Call Me Kevin
This game is a studio's failed ideas
#CallMeKevin #Gaming #Gameplay - Игры
Whoever at Landfall thought "Let's put unfinished projects into a game and have a rating function so we can see if any of these ideas are actually worth investing more time into" is a genius
Then there is people like Kevin... FIVE STARS!
@@davidthea.i3078 their going to close soon then
@@davidthea.i3078the old problem with the star system, 5 stars or 1 star
@@davidthea.i3078 to be fair all the games look like interesting concepts.
a game design genius
Its an absolutely genius idea to you just pile up all your failed games into one game
Crazy that the standards have fallen so low
It's like those janky flash games sites.
Sorry but these are not all failed games tabs is not a failed game
@@NotSomeOrdinaryGuy you goofy bruh
@@gnat4999 not really
I don't know if you've heard this joke before. A homicidal maniac and professional cult leader walks into the Landfall Archives...
This isn't a joke, it's just a description of what happened.
Shhhhh! I wanna know the punchline!
His name is Kevin
Bruh, you fail at comedy. Give up and lie down on the ground and wait.
@@MrGreen876No, this is Patrick 😡
Fun fact: the post boxes in the post game have the phrase ”postnörd” written on them, this is a play on ”postnord”, a major postal service company in Sweden. ”postnörd” translates to post nerd, or mail nerd. As a swede i found this pretty funny
As a swede and i found Kevins reaction and "play style" in this game pretty accurate. Just yeeting stuff around and don't give a shit about where the packages end up or in what condition they are going to arrive in
@@davidthea.i3078 For all we know, that might be actual footage from the factory
@@computerbiscuit9585 Well, as a former postnörd worker, i can confirm this actually could be some legit footage :)
They're in all of the Nordics except Iceland, but yes as a Dane I also found it very enjoyable!
Naaah you took my comment idea🙃
18:06 Ahh, of course. The premise is that you bid on weapons, and with those weapons, you fight. Since you're the only player there, you automatically win the combat portions.
Winning strategy: have no friends
I can't believe I didn't realize this was from the creators of TABS until TABS literally showed up. Most of these are hilariously dumb and would get me addicted.
So one of their concepts worked
@@kaitlando636 TABS did work. it was actually quite popular sometimes and its a great game. the TABS in the video is just an early unfinished version.
Honestly same but I didn’t even realised TABS meant totally accurate battle simulator until I saw the wheelbarrow man.
8:07 what's great about the name "Postnord" is that they are notorious for sending stuff in the wrong address in real life and they have poor reviews all around in scandinavia. i love the developers
I can confirm this is how it looks
I think Anything For My Pals could be a really great game.
There’s a very similar game called “humanity”
reminds of of if pikmin were voice controlled, or like the Clank sections of Ratchet and Clank
Yess
They put a LOT of work into this. It was so unexpected, at least for me. Everything was far more polished than expected.
in Computer Developing cycle the first version (usually called alpha) is expected to be able to do all specifications of the program, so it makes sense that a professional dev team makes games that work but aren't polished up graphically and bug free
Doesn't change the fact that some of these look addictive af despite being a free alpha of a failed product
@@griffinbastion The polished bit is what I was caught off guard with. There were far fewer bugs than I'd expect and all of the designs looked intentional, rather than in development. But maybe these games were further along before than I expected when they abandoned them. I work in web dev, which is similar I suppose. But the way we work is different. Design usually comes far later, at least in my experience.
17:35 For anyone wondering, the thing Kevin is bidding for is a very rare umbrella
I‘m just amazed anyone understood what was happening
Hahaha en mycket särskilt paraply? Was that it?
@@serithlenigodSällsynt, but yes, good guess 👍
Kevin somehow manages to form weird cults in absolutely ANY game given
And in real life too. WE ARE THE CULT!
This isn't a cult, I'm saying this as a cult member.
The fact the stressful looking post game was never made is honestly criminal
Auction brawl actually looked like an interesting concept. It seems you bid against other players for weapons, then use them against each other.
I'd love a full 'anything for my pals' game
You might like “humanity” then
It exists, it's a 4 game series, it's called Pikmin
@@WohaoG 💀
Same
That second game is like if Pikmin were made of fever dreams. I like it. 😂
That's the 3rd game
Honestly a lot of this games have a big potential to be good games by themselves
Specially the one with fighting guys with googly eyes.
Blob :)
plant plane seems to be a game based on risk and reward, like you'd have to put as many plants on the level within a limited time while trying to get to the goal
13:20 ok but worms but with crazy physics on everything like this sounds awesome
20:51 The mammoth getting ready to take it with that sound effect is just perfect.
The mammoth getting fired to ass was my favorite part.
Kevin's channel is where games go to be played...er..."differently."
The weird people walking and jumping to walk the line cracked me just to fall in a pit. 😂
This game is really sweet for they have managed to turn their ideas for things that never got released into a game. They went above and beyond with exploring an underground idea archive filled with file cabinets and a single monitor. Definitely caught my attention
"That looks confusing, overwhelming, and stressful. I'm going to play it ..."
My internal dialogue, every morning, when I awake ...
Crazy to think I was starting high school when I started watching Kev and now I’m 25 and a mechanical engineer 😳
It goes so quick honestly glad he’s still uploading though
@@alishaamber5 it really does. Just had graduation Saturday and I still have flashbacks of his old videos. Time flies when you’re having fun
But his channel is only 7 years old. You started high school when you were 18?
@@rachelcookie321 you must be new. Kevin has an old channel he started in 2009.
man same. I was I think 16 when I first started watching Kev?
Now I’m pursuing a career as a mechanical engineer lmao
That "Medival America" game is the most close representation of modern America but without schools 💀
"I managed to make my house just walk into the sky" would be an unexpected sentence anywhere else but this is Kevin's channel.
This was an absolutely incredible idea from the developers instead of just scrapping their tome effort and money they just throw the stuff they don’t want into a game to ale it a game of mini games 🤯 this will be the future
The walking the line part at 6:55 is so funny. Thank you Kev for your great videos as always!
these videos are always perfect when I want a break from reality
That must be why I watch them constantly
@@scp-682-cu6 same😭😭😭
@@lsmetankal U guys and ur scP namess. Omeger lool.
reality has terrible graphics tbh
That embrace scene was exactly like a dream I once had. 😳
WHAT
Kevin is an unfinished gaming genius
Of course, everyone can left a game unfinished, but Kevin does it with almost eveery game he plays. Trully a profesional at never finishing things.
I think what happened around 18:20 is that this is supposed to be a multiplayer game, but no one else was playing. I assume that after the bidding phase, you're supposed to fight around with other players (and whoever stays standing wins the match and earns a coin), but since there were no other players, you automatically won every round by default.
waw our friend kevin
Waw
The cult simulator game reminds me of The Last Guardian but with ominous tall floppy versions of the tree spirits from Mononoke Princess
They need to continue on with this hilarious concept
Check out Humanity, same concept
I love how these games are spoken sometimes in swedish, our passive aggressive way of saying screw off to the rest of the world
Why though?
@@MoGumbo_ varför inte?
@@theinternetlawyer7126 No, I'm asking how its a passive aggressive way to tell people to screw off, I'm genuinely confused on what you're trying to say
17:34 that looks like another one of those fighting games. The twist for that one looks like the fact that everyone bids for the weapons they use and then brawl it out, but since you had no one to play with it just automatically gave you the win. Looks really fun.
Could you imagine playing this in the backrooms? They just seem like they'd go together.
Post game actually seems really fun because instead of the typical management game things like splitters and sorters everything in post game is physical and the challenge comes from designing your own solutions using the various ways of moving boxes, all while more and more boxes keep piling up and falling into the void
just wanna say that I'm really loving the new graphic overlays like the puff of breath at 12:15-ish and the new fire graphics. they look really great and add a nice flare to transitions that isnt jarring or like something out of windows movie maker (rest in peace to our hero). idk if it's Braddrs or Kevin who came up with it but alls I's knows is it looks awesome
For those looking for a full version of “Anything for my pals” it obviously doesn’t exist but something similar does, it’s called “humanity” and it’s quite similar, the differences are: you’re a dog, you place commands down for an endless stream of humans to follow instead of telling a limited group of them commands, and it’s third person. That’s really all the differences i can think of, it’s the same general idea, guide humans to the end of a level using commands, and there’s even a glowing orb that talks in that game as well. It’s more complicated with the commands but the humans are less wobbly
Though it's not the same, the games The Beginners Guide, and The Magic Circle are similar in the way that they tell the story of developers going through development hell.
I need an 8 hr video on the mail game rn. it's weirdly soothing
Whether we’re cooking, gaming, singing, or skating Kevin is always making our days better ❤
true
True
So true! If I’m having a bad day I know a Kevin video will make me laugh and cheer me up 😊
I just finished playing Black Mesa last week then played through their dev phase levels for Xen. It's so cool to see devs make their inner workings playable like this!
Weird game ideas from a Swedish game studio! That’s fun! Btw in that mail boxes game, the color and the name “Postnörd” (mail nerd) is in reference to the real Swedish/Danish mail service “Postnord” (mail north) that is known to often lose or delay package deliveries, which the game idea seems to hint towards with you constantly losing packages 😅
Wow... I can't believe I've already been watching Kevin for 4 years. How time passes
Love this, wish big game creators would do this, if they actually cared about pleasing our gaming needs, that is. Lmao.
i'm usually not a laugh-out-loud kind of video watcher, but i did laugh a lot under this one, it was great! lovely to see you kevin, hope you're doing well! 💜
12:58 that’s what Kevin failed when walking out the cinema in 2016
I honestly love Landfall, their style, and the games they put out, to see this is great. Probably my favorite studio.
love it so much when the editor came through with the sfx for the house game
Thank you for the content Kevin. You are so awesome. Always making me laugh and putting out great content.
Kevin's kind of a military genius
the last thing i wanna see in my life is kevin peeking from a skyrim door
Kevin is awesome, this dude just squeezed a "Lets game it out" video on there
The voice overs in the games are hilarious - "I don't even know what this one is called."
This is proof that a game doesn't need to be photo realistic or have true to life gameplay. A game justt needs to be fun. 😁
11:02
Ingnore that package that fell off...
Im not sure who cane up with the idea of polishing and releasing a bunch of early development games as one larger game, but that wasa smart move.
Honestly I had trouble not to pee myself at the mammoth part, it was hilarious - the silly dance, the comedic pause of you talking, the fact that there is a lowpoly little pink guy shooting prehistoric elephants with rockets for no reason while it wiggles its butt in front of him and then it didn't even care, I can't breathe properly since the last twenty minutes that is just peak comedy X'D
I totally lost it really, "He is doing a great little dance-" *BOOOM* *Depression cured* 🤣
Haaaw I love your editing, keep it up x'DDD
No better present than a Kevin video
The postal game is very accurate. Must be how the actual company handles packages
“Anything For My Friends” was a cute game, I enjoyed it! Perfect game for Kevin. ☺️❤💀
If Kevin was in charge of Postnörd (Postnord), then our packages would ACTUALLY arrive. 99% of them MIGHT be severely damaged, but at least they'll arrive at our homes...
These seem like the kind of games Kevin would make
TO FIX THE LAG ISSUE: find the games themselves in the installed folder. The Landfall Archives game actually just launches other games, which means that you actually have two games running at once, and the Landfall Archives is actually somewhat computationally expensive for a what little it has.
Kevin's immediate addiction to the post box game is so funny
PostNord is a real postal service here in Scandinavia/the Nordic countries, and this is probably how they lose all our packages for real
The follower game actually seems really cool. I like that concept for a full puzzle game!
all of these look super fun especially the box one, I feel that with a little more polish the box one could be really really popular
So to me it seems the auction game is a mutliplayer brawler where you bid on weapons then enter a level and fight, but since there was no other player(s) you instanly won each fight
the funniest part of the post sorting game is that the logo is a parody and almost exact copy of the swedish postage company called Postnord (post/mail north) who has a reputation of losing packages, having generally slow deliveries and bad handling. infact, like 80% of swedish memes are about how shit postnord is. the one in game uses the same font and color except the O in "nord" is replaced with Ö spelling "nörd" (nerd). i think kevin's playtrough could very well be actual footage from the postnord factories.
Every game studio should do this! This is amazing!
Ah yes, Howl's Moving War Machine. My favorite Ghibli movie.
5:44 the absolute devastation Kevin felt was wholesome lol
I love these compilation videos
Hope you are doing well Kevin! Been watching a lot of ur past streams lately for comfort, looking forward to the next one :)
As a Nordic who has to deal with PostNord, I would not be surprised if Kevin's system is actually how they sort packages...
finally one of your videos hits my feed again
I love these type of mashup games
Kevin: “This is what I need 50 yes men all as pale as me.
Also Blob X Kevin Best Friends Forever.
They released this for april fools. All of this, for april fools. Absolute chads.
13:30 it's like Pong, Worms, and Angry Birds had a child. This would honestly make a dope mobile game
Hahaha the post game is a parody of the actual postal service in Sweden, postnord but they named it postnörd (wich translates to mailnerd)
But also that they lose or fumble peoples mail all the time
looking back on auction brawl, i think the concept was that you were supposed to be bidding on weapons against other players, and it kept booting you because you were the only player left - you won each round by default
Daily reminder me and my son watch Kev every night before bed, and he's your youngest fan ❤
careful, your kid might grow into a world-consuming cult leader too!!!
i've been struggling with mental health but your streams and videos always help me, love to see it!
I haven't laughed like this in a while😂🤣😂 Thank you
You’re videos genuinely make me belly laugh every time. Keep doing what you’re doing 😄
As a game developer this vault room is what the inside of my brain looks like. The number of ideas i have that i have forgor. Just lost the key and location of. Outstanding
Ooh a new video juist when i popped in! Thank you for making my day beter!
Haha love that post game its called Postnord worlds crappiest postal service! We call it postmord here Mailmurder!

@@theinternetlawyer7126 det är vad som gör det speciellt;)
Oooh a bizarre Kevin game play! Yay!

Was funny.
Always good to hear Johnny Cash.
I genuinely love the lil guys in 'Anything for my Pals' they're kinda cute lmao
15:24 - Vicotory is in Stick Fight the Game too, I thought it was an incorrect spelling that wasn't fixed because the game was abandoned.
Maybe it's like Postnord/Postnörd, a deliberate change but I don't know what vicotory is meant to be. Still funny with such a minor change for the post game one. Translates to Postnorth/Postnerd. Looks funnier in Swedish, at least to me.
21:53 A plane making plains
_Dunno why, but this just came to mind_
The perfect video to clean and perform some upgrades on my PC to.
This will be very interesting thank you Kevin
17:24 wait I recognize that reload animation, it's also in that alamo game with 15m unskippable sermon that spouts nazi ideals.
It's possible both games were made by the same studio but it's more likely that they both just got the gun from an asset store.
"Anything for my pals" looks like a very fun game idea.
