you pile on…NO, I did not go to it!
On a long and lonesome highway
East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
Moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
The way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin'
You just wish the trip was through
See here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Well you walk into a restaurant
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode
Most times you can't hear 'em talk
Other times you can
All the same old cliches
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered
You don't dare make a stand
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Out there in the spotlight
You're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy
You try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play
Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette
Rememberin' what she said
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
There I go

Love the walk about tours! This is great! Thank You!
Your videos are great even without music&bass! BTW looking forward to the next 1000
Walla Walla - what a funky name

What a great Opening Shot, Lee (ending on Trailer at
about 0:40). Beautiful, it's like Renoir shot it!
Then the shot up to and around 2:20 Lee. Masterful.
Speilberg-ish.
Nice tidy place.
Thanks for the tour!
Enjoy!!!
Thank you Lee and welcome to the big city...WALLA,WALLA!
Hey Lee. Love these videos. 🙂🙂
You know, it’s a shame that the milestone of 1000 videos could t have been this one. I mean, it would have been perfect in its irony…..😂
You are right! Haha!

Hey there, Lee and all!
Thanks for this journey in WW, Washington, Mr. Leland!!
Man, I wish Leland Sklar would walk randomly through my town! I’ll even treat you to lunch!
Hello)) I hope Mr. Leland will also come to Russia to visit us)))
OMG, I could never hack it! But loved the tour of downtown. Be well bra.
You’re a large size man! Do you even fit into that bunk?? 🤪🤪
Yes, paint the bus. Ha ha
When you said that I realized you were with me in spirit when I painted my car with a mop.
Back in the 70s found a bucket of brown house paint and a mop, and painted my POS ('49 Hillman Minx) car of multiple colors with the mop, and scraped the windows. While I was doing it I was playing James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstandt, etc.
P.S. I named the car The Meatball. My wife was not impressed.
There’s a reason they don’t let the Musos loose in a built up urban area on their day off!
Can’t complain about the weather though, not a cloud in the sky.
Looking forward to something special for #1000.
👍👍. Looks like a road trip vacation to us! We didn't realize how long it had been since we'd been anywhere that wasn't extremely densely populated til we watched this!
Definitely enjoyed the walking tour but hope you're able to look around while filming and not looking through the viewfinder while crossing streets (is there a granny with raised index finger emoji?).
Walla Walla Washington! What an exciting town :-)
I believe you were on the "outskirts" of town 😉 Enjoy the downtime
I wondered what shoes you were wearing. Sounded like flip-flops. Have a great afternoon, Leland!
Well I enjoyed the walk. I understood the hopes-dashed moment of discovering it was only a Pizza Hut though. Our booming memorial stone business is right next to Larry's Better Burger, which gives it a big run for its money. Larry's has so much stuff, but it also has great home made ice cream in about seven flavors. It's an old drive in under an awning, but with walk up windows, and no tables or any place to sit, so it's helpful to have a car, but I have gone anyway, long after I stopped driving sometimes. They are nonstop busy deluxe till 11pm. The two interesting flavors of ice cream are banana nut, and butterfinger. They have the sloppiest nachos ever, but good. Most everything around it is industrial. I miss Harold's barbecue, but I miss Harold more. It had been the only other place near Larrys a few blocks. The guys having a bus barbecue sounds good. The last few years I drove a lot, I started trying a thing to get off the main road through towns that were small but didn't seem to have a lot. I would look for the signs pointing to the library. There's almost always signs, with arrows pointing, saying "visitors station" and "hospital" and "library." I got curious about small town libraries, and museums. I figured the librarians could tell me more about places they liked in town. Usually there wasn't enough time to check the museum. Did get snowed in a few times and did that, since it could be walked to. "Thousand miles from nowhere." :) "Story of my life." "I've Been Everywhere." 😂 Even this morning. Sure felt good to get out of those pants, and tune the guitar.
Thanks for share 👍🏻
Boy, Walla Walla looks like one sleepy town. It looks like that power plant you point out @ 3.40 has been converted into performance space and theater.
Those guys having the BBQ....were they the Transportation Captains?
Drivers and crew
I wonder if anyone driving by at that time was like "Wait, was that Leland Sklar I just drove past?" 😀
It's like walking around a movie set..
Thanks for #999 and the Walla Walla walkabout
At first I thought, "have I stayed in this hotel before" and then realized that there are hotels and hotel parking lots all across America that look pretty much just like this. Was the tour management intentional about trying to stay "in-brand" with the hotels so you aren't splitting up the points across Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, etc. etc?
"Maybe I paint the bus"
I believe a bored Lee is "dangerous" for the surroundings... :-D

Imagine if Leland Sklar is just walking down your street looking on a day off.
Very nice town!
If it’s possible could you show us the inside of the tour bus?
I did a few videos ago.
@@lelandsklar6363 My Bad! Sorry about that.
On such a day off, are you left on your own for dinner or is there a catered meal at the hotel. Those guys grilling looks good. You could grill corn on the cob and some plant based burgers.
On our own.
Plant based burgers...nah. That stuff will kill you.
Do they take the bus through the truck stop bus wash occasionally?
Wondering the same - look pretty sharp. Must also have to break away to refuel, take on water, empty tanks and whatnot a few times a week, huh ??
@@nkleonard1 The drivers take great care of the busses.
