    I have been growing a lemon tree for 6 years. I planted it as a seed from a lemon from my mother in law's lemon tree around when my son was born. I've even moved the tree with my family across the country. It's bigger than me and has never bloomed. I didn't know growing from a seed could produce a plant that never blooms. I'm giving it one more year with all these tips. Thanks for the video, and wish me luck!

      A neighbor's lemon tree, part of it, grew into my yard. I chopped it out, together with the roots, and planted it at a different location. It grew healthily but never fruited. I decided to grow an orange tree from seeds; instead, I got a lemon tree. In the first 5 years, it fruited. The other tree, eighteen years later, I was about to get rid of it to make way for my guava tree (also grown from seeds), but I noticed some lemons. I kept the tree. Maybe be patient.

      @@TheBluestar2009 I have not. I had to move across the country and while the tree came with me, it suffered a massive blow to it health and lost many of its leaves. It's making a come back, but every time I get it healthy, something happens that I have to put it back into survival mode instead of budding mode. I was so close! I saw one flower bud before the wind of a 3,000 mile trip ripped everything off. :( Hoping that I can get it comfortable again.

Looking forward to some heavy fruiting citrus plants. plenty of good pollenators in the area. The summer heat can be a problem for us. We live in Zone 9 but do get freezes once in a while. I will look for any tips regarding how to protect citrus during a freeze and extreme heat (in Zone 9). Thanks again!! Then cover with sheets, (sometimes double), to conserve the gentle heat. The colder it is, the more lights! Remember to remove the sheets as the weather improves. They like lots of sunlight!

    I now understand why my plants are not happy since I brought them from the store! I re-potted them as soon as I brought them home! also my lime plant has started to show signs of deficiency and I think this maybe due to the fact that they haven't got sunlight so thanks for this

    I try to watch your videos as much as I can. You have it going brother. I do have a couple of questions, my soil is just under 6 ph and I’d like to bring it up to at least 6.5. What’s the easiest way to do this. Thanks for your help.

      Make one room a "Grow Room" for you and your plants. The best plants like it cool and the added lights will make you grow also! I'm from New Hampshire, USA... I know! The indoor plants will make you feel great! Ma 2

      Can grow lemon plants indoors in pots as we do here in Delaware. They do well as long as you put them out in the summer and keep them in a sunny spot near a window in the winter. Quite hardy.

    Thank you so much for your detailed information. Could you please guide on the sequence and time gap between each add on like compost, bone meal, etc.?

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  3 года назад +11

      Thanks. I have said compost a handful per plant once 15 days and a source of phosphorus starting early in growth period like in seedling stage a table spoon per plant once every 3 months.
