I feel like a ton of people get confused with the term "kink free" hoses. They think it means the hose will never curl or get tangled. All hoses including the uberflex can curl or get tangled. The term "kink" refers to the hose folding on itself and causing a crease that stays in the line forever which causes a weak point in the hose. I see all the time people saying "the uberflex sucks it still kinks" lol. It's not kinking, it's just curling or getting tangled. Buying swivels and QD attachments that rotate help with this issue. Thanks Josh for always making great content. Just wanted to rant and clarify that lol.
That’s a great point to bring to everyone’s attention!! I always show that in the videos but it’s a good idea to dive deeper so people understand the difference!!
Honestly the swivel on the guns offers little to no help. If it did there’d be videos of it working under pressure, but nobody seems to be able to show that.
1/4 inch is a great choice of hose. I run 1/4 continental of hose attached to my AR630 and just love it. The weight of the hose is perfect is very flexible without kinking. Great review
Heya. Im based in the UK, and have the AVA of Norway pressure washer and hose (well, one of their lineup). Its a great machine and the hose is fantastic in the summer. In the winter however, the material that the hose is made of stiffens up dramatically and it becomes a very difficult hose to handle, coiling and tangling with itself. In the summer, it lays flat for the most part. Just my view anyhow.
Love my Uberflex hose. Had it for 2 years now and still never failed yet on me. No kinks and all those problems that others experienced on other hoses.
Same for me they are great! Some people have commented saying they have issues with it and I wonder if maybe it was a fake uberflex cause the ones I have are amazing
I’m one who had trouble with the Uberflex and the Active 2.0. It would keep running. Sold the Uberflex and bought the Adam’s 60’ steel braided and problem solved. Thanks for another informative video.
I had surging with my Active 2.0 and Uberflex and upgraded to a steel braided hose. The new hose worked for a while and now I'm having some more surging issues again.
I bought the 60’ Adams hose based on Josh’s review. In fact, I bought the hose before I purchased the Active 2.0. I tested pressure and flow with a variety of nozzles. First I tested the Active 25’ hose, then the Adams 60’ hose, and finally I coupled them together for 85’. There was no appreciable difference between any of the lengths tested. Since my Active is shelf mounted in the back corner of my garage, that extra 10’ with the Adams hose sure is handy.
@@OldDetailer How heavy is that Adam’s steel hose? I have a 50 ft Dewalt that weights a ton, it’s steel and overkill for my Active 2.0. It’s never been used. I really liked the Uberflex for its weight.
@@NO_OPEC_NO_PROBLEM Sorry, I don’t know the answer to your question, and I don’t have any easy way to weight it. I think if you sent an email to Adams they might be able to tell you. However, the real weight is when it is filled with water, and that is how mine is stored. I won’t drain it till there is a chance of freezing, which is almost never in my garage. This much I can tell you, I had a SunJoe with 50’ of their heavy duty hose. The Adams does not seem to be any heavier. Also, when I compare the Adams to the Active 25’ hose they seem to be about the same weight adjusting for the difference in length of course. Weight really isn’t much of an issue for me because in use it is on the ground, and in fact I store mine along the back wall of the garage. I’d like a Cox reel, but my space is a little tight and I just don’t want to spend that kind of money. My storage method is not great to look at but it sure works wonderful. I just have it laced back and forth along the back wall with the gun up on a hook. When I want it out on the driveway, I just grab the gun and pull it straight out, no kinks or coils, and it doesn’t fight me at all. And stored in two long lengths it doesn’t develop a memory!
My last pressure washer had a 50' steel braided and my new gas pressure washer that I have tailored and dialed in to wash cars with has an uberflex as per your recommendation for right about a year now. First thing I noticed is how lite it is! I don't have to walk the hose out every time I switch sides of the car I can grab it and just kind of whip it out and keep going. Makes things faster and easier. I have also used the uberflex with my washer cranked all the way up for household chores with no issue at all.
Definitely need to upgrade my hose. One of the most infuriating things about rolling my Ryobi out to clean my car is that stupid factory hose that curls up and I spend half the time trying to piss around with the hose when I could be cleaning the car. Thanks for the video!
I need a new pressure washer hose so for me it will be the UBER FLEX for sure. I hate the hose that came with the pressure washer and I really need to upgrade it asap! Thanks for posting, this helped me to solidify the decision I had made a couple of months ago to purchase of the 50ft UBER FLEX.
Walmart's HARR brand of pressure washer hoses are uberflex hoses. 35' . They come with a connecting fitting. I bought two and now have 70' of uberflex from Walmart. Work perfect.
The Yamatic is a nice hose - I used one until the Adam's hose came available. I like the Adam's better, just wish it had a swivel on both ends. Always great info Josh, thank you.
I have an Active 2.0 and run a 50' Uberflex. I've heard people talk the surging issue but have never experienced it. I run my water through an RV style inline carbon filter and a dual bed DI system. I wonder if the DI system or filter changes the flow or pressure in a way that mitigated the issue.... or i'm just lucky.
I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't understand why Uberflex doesn't work with Active 2.0. I have the Red Uberflex 50' hose with an Active 2.0 and the third time I used it the whole unit died, no power at all. Active said that using the Uberflex "technically voids the warranty" but would send me a micro switch as a goodwill geasture. None of their material, warranty information or videos states this, so I pushed back on this. After replacing the microswitch that Active sent me, the machine worked again, haven't used the Uberflex since, so that is money down the drain, and honestly wish I had just gone with another brand, I love what they are doing, but if you have accessories already, you risk them not being compatible with the machine, without adequate warning, and they threaten to yank their warranty...
Really like my Flexzilla hose. Really recommend using the over, under technique when wrapping hoses or cords. So much smoother when uncoiling them for use.
You REALLY should use/learn the over/under wrap up method. It makes the hose never catch on itself when pulling it out and it's the only method I use since learning it. The bonus is it works the same on extension cords and ropes too. I have the Uberflex blue 50' hose on my main pressure washer but have recently bought a ROYBI 40V Battery powered pressure washer for mobile detail use, so I don't need a power generator. I think I might get that YAMATIC Steel Braided Hose for my main and use the Uberflex on the RYOBI.
Bepower sells a 25ft hose with quick connect in Home Depot Canada that looks exactly like the Yamatic. It is around 44$ US with the conversion. I've seen it in person and is very nice. The outer liner is written Continental. You can connect two together easily to make it 50 feet. Comes out more expensive than uberflex 50 feet, but it is more wear resistant than the uberflex, especially on asphalt.
May wanna mention the yamatic having a male 3/8 quick connect on one end to mate with 3/8 female that’s common on gas Pw’s but not on electric PW. Most of the QC kits for electric PW create 3/8” male on pressure washer output, so yamatic requires a separate adapter. Good thing is allows to use same hose on gas or electric afterward :)
Big props, a like and subscribe to Josh for all these videos - and updating them periodically. As I commented on an earlier video, I just bought from Amazon what looks like a copy the Uberflex. The hose, a set of adapters and the benefit of a 10 percent coupon brought the price to all of just under $33, with same day delivery. Will it be any good? For that price I will roll the dice. My theory is that many of what appear to be knockoff goods are from the same factories but merely branded differently - if they are branded at all. In the foam cannon’s early days I bought on eBay what was obviously the same cannon as what Chemical Guys was selling, for far less, minus the CC sticker on the foam container. BTW, keep Flexzilla type hoses far away from the muffler on your gas engined pressure washer. Ask me how I know. Funny thing, the Amazon hose has that warning printed right on the hose.
I had a uberflex on a reel for storage and I found it developed a memory on it and anytime I took it out to use it rolling it out was annoying because it would want to loop. I upgraded to that yamatic and actually preferred it because of the weight I liked how it laid down when washing. I actually tried a kobrajet hose and it was super nice but I preferred the weight of the 1/4 yamatic I just wish it was smooth jacket that was nice
Josh, would you mind helping me out? I have the Cat 1800 which is surging with the Flexzilla. I bought the new hose you highlighted that go with the Active pressure washers. Can you point me to what adapters I need? I have no idea of what to do with the end that is just pointy. I apologize for my ignorance, but I keep buying the wrong adapters and thought you might know.
Thanks for the video. I have been meaning to get a steel braided hose for my Active, because I am getting the "surging" with the Uber-Flex hose. Particularly when the total stop engages. The machine continues to run, but at a noticeably different pitch, like it is working harder because it is pumping up the pressure into a wall.
Ordered my Uber flex on the recommendation and works pretty good but can’t get the stupid little Kinks out, tried straightening hose before rolling got a good round loop and when attached to pressure washer all the little kinks and 1/2 8 are back
I recently ordered an Active 2.0 and am looking forward to using it for the first time. I originally bought an UberFlex hose to go with it. But after seeing Active recommends using a steel braided hose. I am considering going with a Yamatic house instead. Have you experienced surging issues when using your UberFlex hose with the Active 2.0? And would you suggest using one of the Yamatic steel braided hoses instead?
I got a 50ft YAMATIC hose for 30$. Let it sit in the sun and takes a few days straightening it out but it’s never a kink issue and I don’t have a swivel to correct it
I have had my Craftsman 1800 psi washer on occasion to cycle on and off with my UberFlex hose. It doesn't effect the performance of the Craftsman washer, it's just sometimes annoying.
Hi Josh. I have a power play spyder mini pressure washer and I’m having trouble finding quick connects that’s will fit all my connections. Please help 😢
I'm currently using a Ryobi EZClean and I'm wondering what I can use to replace the short PVC hose that it uses to syphon from my water container.... would a pressure washer hose be a good idea? or would I be better just using a garden hose? will an increase in diameter affect the syphoning ability of the Ryobi?
whats that patent number for the hart(walmart) hose thats the same as the uberflex hose cuz im assuming that comes in white! and does it come in 50ft size?
Can you test the POHIR hose? I believe you will not like POHIR because it is a heavy hose. But probably will win on all other requirements like non-kink, durability, etc.
Hey o wanted to ask a ?? When I use my pressure washer in the front of the house , in the back of the house where the other water hose connection it makes a noise like it’s releasing pressure ? Any idea what it could be ?? Ty
I have an electric element pressure washer, but the hose is badly kinked and my Uber Flex hose doesn't fit this pressure washer. I'm unsure what type of adapter I need to connect my Uber Flex hose, any thoughts?
Agreed. I bought the kit and I really wish they shipped with a 50' hose at least. I haven't felt the need to upgrade the gun to short one yet. The foam cannon was going to be my first upgrade, but I just can't deal with having to move the washer so often because of the short hose.
Tried uberflex on my prosumer 2700 gas PW. With a steel hose, it’d hold my line pressure (about 2500psi) basically forever after releasing gun trigger. With the uberflex, it would drop the line pressure about 300-400 psi over course of first 5-10 seconds after releasing trigger, and then remain at the dropped pressure Depending on active’s sensitivity on their pressure switch, it’s possible that same drop occurring with uberflex is causing the PW to surge/pump to try increasing (but never achieve) pressure above the cutoff
Does the Active 2.3 have the same problems with the unerfllex hose as the Active 2.0? I literally got the 50' uberflex hose 2 days ago to use with my Ryobi 1800, but my plan is to hopefully upgrade to an Active unit by next summer. So I'm seriously thinking i should send the uberflex back and just buy the steel banded hose now. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I wanted an Uberflex. But All I could find was 25 or 50 which are too long or short. Then I found the 35ft Hart brand hose at Walmart is an Uberflex. It's in Hart packaging but says Uberflex on it. Perfect length.
I also had trouble with the Uberflex/FlexZilla with the Active 2.0 Adam’s was out of stock so I bought a hose on Amazon saying it was flexible and the size I wanted. While it seems heavy it has worked well and the Active hose that came with the 2.0 definitely showed me that 25’ is not long enough. I spent as much time moving the washer as actually spraying the car. Also it should be noted that the Active hoses are 5/16” rather than the 1/4” that Josh uses. I don’t know if it makes any difference but that’s what I bought just to be careful of my ability to go back to Active with any problems.
I bought the 50' uber and it kinks on me constantly...it will not lay straight like yours... it keeps the memory of how i store it... very disappointed
I appreciate your efforts! 🙏 I have a quick question: 🤷♂️ I found these words 😅. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). Not sure how to use them, would appreciate help. 🙏
Yep. Mine corroded after literally 2 uses in a month. Connector also rusts pretty easily. Other than the weight and ease of rolling up, I wasn’t very impressed
I got the Uberflex and regret it. The coiling back on itself is unbelievable. I’ve laid it out in the sun to soften it before using, but it still coils back. I’d never recommend it.
@@imjoshv in NC. I even bought the hand sprayer with the swivel and it doesn’t help. When I wash my car or deck, the hose looks like dozens of circles. And this is after stretching it out in the driveway on a 90 degree day to soften it up. It’s all good, but thanks for checking back!
These "plastic" factory fitted hoses are a complete and utter joke and next to useless, you spend more time straightening them out than washing the car
Hey @imjoshv What brand of products do you use the most or do you always use a little of everything? And will you be doing a review on Pan's line of products Clean?

I have an electric element pressure washer, but the hose is badly kinked and my Uber Flex hose doesn't fit this pressure washer. I'm unsure what type of adapter I need to connect my Uber Flex hose, any thoughts?
Question is Ryobi going to come out with a new pressure washer? You know the $100 electric one
Ive never had an issue with my uberflex and active 2.0.
Awesome!
Active 2.0 comes with a skimpy 25’ hose. Unless you’re pressure washing a golf cart, 25’ is too short. Wish Uberflex had a flexible steel hose.
With the uberflex, it would drop the line pressure about 300-400 psi over course of first 5-10 seconds after releasing trigger, and then remain at the dropped pressure
Depending on active’s sensitivity on their pressure switch, it’s possible that same drop occurring with uberflex is causing the PW to surge/pump to try increasing (but never achieve) pressure above the cutoff
I like my adams super flex 60 ft
Don’t forget the Harbor Freight hose, but it’s only 25’
My Uber flex gets so stiff when running with water have to drag it around all the time. Anyone got tips?
I store my Uberflex hose on a reel and it lays out perfectly flat. When it becomes pressurized it forms dozens of tight loops. Very annoying.
I'm super frustrated with my 50 ft uberflex. Always curls up and super cumbersome
I’m sorry to hear that. What were you using before the uberflex?
@imjoshv I replaced the 25' greenworks uberflex one with the 50'. Not sure if the longer length is the reason
I wanted an Uberflex. But All I could find was 25 or 50 which are too long or short. Then I found the 35ft Hart brand hose at Walmart is an Uberflex. It's in Hart packaging but says Uberflex on it. Perfect length.
Every uberflex I’ve had had kinked so bad
I also had trouble with the Uberflex/FlexZilla with the Active 2.0 Adam’s was out of stock so I bought a hose on Amazon saying it was flexible and the size I wanted. While it seems heavy it has worked well and the Active hose that came with the 2.0 definitely showed me that 25’ is not long enough. I don’t know if it makes any difference but that’s what I bought just to be careful of my ability to go back to Active with any problems.
I immediately replace those junk factory hoses.
Recently rebuilt my setup and I’ve noticed that my Uberflex connections have started to corrode…..anyone else??
Really?? It shouldn’t do that at all. Are you in a colder climate maybe?
@@imjoshv in NC. I even bought the hand sprayer with the swivel and it doesn’t help. When I wash my car or deck, the hose looks like dozens of circles. And this is after stretching it out in the driveway on a 90 degree day to soften it up. It’s all good, but thanks for checking back!
Showing a proprietary hose in this video is silly....
Yeah not keen on paying 150 for a hose
These "plastic" factory fitted hoses are a complete and utter joke and next to useless, you spend more time straightening them out than washing the car
Hey @imjoshv
What brand of products do you use the most or do you always use a little of everything?
And will you be doing a review on Pan's line of products Clean?
