I have been growing a lemon tree for 6 years. I planted it as a seed from a lemon from my mother in law's lemon tree around when my son was born. I've even moved the tree with my family across the country. It's bigger than me and has never bloomed. I didn't know growing from a seed could produce a plant that never blooms. I'm giving it one more year with all these tips. Thanks for the video, and wish me luck!

Recently it's been getting light green to yellow leaves and discovered that the pot had a dish on the bottom that wasn't allowing for drainage. I also added some fertilizer today as it hasn't gotten any previously. I hope to get some fruit in a few years!

Good stuff. In Florida, my biggest issue is the Giant Swallowtail butterfly. Since it only lays its eggs on citrus, I have to decide whether to remove the caterpillars or let them feast and destroy most of the foliage. This year, I’ve let the butterflies win and fortunately, I’m still getting a decent amount of fruit. Meyer lemons take a long time to ripen though.

I live in Wales on a mountain. My lemon or orange tree is from a pip. My daughter in law gave me one of each but one died.
My tree now is getting on for 3ft. I've repotted it a few times. It's just in a biggish plastic pot.
I take it out in late spring and put it in the hall late autumn. I water it in the winter once a month but I give it a soaking. Unless we have a long dry summer, the Welsh rain sorts it out.

Looking forward to some heavy fruiting citrus plants. plenty of good pollenators in the area. The summer heat can be a problem for us. We live in Zone 9 but do get freezes once in a while. I will look for any tips regarding how to protect citrus during a freeze and extreme heat (in Zone 9). Thanks again!! Then cover with sheets, (sometimes double), to conserve the gentle heat. The colder it is, the more lights! Remember to remove the sheets as the weather improves. They like lots of sunlight!

What a great video! We used to have a lemon tree but it died years ago and I would like to grow another one. I don’t understand all the dislikes since your information was very useful and easy to understand! ✌🏼💖

Nervous new owner of lemon plant - hadn't realised it would mean another mouth to feed...for instance liquid seaweed? Is this essential?

I have about 16 feet rough lemon (big lemon) usually bigger than a apple. Planted in my backyard it gives about 150+ fruits in may - june and 20+ fruits every month 😁

I am so jealous! I never managed to care well enough for my Lemon tree. But. I also think the temperature changes in my area are not favoring much either.

I have a Meyer lemon in the ground of my Pensacola FL yard and it is over 10 years old now and this year it has problems with leaf miners so I will use need oil! It has helped in the past. But I had to be sure the fruit was established as many flowers dropped if I sprayed when flowers were blooming! I have hundreds of golfball size lemons already! I put Epsom salts around it and 10-10-10 fertilizer

Make one room a "Grow Room" for you and your plants. The best plants like it cool and the added lights will make you grow also! I'm from New Hampshire, USA... I know! The indoor plants will make you feel great! Ma 2

Can grow lemon plants indoors in pots as we do here in Delaware. They do well as long as you put them out in the summer and keep them in a sunny spot near a window in the winter. Quite hardy.
