We use limes when making guacamole, chicken tortilla soup, Mexican street tacos, Margaritas, limeade, cucumber/lime detox drink. I put it in my mango cucumber salsa, and even though my husband’s favorite dessert is key lime pie, I use whatever limes I have. Chili lime chicken, cilantro lime shrimp, lime pound cake, cilantro lime rice. You can make a compound butter using lime and herbs and put it on corn or other foods such as fish. Creamy margarita popsicles are also good. I use limes in place of lemons quite often. So anything that you make that might ask for a squeeze of lemon, try lime instead. The best thing you can do with extra limes is give them to your friends and neighbors! Enjoy!

Just bought a house and I am looking forward to gardening again, a major frustration in my present apartment life. The first thing I am going to plant is a lime tree in a large pot. Thank you for your helpful tips in this excellent video. Will keep you informed about how this works out. You are a natural teacher.

One great thing to do with too many lemons or limes is slice them into wheels lay them out onto parchment paper on a large baking tray and freeze them. then they won't stick together and can be kept in a large freezer bag. Use them in drinks instead or with ice. You can freeze the juice after boiling it with sugar water for margaritas. (not that I would ever do that) ;) You can also freeze the juice directly in an ice cube tray then add it to anything melt it in salsa, add it to salad dressings, have it on fish or with mayo and some of those artichokes! Mmmmm! Very refreshing to have a frozen lime in just an ordinary glass of water. Good for you too! Enjoy your bountiful harvest!

I live just north of Sydney, Australia and have grown limes for many years. They can be used as a substitute for lemons, can be frozen in ice cube trays, for later use or what I do with the bulk of mine is to make lime marmalade. Great for breakfast.

Like the Central Americans, I put lime juice in all kinds of soups and stews, even split pea soup. YUMMY!! Also, dipping fruit slices in lime juice first that you plan to preserve by drying, like apples and apricots for example, stops oxidation color changes (browning) and adds wonderful "secret" flavor to the finished product. :))

Hello Mark! Everything looks fabulous! Lime infused water when it is hot is always refreshing!! I love the hubby to wear lime scented aftershave in the Summer. I bought Royal Lyme aftershave (from Bermuda) for him years ago. And if I remember correctly the making of it came about because the cane workers would have buckets of water with lime slices to drink for their thirst - but they would also splash it on as well. I don't have any recipe for it - but I bet you could find ways to use limes in homemade toiletries, etc. Enjoy your wonderful harvest from all the hard work you do! And I bet it also smells great too!

Candied limes are also great, in cold water in summer for drinking, make a punch, use rind and juice in yoghurt; in cream and cream cheese as icing on muffins and cakes... lime juice ice cubes or homemade ice cream. I love limes and I'm expecting my first harvest soon! Very excited. Thanks for all your practical ideas and your great vlogging..😎

    Use all of the lime:-
Dry the peel (first remove white flesh ) and store in glass jars. Dry peels can be powered and used in hundreds of different ways including lemonade, salts etc.
Thick Lime pulp smoothies can be dried out as a fruit roll, full of vitamin C. This also stores well.

Good ways to use limes: in Persian meat/veg sauce over rice-BEST nutrition and taste! In Persia to convert limes to dried ‘limon-almonee’-spread bed sheets outside on hot summer days and spread out on top of sheets your limes to dry until brown...keeps for 10-20 years for stews/Persian food!

I know this video has been out a while but I just found you when I got interested in gardening again. Cant grow limes here as it gets way to cold and we get about 6 inches of raina year. One of north americas driest areas. But I can help with tips for what to eat them with :) carne asada tacos! It's beef steak cut thin then sliced into little strips and fried in a skillet. Then throw it in a corn fried tortilla squeeze your lime on top and add your favorite shredded cheese and veg on top mmm. I like mine with a pinch of chopped cilantro (water cress will substitute nicely) and chopped tomato and a bit of your favorite greens. Plain meat cheese and lime with cilantro is also awesome. Add hot sauce to taste. To go with it a chilled corona with a slice of lime jammed in the bottle. This awesome meal originates in mexico but us guys from the southwest usa eat it often. Your videos are great I just subscribed.
