My friend (Matt) is the guy who came up with viewfinder. When we were living together he would keep showing me dumb little things he was excited for people to find. Watching Kev point out all dumb the things and "breaking" the game the way Matt hoped people would... it melts my heart. I wasn't involved in anyway with the development, but I seen first hand how much was getting put into this game. The amount of passion and personal dedication that was poured into Viewfinder was admirable to say the least. I am so glad I can watch someone playing EXACTLY as hoped. Just dumb fun, not looking for the correct way to solve a puzzle, and embracing the characters for their quirks. The fact I can see this response from one of my favourite RUclipsrs could honestly make me cry.
I love how much kevin sounds like a point & click game protagonist this video. "That's not what I need right now." "I'm gonna have to find a picture or something." "I don't know where to go." "Can I go up that path?" "There's Gotta be a picture here somewhere." And thats all just in the span of like 20 seconds at 1:40
All joking aside, the audio issue was really barely noticable. I probably wouldnt have noticed it all if he himself didnt pointed out in the video. Maybe is more of a blaring issue in youre using headphones?
I KNOWWW that got me so emotional, I can't believe this game already got me so attached to this character in the 1,5 minutes he was present in the video🥹
Kevin is a photography genius. I can’t believe how perfect the audio was in this video. This also makes him an editing genius, and I remember no reality in which this is untrue.
Kevin always pushes the envelope when it comes to audio quality, wonderful work, I can’t imagine what it must feel like for someone who can’t achieve this amazing sound
having written games myself (as a hobby) I always appreciate games with a rewind feature. For those who haven't tried before, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to pull it off efficiently (keeping track of gamestate and input over time without having terrabyte sized save files is a real challenge!)
I'm so glad you played through the entire game in this video! It's really nice to have that resolution, especially when I haven't played the game myself. Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos!
You should try holy potatoes, a weapon shop! I promptly remember you saying you're obliged to play all potato game as an irishman. This game is filled with fun references and whatnot too. I love it!
I've been binge watching Kevin's content so much lately, he actually feels like a friend ❤ Edit: Kevin is a person on the internet. He's not literally a friend. Thanks for the concern about my mental health though. It's really nice to know people care
Please seek help if you think this way. Like actually think this way. That's you being mentally unstable. It can cause harm to you and people around you in the end if it goes too far.
This is one of the coolest games Ive seen in a while! I saw another youtuber play it not long ago and was completely blown away by it. So glad Kevin is playing it!!
I only watched half so far because I'm playing this game myself and I don't want the answers spoiled, but I'll be back when I'm done! I only just got to Mirren's level. That last one where the battery turned into a cylander really hurt my brain. I hate that I had to look up the answer, but I was to the point of constantly throwing myself off the edge in frustration, only to be even more frustrated by my lack of death. 😅 I felt so dumb when I saw how to do it!
It's a great feature! I love that a lot of kids' games have been adding it, and that the old console games on Switch all have it as an extra feature. I think my favourite games where it's actually a big part of the game are Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Braid :)
Man, this videos audio was so *ok* for the first *01:12* of it. The rest was *ok* too, this is why I love watching CallMeKevin. Quality, especially in the *ok* audio. You’ll never get a video with audio this *ok* for the first *01:12* of it from anyone else.
I was one of the testers for this game and it was so much fun.. I always wanted to see you play this since I watched you play Superliminal but I had to wait for the game to come out lol
22:35 "I've just adapted to this world now, I'm not coming back" reminds me too much of the time I played Superliminal for two hours straight and my brain was convinced the entire world was an optical illusion afterwards. I've seen the start of this game before but boy oh boy it gets even more trippy as it goes. (Obligatory admiration for Kevin's flawless audio engineering skills.)
As an Orange owned person I can confirm. One Orange Brain Cell shared amongst all orange cats absolutely holds true for Kevin. My cat only gets a connection to it once a year or so for a firmware update. This year he learned how to use his puzzle feeder, so now he doesn't want food in his food dish. Only in puzzle feeder. He learned to open doors last year, so honestly, this is a much better use of the brain cell. I have to warn people that if they use the bathroom, he will most likely barge in on them just to ensure the door stays open.
@@Jockdog LOL yes! My orange boy figured out which walls in the house make the best shadows so if he wants to play Shadows, he will sit up against the wall and chirp at me until he gets his shadows from me. He has only gotten the braincell once in his life, and it was for his shadows.
@@marrchaney9206 Oh my goodness, that's so adorable... and 100% orange. The things they decide are toys go way beyond twist ties and balls of foil. Although I had a couple of heavy-duty twist ties that won Toy of the Year several years running, because cats. Nothing says "Cat Owner" like getting more excited over the twist ties included in a piece of electronics than the electronics themselves. 😂
Not really anything to do with the video but I love your humor and personality, it's my main way to cheer up after a bad day and I wanted to thank you for it Keep up the good work Kevin!
Speaking on Evil Gardeners, there was a story I learned in high school when we were learning about genetics ( i haven't been able to confirm it) that some scientist guy crossbred a whole bunch of plants and accidently made hybrids that produce more pollen. In reality we have more pollen due to our climate but I still like blaming mystery Evil Gardener on my allergies.
Out of curiosity, your teacher mentioned Mendel and how we have genetics because of his pea plants right? Just it was flower color, not pollen. Cause this exact statement sounds like how my teachers would change plant color with other things sometimes. (I had genetics a lot throughout high school and college and for some reason they all did that) Never heard about more pollen though 😂
"I don't know if I'm supposed to do it like this" I think the whole point is that you are free to solve the puzzles however you want with the tools given. Makes for quite an interesting game. :)
Oh wow, I didn't even realize it was longer than usual until I saw your comment! I was too into the game I guess :) I totally agree, I like the longer videos!
I watched "ManyATrueNerd" play this in a one off episode... and..it's really a fascinating game that has you explore a sort of 4d exploration of the liminal space. It allows for super complex solutions, and insanely simple ones. One of the few games I found to be truly cool in its demand for critical thinking.
I love puzzle games that offer up so much freedom when it comes to solving them, instead of there being only "one true solution". It also allows the games to have that much more room for potential messing-around in 😂 The voice acting for CAIT was fantastic, too. I know Kevin was skipping by a lot, but the range of the performance is really impressive. This game gave my heartstrings as heavy a tug as my brainmeats 😢

Keven is like _weirdly_ the exact target audience for this game. Like to a odd degree.
Sounds like a developer with a drive to make puzzles that are both conniving and also open to being solved. Exactly how I think good puzzlegames are!
We'll just... take your word for that I guess lol
can confirm, Sparky's my buddy 😊@@THEGOOD360
lmao i muted the characters and never read the dialogue i just like the concept and solving puzzles lol
Love it when kevin gets a taste of his own medicine as the game trolls him back ❤
about time lol
He liked it ❤💛🖤♥
I cant believe how perfect the audio was in this video, so proud of how far Kevin has come
Nothing but professionalism.
he's the professionalest for sure
Some might call him an audio genius
Audio Prodigy
When you record multiple audio channels you can fix your mistakes after 😂
I love how much kevin sounds like a point & click game protagonist this video.
"That's not what I need right now."
"I'm gonna have to find a picture or something."
"I don't know where to go."
"Can I go up that path?"
"There's Gotta be a picture here somewhere."
And thats all just in the span of like 20 seconds at 1:40
The best part about the last one is that the thing he needed was right next to him as well
Kevin is very professional when it comes to audio and video. I was blown away by how there were no errors at all in this video.
All joking aside, the audio issue was really barely noticable. I probably wouldnt have noticed it all if he himself didnt pointed out in the video. Maybe is more of a blaring issue in youre using headphones?
"Games trolling Kevin" is my second favourite type of videos on this channel, right after "Kevin trolling games" videos.
Cait disappearing with tears in his eyes while purring was heartbreaking :(
I KNOWWW that got me so emotional, I can't believe this game already got me so attached to this character in the 1,5 minutes he was present in the video🥹
and kevin didn't show the credits but they literally say hashtag justice for cait at the end 😭💗

Cant wait to see how kevin accidentally solves puzzles the “wrong” way

Same tho
🎉
as funny as this all was, I'm really impressed by the game developers. This was a really interesting type of gameplay
Indie devs are carrying the entire industry rn!
Yeah thank god for independant developers in all artistic fields. Down with corporate america.
Kevin is a photography genius. I can’t believe how perfect the audio was in this video. This also makes him an editing genius, and I remember no reality in which this is untrue.
I'm so impressed over games like these - and even more impressed by Kevin's two braincells still being alive, even if barely
his 2 braincells are the 1% of germs that hand sanitizers fail to kill. many have tried, none have succeeded.
I love how everything is ok and functional in this professional let's play video.
My favourite part was how everything was professioal quality the whole time. Kevin is a prefessional genius!
I feel like watching such a trippy game on this particular channel is going to make it a thousand times more confusing, and I love it. 😂
I feel like Kevin has played so many puzzle games that we’ll never truly know which one is “the coolest”

Kevin always pushes the envelope when it comes to audio quality, wonderful work, I can’t imagine what it must feel like for someone who can’t achieve this amazing sound
I was SO HOPING for this game, because Superliminal is my most rewatched here. Maybe I just like it when Kevin gets trolled.
I really liked how absolutely everything was okay in this video, classic Kevin, a consummate professional.
love how kevin is bashing himself for the little mistake with the audio all while i didn't even noticed it in the beginning
having written games myself (as a hobby) I always appreciate games with a rewind feature. For those who haven't tried before, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to pull it off efficiently (keeping track of gamestate and input over time without having terrabyte sized save files is a real challenge!)
It's amazing how much of a professional Kevin is. The audio is flawless!
"I'm never leaving!"
"What!? I'm trapped in here!" 😂😂
"Who is this cat? I feel like he's judging me" 😂😂😂

UaU the audio at the beginning is epically on point, proving Kevin is a recording genius.
I was just watching the superliminal videos recently, love these kinds of games. Also love Kevin's brain falling apart trying to solve them
Less than two minutes in and my brain hurts. But what a cool concept!
Its like a “make ur own fromsoft game map” simulator haha, all the interconnectedness and unexpected turns and secrets
"Yes! This changes everything!"
"Oh no! This changes everything!"

my favorite part was how everything was perfectly fine in the beginning, especially the audio. first impressions are everything👏🏻

Every videogame should have the rewind option. That's such a good idea!.

I was so happy when Kev started the video with the voice acting off, but then he "fixed" it...
At least he cut or talked over most of it

"Oh another falling one! These are grea- OoOOooOh NoOoOoO" 😂
that thumbnail just made me think of the bridge in runescape, lumbridge. title is also fitting.
17:16 seeing Kevin pick up both film without picking up one and taking photos of it multiple times genuinely hurts me
I have beaten this game over 5 times by now, it's probably one of my favorite games of the year.
